>In comics he was basically a Barry copy
...How??? The things you mentioned are the only ways he "copies" Barry, other than being the Flash. His personality is ENTIRELY different.
The artist didn't do a good job at highlighting the slight differences in their costume. Plus, that homosexual Morrison had removed the Batman eyes at this point, so it's not as clear as it was in pic related.
That image are tv show and it copy character, use aliens, brunette and character that are not the same. We are talking about comics and not some alternate universe on TV.
So can you at least post some from comics?
Who cares about Comic Wally vs Comic Barry?
Is this really something DCkeks agonize over?
A competition of popularity between two B-list tenured DC characters?
>Who cares about Comic Wally vs Comic Barry?
More than people who care about CW shows

I'm a comic gay, and that's probably untrue, anon. CW's Flash show was probably their most popular. People who gave absolutely zero shit about DC before watched it faithfully.
Hes a generation's flash and before Barry came back was the best example of a legacy hero stepping up. He was such a great Flash that Barry essentially copied his character when he was brought back.
No, he had a good amount of his own villains. Funny enough, Barry plundered both Wally's and Jay's villains for the CW show. Just shittier versions of them, though.
Yeah, normies can't tell their elbow from their ass when it comes to comics--that's nothing new.

They are both just these Dudes calling themselves Flash in roughly the same damn costume. If the TV show were Wally instead of Barry it would be the same show.
No one but LCS nerds give a frick.

So, your costume is your entire hangup? Okay, way to admit a complete lack of argument. >If the TV show were Wally instead of Barry it would be the same show.
No, it wouldn't. Though, you wouldn't read comics, so you wouldn't know.

I've read my share of Flash comics, Wally was even interesting for a bit when he was rebooted to be just about speed of sound fast and fighting the Russian speedsters.
But too much of the comics is just "Faster than evar before, faster than thought, faster than THE SPEEDFORCE!" animu shittery that no one with a decent IQ would bother with.
Flash used to be a half-decent character with the usual DC assortment of bizarre and wacky rogues; now he's Flash of the Flash Family fighting Evil Flashes and Parallel Flashes and rewriting the timeline, and it's all pretty gay.
The most interesting thing a Flash has done in years is run off with the girl he's been grooming; ostensibly to practice their cover story with "Flash-cards" for the FBI.

That's a general superhero problem. Writers don't know how to just create their own stories; its always gotta be some newer, bigger evil--or a reference to/revival of a long put-away villain.
I really liked Zoom, though. Zoom and Savitar were both interesting villains for Wally (though, Savitar was more of a general "Flash Family" villain). The ending to Wally's original encounter with Zoom is so heavy-hitting.

This is the ending I mentioned in this post
Wally wins, but at what cost?

>That's a general superhero problem.
Yes but it's a specifically BAD Flash problem because his powers, and the way he deals with various perils, disasters and villains, is pretty one-dimensional.
He ends up Running Faster than Evar, cut to some soap drama, then more Running Faster than Evar.

Yeah, I think Flash is just one of those heroes--like the Spectre--who requires a creative writer to do well.

A brilliant writer can make ANY comic character a pleasure to read; the Big 2 do not have a stable full of brilliant writers, they are a scarcity in comics as a whole. And the few who exist aren't chomping at the bit to write for Flash.

So...
Flash was only interesting when it was about Wally.
It became shit when didio got a boner for unmarketable 70s loser versions of characyers.

No.
If it was Wally and they had his cast and his story of Barry dying/dissapearing after sacrificing himself for the universe then it would be good and have built in pathos
>Also same origin story >Even Batman sidekicks have more variety
Wally West is the Dick Grayson equivalent. Dick Grayson's parents getting killed by a mobster is about as different from Batman's origin as Wally getting zapped to earn his powers from Barry getting hit by lightning.
he was the flash for a lot of people growing up so they simp for him
also he was the flash in the justice league cartoon, same reason people think John Stewart is an interesting green lantern or Batman and Wonder Woman is a popular ship
Your post implies that Wally is bad. Give an actual reason you think that.
Not him and the anon is a complete moron but I think he might be referring to the DCAU where Wally was a CSI but that is hardly the standard or the norm
In comics he was basically a Barry copy down to the twin kids and Lois Lane-y wife
In JL he was an original caracter pretty much
Anon.
Modern Barry is a less engaging ripoff of Wally with added unbelievable wank.
Even his zoom is a trash overpowered copy of zolomon AND black manta.
Face it.
Their boner for bringing back trash silver age characters that on their fa e are inferiorbto their replacements has doomed DC.

Was the main Flash for the late 80s through the mid 2000s, and in the DCAU. That goes a long, long way
In comics he was basically a Barry copy down to the twin kids and Lois Lane-y wife
In JL he was an original caracter pretty much

I literally can't tell who's Wally and who's Barry.

>In comics he was basically a Barry copy
Why do dumb shills keep claiming this
Have you frickers ever actually read Barry stories before 1987
>Have you frickers ever actually read
No excuse
Shills need to be called out
He has the best flash stories.
Flashpoint is a Barry story
Flashpoint is overrated shit
Flashpoint is not a good story.
It’s actually a good alternate dystopian earth story the only part that sucks is the ending that forces the Nu52 reboot
Flashpoint is trash and Wally lite aka Barry still sucks ass and set the flash ip back decades in comics.
Because redheads are rare now due to redhead genocide with blackification
Can you name some blackification in the comics?
If someone has the image saved. Its like 20+ Redheaded characters turned into blacks.
That image are tv show and it copy character, use aliens, brunette and character that are not the same. We are talking about comics and not some alternate universe on TV.

Same job
Journalist wife that is in turn a copy of Lois
Twin kids
Also his main rogues were Barry’s
No, he had a good amount of his own villains. Funny enough, Barry plundered both Wally's and Jay's villains for the CW show. Just shittier versions of them, though.
As far as movies/television aimed at general audiences, they might as well be the same character, no one broadly cares about the Flash "legacy".
...Your point is?
Yeah, normies can't tell their elbow from their ass when it comes to comics--that's nothing new.

This is the dumbest fricking take
He still managed to do all that better than boring Barry.
>He copied Barry
He took over as the Flash in honor of Barry who was a father figure to him
>Same job
Barry was a CSI Wally was a mechanic
>Journalist wife that is in turn a copy of Lois
Complaining about this is dumb as a ton of superhero romantic interests are reporters
>Twin kids
And yet Jai and Irey have a ton more characterization than Don and Dawn
Also same origin story
Even Batman sidekicks have more variety

This is because they literally gave his personality to Barry when he came back.
People who're saying he is just a copy of Barry haven't read comics. Jfc.
BECAUSE HE IS A TITAN
AND DICK'S BEST FRIEND
>His only unique trait
Black person, nobody has "unique traits"--especially in superheroes.
He is entertaining, though.
This is now a Flash Family thread.
He has a hot Korean wife. Based.
Barry wasn't the quipster wally is. It's thst simple.
He was the Flash for TWENTY years.
Of course he is going to have fans.
Frick off with that JoJo shit.
he was the flash for a lot of people growing up so they simp for him
