None of their movies have made even $100 m worldwide. Get Out, Conjuring, Annabelle, A Quiet Place, Paranormal Activity etc. are all way bigger. M3gan was bigger than Midsommar, Hereditary, Witch, X, Pearl... combined.
Everything Everywhere (which is ironically their worst probably) did.
Talk to Me did USD 89 so far (their 2nd highest-grossing movie). Hereditary did 82 mil. And these are very inexpensive movies so the profits are enormous
Now more than ever there's all kinds of horror movies/shows. From the very campy monster, to indie of all kinds, zombie crap, Korean, edgy shit like the terrifier, there's still slashers, etc... Stop being a homosexual because a few horror movies are not to your liking
a24 tries to make interesting things with concepts and themes and depth in a culturally and spiritually bankrupt era, and these soilennial nimrods who collect b-movie garbage cannot handle it because they get filtered by basic stuff like bergman and godard
Three tickets for me, my wife and my wife’s son for the newest A24-produced, genre-redefining, trope-subverting, atmospheric, dark and eerie, emotionally draining, gut wrenching, aesthetically heavy craft by post-horror auteur with an arthouse edge, dread-inducing, suspenseful build up with strong character development and gradual feeling of escalation, bone-chilling slow burn with “say more with less” approach and soul-shaking, blood-curdling, skin-crawling and nerve-wracking exercise in persistently looming dread where tension and anxiety permeates every frame as movie reaches its nail-biting, jaw-clenching and paranoia-inducing final climax, free of any cheap gore, cartoonish CGI or infantile jumpscares horror film, please.
it's popular and Cinemaphile runs on contrarianism
Because all all movies with that on it are shit
Babby's first indie film
They tend to be pretentious, self-indulgent slop
because every movie they've ever has a decent concept, that they ruin within the last act
>88
>a decent concept, that they ruin within the last act
heh
A2A?
thanks Dr. Fauci
because they have their head up their ass
hypebeast films
Because it's fricking garbage
They popularized the “horror monster is metaphor for trauma/depression” trope which has ruined contemporary horror
how is that stopping other filmmakers from doing something different
because nothing else sells, and zoom zooms are all "depressed" so they eat that shit up

with which movies did they do that?

Their horror movies are kinda ass and I love horror so I dislike A24 a bit. They've got some good non-horror though.
They just distribute most of the movies, but people act like the company was responsible for making all of them.
buzz words

Cinemaphile thinks A24 is one person and that they actually make the movies that they produce.
Most likely they're not aware that A24 makes stuff other than horror and thrillers.
I finally got around to seeing A Ghost Story the other day.
It was a beautiful little film and I liked it quite a bit.
I don't even know wat A24 is.
Is it the newest AI program or something?
yeah, it lets you generate a movie script
Are you being serious or shitposting?
yes

I liked The Witch, but not a lot of A24 movies really come on my radar. Modern horror movies in general have been kind of ass since the 90s.
>why does it make Cinemaphile seethe?
>onions (128).gif
must have taken ages to find the right gif
>He has a jak folder
better than reposting the same reaction image from 2009 like you just did lol.
For every kino they make, they churn out 8 of the trashiest most pretentious garbage you'll ever witness.

>pays the striking actors and writers what they ask for
Cinemaphile prefers capeshit and starwars
Personally I think they make indie films for mid-wits and they've diluted the intelligence down of those types of films for wider audiences.
indie films have always been hot garbage
