homie have you seen BET?
because some producer there pissed off Aaron McGruder. he's a producer on the show despite not being a part of it.
MORE than just a producer. REGINALD FRICKING HUDLIN.
The dude who fricked up black panther for several years, and also did the cartoon.
>REGINALD FRICKING HUDLIN.
>Black Panther, in costume from head to toe to fingertips
>Storm, half naked, smoking hot
>Both land in Latveria to see Dr Doom. Small village peasants, where everybody know everybody, stares at newcomers to their tiny village
>Black Panther: IT MUST BE BECAUSE WE'RE BLACK!
I literally dropped the book after that issue. I then saw him shortly after at SDCC and wanted to say something, but didn't feel like wasting my time. It was such a paranoid-schizo self-insert moment. The villagers would be staring at EVERY stranger coming to visit Doom.
Aaron McGruder has a grudge against BET. I think he pitched the show to them and they said no.
Worse. They wanted to make it BET. Hot ghetto mess.
I'm not being racist. Hot Ghetto Mess was actually a name of a show they had. It's the tv equivalent of world star.
Because it turned into a minstrel show.
Black people in the 21st century ARE a minstrel show. Ever since the civil rights movement, they've been encouraged to act and speak like morons and most do.

This. The BET anons here know about is the one after it got bought by Viacom. They don't know the early BET that was all documentaries, game shows, and intellectualism. They think it was always just glorifying gangsta rap.
It wasn't. No until the white man bought it.
>the white man
why do all those white men have big noses and tiny hats? and what about the weird nappy hair?
Discovery, History Channel, all of these channels realized that education was ratings poison for Murricans.
/v/irgin stopping by Cinemaphile for the first time in years!
McGruder originally wanted to make the show on BET (the first people who accepted the idea), but they wanted to censor/change most of the show. McGruder eventually stopped accepting their calls and moved on to Sony with some of the concepts he had for BET.
Later down the road, BET/VIACOM tried suing McGruder and Sony for the FULL rights to the show, claiming that the character designs and plot were co-written by BET. Something McGruder heavily denied. They eventually won partial rights, which made McGruder furious. As a result, he made an episode where he tore the network apart.
Just watch the BET episode, it explains it all. Also,
Welcome crossposter anon. Cinemaphile fricking sucks, but so does Cinemaphile so I can’t really be annoyed.
BET romanticized and promotes the worst traits of urban black culture
t.black anon
>implying there are any good traits
It can ALWAYS get worse anon.
They're trying to destroy black people.
BET to black people is like George Lopez is to latinx.
Why wouldn't you hate Black EVIL Television?
Aaron McGruder has always hated BET, and to a lesser extent other black centric TV Network such as UPN because usually some of the shows on the network were of low quality, and sort of fed on the stereotype that you usually see of black people. Also Reginald Hudlin (President of BET from 2005 to 2008) helped him on the pitch pilot for The Boondocks that they made for Fox but I guess they had a falling out after the pitch pilot didn't go through with Fox. So his former colleague going on to work for a network that helps perpetuate the stereotype of black people probably didn't help.
