Peter Parker has to sell his soul to the devil, lose his marriage, lose his daughter, and get cucked nonstop, while Eddie Brock saves the world, becomes a God, has a son, dies, travels across space and time, and then reform's himself through sheer will.
>In English Doc
They gave the symbiote to an alcoholic veteran with fucked legs and the symbiote became a suit of body armor and he became an anti-hero / hero with the symbiote bothering him.
Even worse, it was just a Hulk comic. The symbiote had no personality in Flash's series and would just HUlk out and turn Flash into the Hulk when it got angry. Terrible series, Remender is a hack.
I was in high school when it was coming out and I fucking hated it, I would online and see nothing but, "I always hated Venom, but this new Venom comic is great! Flash is so cool!" On all my forums. There were so many awful things in that series. The way it treated Anti-Venom/Eddie Brock, the way it disposed of Patrick Mulligan/Toxin off-panel. It was a Venom comic for people who hated Venom, and who hated symbiotes.
yeah anon and the bone resurrection was explained two issue ago it makes sense. this is just Ewing being a continuity nerd and having to explain/extrapolate the power boost Donny Cates gave Eddie at the end of his run on venom
It's simple, Marvel believes that Venom's appeal is that he's cool, while Marvel believes that Spider-Man's appeal is that he's a down on his luck loser.
Regardless, it's awesome. I wish I was Eddie Brock.
It's simple, Marvel believes that Venom's appeal is that he's cool, while Marvel believes that Spider-Man's appeal is that he's a down on his luck loser.
If Spider-Man were this cool, then Peter would've beat the shit out of reality to stop it from dropping shit on him as well as whoever is behind it all.
Psychotic version of Eddie. He got fucked up and turned into Bedlam. In one timeline Eddie stays as Bedlam, in another he pulls his shit together. Eddie Brock's timeline splits but because he's special it always stays in the same universe. As a result he's able to meet past and future alternate versions of himself.
How can you dislike Eddie Brock? He's a guy who's overcome every struggle! The world works against him, and he refuses to lie down, he tried to kill himself once, and then his life changed. He's a freaking hero, man!
the Ewing/V run follows the Cates run directly but outside of Dylan and Eddie being the King in Black, nothing from that run matters maybe just read a wiki summery if you don't want to to read the run just so you understand the essentials and you can then leap into Ewing's run
Symbiote lore has become so fucking confusing, I now unironically prefer the Ultimate version where Venom was just a science project by Peter's and Eddie's fathers.
>I prefer the version where symbiotes are just power suits/drugs to the version where they are alien life forms with their own personalities and culture
You don't need to lie and say this is because of new revelations, you never liked symbiotes to begin with.
I mean just in terms of simplicity dude. I still want them to have a personality but at least their origins and powers are much more streamlined in the Ultimate version
Symbiotes were a hive mind since Planet of the Symbiotes in the 90s. Knull did not change anything about symbiotes, it actually returned them to what they were before Bendis' Klyntar bullshit.
Has he dealt with The Maker since early in Cates run? Will that be a part of the upcoming ultimate invasion?
I found so weird to have him in a Venom book.
>hates every Venom comic >likes the one comic which isn't anything like other Venom comics
You simply hate Venom, and this is why Flash Venom was so bad, it's a Venom series in name only.
Yes. Life Foundation is shit, every symbiote past Carnage (and lets be real Carnage isn't great either) is shit, everything to do with Venom in space is shit.
Ngl I hate the recent 'Dadification' of otherwise relatively straightforwardly aggressive characters.
I get it makes them more relatable and makes developing character easier but seeing Eddie Brock slowly progress into basically Marvel's Kratos kinda annoys me.
Not every anti-hero needs a kid
I'm reading this comic, and I just don't get it. This is the coolest I've seen any Marvel character act in years... And it's Eddie freaking Brock?
Since when did Eddie Brock become the favorite son of Marvel comics?
Peter Parker has to sell his soul to the devil, lose his marriage, lose his daughter, and get cucked nonstop, while Eddie Brock saves the world, becomes a God, has a son, dies, travels across space and time, and then reform's himself through sheer will.
That's quite a bad ass panel.
>Eddie Brock is now a Dr. Manhattan level hero
Peterbros... I don't feel so good.
tpbp
In English Doc
you can't put Miles there, compared to all of those people, he had the symbiote for like one second or some shit.

i am so glad i am not the only one who remembers how bad it was

I do wonder what a Remender Hulk book would have been like
Like look at this shit. This is a hero moment worthy of Superman. But Eddie Brock gets it!
This whole comic is just nonstop fucking Eddie Brock mogging every other character in the Marvel Universe.
anon he just mogs some random soldiers, security guards and bikers in this issue it's not like he beats the crap out of some D-list heros or Villains
He resurrects himself from bones.
yeah anon and the bone resurrection was explained two issue ago it makes sense. this is just Ewing being a continuity nerd and having to explain/extrapolate the power boost Donny Cates gave Eddie at the end of his run on venom

Just casually walking out with his weiner flopping around
Eddie Brock has cock confidence. Always has.
Agreed, it's not badass to throw around some random mooks.
Bro, he beat Knull.
everyone has beaten knull. star lord beat him.
Not true, dummy.
>literally does the Chad stance
Holy kino. I kneel, Venomchads
Is this the greatest comic of all time?
No
It's simple, Marvel believes that Venom's appeal is that he's cool, while Marvel believes that Spider-Man's appeal is that he's a down on his luck loser.
Peter Parker isn't just a down on his luck loser, though, he's completely humiliated at the lowest level.
I can't even remember the last time a comic book character was this cool.
Eddie Brock should be the new face of the MCU.
what's with the weird esl commentary
I'm just shocked at how cool this comic is. I thought only Manga was cool these days, like Berserk or One Piece, but this is so good.
were you dropped on your head as a toddler?
Imagine if they cast Alexander Skarsgard as Eddie Brock.
The last time Eddie Brock was this badass was in Anti-Venom New Ways to Live, when he took on the drug cartels.
Imagine if more comics were this cool.
If Spider-Man were this cool, then Peter would've beat the shit out of reality to stop it from dropping shit on him as well as whoever is behind it all.
Peter needs to ask Eddie Brock to help him.
I could see that.
Bros, I'm getting so pumped up right now.
I have no idea what the next issue will be like...
Is EDDIE BROCK GOING TO FIGHT BEDLAM!?!?
Who's Bedlam? He looks cool.
>Eddie is Eddie's own worst enemy
Kino premise.
I struggle to think of a lamer character than Cates/Ewing Eddie, Miles maybe.
How can you dislike Eddie Brock? He's a guy who's overcome every struggle! The world works against him, and he refuses to lie down, he tried to kill himself once, and then his life changed. He's a freaking hero, man!
low hanging bait
Why did they draw Hitler with Trump's facial features?
Nah, I just know what good Eddie reads like. Also, now that you mention it, Cates/Ewing Eddie does feel a lot like America.
Go ahead, tell us who wrote Eddie well.
Not him, but Gerry Conway's Brock was great.
reminder Carol Danvers mercilessly cockblocked Parker but she would have fucked Brock's brains out given the chance
Eddie is such a freaking Chad. It's crazy.
the difference being written by cates is compared to Sue Deconnick is.
Sue Deconnick has the hots for Brock too.
Who cares? Can't we all just agree that that gimp ex-military homosexual who got the symbiote is the shittest most cucked of all of them?
Technically Miles had a symbiote once, so Miles is worse than even Flash. But Flash is definitely one of the low tier ones. As far as hosts go:
Eddie Brock > Peter Parker > Anne Weying > Mac Gargan > Flash Thompson > Angelo Fortunato > Miles Morales.
this i never liked Flash Thompson venom i got sick of homosexuals claiming it was good
Based.
is it essential to read Cate's run before Ewing's or could I just start with Ewing's no problem? I really don't want to read Knull stuff
You can just start with Ewing's, it gives you all the lore you need in the first issue if I remember right.
the Ewing/V run follows the Cates run directly but outside of Dylan and Eddie being the King in Black, nothing from that run matters maybe just read a wiki summery if you don't want to to read the run just so you understand the essentials and you can then leap into Ewing's run
He doesn't even need a wiki read, the first issue sets up everything in the first few pages.
Symbiote lore has become so fucking confusing, I now unironically prefer the Ultimate version where Venom was just a science project by Peter's and Eddie's fathers.
>I prefer the version where symbiotes are just power suits/drugs to the version where they are alien life forms with their own personalities and culture

I mean just in terms of simplicity dude. I still want them to have a personality but at least their origins and powers are much more streamlined in the Ultimate version
I hate what they've done to the symbiote.
I'll never accept that new Knull lore bullshit as canon.
Symbiotes were a hive mind since Planet of the Symbiotes in the 90s. Knull did not change anything about symbiotes, it actually returned them to what they were before Bendis' Klyntar bullshit.
i fucking hate Bendis
Has he dealt with The Maker since early in Cates run? Will that be a part of the upcoming ultimate invasion?
I found so weird to have him in a Venom book.
I'm pretty sure he's in at least one issue, but I can't remember.
the comic is good but your comments are cringe, you are pathetic.
Cope.
thanks for proving my point
Seethe.
he went through a lot to get here
I wish I had a Symbiote.
Somewhere out there, a symbiote wishes they had you.
Am I missing anything if I skip over Dark Web? I don't want to go buy the trade right now.
Remender's Flash was the only time the book has ever been good
>hates every Venom comic
>likes the one comic which isn't anything like other Venom comics
You simply hate Venom, and this is why Flash Venom was so bad, it's a Venom series in name only.
>You simply hate Venom
Correct. The moment Venom stopped being a Spider-Man villain he jumped the shark and became shit
So like his fifth appearance. Kys.
Yes. Life Foundation is shit, every symbiote past Carnage (and lets be real Carnage isn't great either) is shit, everything to do with Venom in space is shit.
>Remender's Flash was the only time the book has ever been good
Circle of Four outstayed its welcome.
nah its when it turned shit
