Why does Gunns new universe and Superman Legacy not have Jon Kent?

Why does Gunn’s new universe and Superman Legacy not have Jon Kent?

Batman The Brave and the Bold is going to have Damian Wayne as Robin.

So why not bring in Jon Kent as Superboy?

Then you can adapt the family stuff from the comics and do the Super Sons!

So why no Jon?

Brave and the Bold is also being written by Christina Hodson, the same b***h who wrote The Flash (bombed), Batgirl (so bad they wrote it off a tax write-off), and Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (which completely butchered characters like Cassandra Cain).

So be lucky that Jon Kent isn’t in the Gunnverse. I don’t think Damian Wayne ain’t going to end up so well with Christina Hodson.

This. After Aquaman 2 and Blue Beetle bomb, WB will be lucky to survive. And with Superman Legacy being full of excess DC cameos and a glorified commercial for The Authority, I don’t expect it to do well either.

Jon’s whole character is that he likes wiener. He is the mascot for DC’s Pride and his only character trait is that he likes men. A movie would be the equivalent of the 2022 movie Bros which no one wants.

Which is why I'm certain that's going to not do well. I understand skipping past the origin story. But skipping over all the other great Batman stories like Hush, Death In The Family, Long Halloween, Dark Victory, and Killing Joke to jump right to Damien Wayne is a bad idea. Peoples biggest complaint about Afflecks Batman was that he was too old and playing a batman past his prime, giving batman a kid is going to unnecessarily age him.

My point still remains unchallenged. There's dozens of Batman stories fans would rather see adapted with a standalone Batman, or a Dick Greyson Batman rather than Damien Waynes origin story.

I agree. But they're solving that by making the first appearance of Robin in a live action movie since the 90s the edgy angry child soldier robin, instead of the fun circus acrobat Robin?

            Anonymous

Plus just like the Snyder movies, they're not thinking of the future here. If they adapt Damien as the first Robin, that means no Dick Greyson and no Dick leaving to form the Teen Titans. No Jason Todd Robin means no Red Hood and no battle between Bruce and Jason. Even if Dick, Jason and Tim still exist and have history with Batman in this universe, and they're skipping over all that history to make a movie about a Batman who's over a decade into his crime fighting career, that means potentially dozens of iconic Batman stories will be skipped over and we'll never see them adapted the big screen.

                >an MCU style crossover goodbye

It was them not taking their time and rushing into the crossovers and justice league that ruined them. The MCU made a formula, all they had to do was copy it and they'd have had printable money for years. But for whatever reason the entire idea just eludes them.Start with a superman movie, have a Batman movie, have a wonder woman movie. Then a crossover movie. Then repeat with new standalone characters and another teamup movie. It's that simple. But now because they've screwed up so much nobody is going to go see any movie they make.

No it was the shitty writing. The Justice League cartoon introduced four new characters in its premiere. Non capeshit films don't build all this crap up. As long as you have a strong screenwriter you can do as you please.

Anon the movie introduced less characters with a longer run time than the JL pilot, and SnyderLeague had films to introduce the trinity. It is writing. No one whines that LOTR didn't have seperate books/movies to introduce the fellowship because they didn't need that shit to tell a compelling story. I swear the MCU has fried people's brains into thinking comic book films need to operate in some magic unique way. You don't even have to show the League get together if you have a good script just fricking have them be a team.

We got Long Halloween with The Dark Knight and The Batman. Gunn’s Batman is in his 30s. Starting with an established Batman isn’t a bad idea and adapting Morrison’s take isn’t bad either. It’d all depend on the execution.

3 reasons 1) for casuals Superman and Lois' romance is the attraction, the courtship needs to be seen
    2) Damien is a bit easier pill to swallow as Robin compared to the others, since he's Batman's son it kills the gay accusations and just becomes plain child endangerment.
    3) No matter what anyone thinks or has said publicly. Injustice is DC's endgame
