Arabs cutting people’s hands off for stealing is racist

      >For certain crimes, such as theft, blasphemy, and adultery, traditional interpretations of Islamic law prescribe punishments that are considered draconian compared to those in most modern legal systems. Among them are the hudud punishments, which include stoning, lashing, and amputation

      It’s true though

Hollywood type artists are hypersensitive to many things common in films from back then because they desperately try to stay acceptable according to the political discourse. It may not make any sense out of their heads and change next month.

      Aladdin???
      The fricking babies kids movie?

What fricking negative depiction? It's fricking fantasy. Why does that read like I'm being talked down to?

It's just a safety measure in today's zeitgeist. Most likely the average consumer doesn't even know what's offensive in it or why, but the warning's still there so LEGALLY, Disney doesn't get shit from Arab groups that MAY complain, if at all.

I've been shown YouTubers reacting to commercials from the 80s from someone who just loves that react content and I always hear the tuber say "wow it was of its time" and it'll be something like a Mexican dressed as a mariachi band with an American cowboy. Like the most lukewarm things make people scared of offending someone.
It's a bandaid solution and eon't solve anything since people who want to complain will still complain until the target is removed.

The fact that they applied this warning across the board to all Aladdin movies including the remake tells me that the Aladdin cartoon is basically soft-banned and will never be put on Disney Plus. I imagine we'll never see Legend of Tarzan for the same reason too.

Lot of lefties refuse to open a history book. Arabs were some of the most barbaric enslavers and colonizers, and still are to this day. But because they're "brown" and follow a ginger pedophile's religion, they must be protected at all costs!!!

I suppose this post will be lost on conspiratorial /misc/ shizos but after WWII and western empires falling apart, the general sentiment of the western world was, we need to pay our dues for colonialism.
We are now at a point were the "western oppressors vs oppressed third world" narrative seems more and more antiquated but leftists stick to it because criticism of western colonialism have historically been such an integral part of their movement. And people invested in leftist theory tend to be extreme dweebs that are completely out of touch with the world around them, thinking all dynamics from the 1930's still apply.

Because Iran was actually pretty progressive before the CIA did their thing. I think Iraq too? Plus we really, really screwed the pooch with Afghanistan on multiple occasions, starting with just leaving them out to dry after the Russkies left, which is what set in motion the events that would lead to 9/11 and the War in Afghanistan.
