Says the "Right" things on twitter and his Injustice comics sold well thanks to being the tie-in you needed to read to understand the game's plot.
>thanks to being the tie-in you needed to read to understand the game's plot.
Actually you can understand Injustice just fine without reading Taylor's work
It was just successful because Injustice is literally baby's first Elseworld during a time where DC was pushing for new readers and has a simple premise people can sink their teeth into
Even on piracy sites the comic has plenty of views
>the tie-in you needed to read to understand the game's plot.
Nope. The IGAU story was easy to follow just fine on its own. I'd argue that reading the comics only makes things more confusing with contradictions and retcons that when I2 released, the games and comics were considered separate canons.
I DID IT ALL FOR THE NOOKIE
Why are his lips so thin and his chin so huge? He barely looks human
Nah. Meghan Fritzmartin is worse.
As for why he gets work, Normalgays sadly eat up his comics.
They love his Injustice and DCeased comics. And they love his Nightwing.
>Normalgays sadly eat up his comics.
No, they don’t.
Fitzmartin is a Chelsea Cain tier writer
She made one damaging influence on a character but there's a chance she'll eventually leave for something else since she hasn't sinked her teeth in yet like say Tini Howard
>And they love his Nightwing
Funny thing about that. I work at a comic book store, and his Nightwing has brought in a more than average number of new readers. But about half of them have told me that they liked it a lot less after reading more comics and getting familiar with the characters' pre-Taylor depictions, or confessed that they don't even like the writing at all and just love Bruno's art.
>I had a discussion at ECCC with someone in comics, I’m not going to mention who, about how busy the convention was, and they said that some of the attendees were probably just “Tumblr fans.”
>I asked what she meant, and she said that she felt there was a growing group of fans who love the characters and love MOMENTS of stories, but don’t read the actual comics ever. She said that they will buy a CHARACTER X t-shirt in a heartbeat, but don’t own any graphic novels. They will reblog a scene they like from a comic, but never go to an actual comics shop to get that same book.
Literally his audience
Reminder the Tumblr/Twitter audience are not paying customers, they are not even people people that vbring customers.
IIRC there was an old series of tweets from Kate Leth complaining that her fans weren't buying her comics as one of them got cancelled because of poor sales.
If that was true then his books wouldn't sell, by definition.
They don’t
>My book made it Amazon's top 10 in this superspecific category 3 minutes after midnight.
His books don't sell that's why Gay Superman got cancelled.
He got lucky with Injustice
>Mediocre tie in of a popular game.
Is that really his claim to fame?
Yes
Yeah his claim to fame is stories about Superman going bad, injustice, dceased, that gay one where they’re all knights, that other gay one where he’s actually gay. It’s weird, he’s a decent writer but he’s afraid of not layering things under every bit of irony OR not selling his banality to the tumblr crowd
Remember when he announced John coming out of the closet in one of those before June Pride days about bisexuality or whatever and with the DC Pride cover?
He's extremely hamfisted with his writing. The dude doesn't understand the point of subtlety or nuance.
this is true and he'll tell you so if you meet him. dude sells prints of specific panels at conventions.
It's true, people on t*kt*k have bragged about never reading a single comic in their lives.
Reliable and sells decently as a writer. That Injustice comic helped him as that did well for a digital only comic selling for a dollar an issue.
>TFW the MKX comic didn't sell well enough for a continuation
Proof that there's not enough overlap between comic fans and MK fans. I wonder if the animated movies have done better than the comics.
The worst person at DC is still better than 95% of writers/artists/creators out there.
You're so moronic that you just willingly conceded the fact that you have never read an actual book in your fricking life
the irish mob, by the look of it.
He's Australian
>easily the worst person at DC right now.
tini howard
Why are you alive? You're easily the worst poster on Cinemaphile right now.
Hey Tom. How’re the kids doing?
His stuff sells and he is someone DC has been promoting a ton.
