I feel like it's a mix of doing the RLM thing for so long, feeling indifferent about movies in general nowadays...which is justified imo, being demonetized a dozen times, receiving lawsuits as well, being imitated by countless other YT channels and those people getting larger numbers and so on.

I used to see movies all the time, now I see one every 6 months at most (last 3 years).
Do you remember the now "lost" Best of the Worst video, Diamond Cobra vs the White Fox? The crazy lady who made/starred in it either sued RLM or threatened to and was actually successful in doing so somehow, hence why it's been blipped out of reality. Shame, too...as it may have been my favorite installment ever.

I get that feeling too. He once joked he wanted to be like David Lynch, but everything he made (Space cop/the slenderman rip off/etc) he acted like he was too cool for it, like hipster levels of ironic/sarcastic disengagement.
I literally think he prioritized being the alpha-nerd of his friend group (to cool for everything) instead of mastering his craft.
