If they make one, then they would have to deal with those who prefer the original make and start protesting the genderbent version which would incite those who like the genderbent version which would result in them doing a protest...in other words, to much trouble.

There's no point in making a genderflipped Little Mermaid these days because there's only one man in the history of time who could properly play a male Ursula, and that's Tim Curry. Seriously, imagine him in his prime singing "Poor Unfortunate Souls" and tell me it isn't perfection.

The ideal actor would've been Divine since Ursula was based on him, but that dude's been dead for years.

whats the point? besides, if they change the story too much, its "sexist", if they dont change it enough, its boring, and people will riot either way
then again, i assume the notion of cute disney princesses reimagined as twinks has an audience in all the Gisney-moms and other buzzfeed reading women who treat the movies less as entertainment or art and more as a monument to the NOTION of nostalgia

Just preserve the original's theme of lovesick teenager doing stupid shit for love but adapt it as a coming of age story for boys.

Male Ariel would probably start off something of a carefree pretty boy feeling shackled by his home and duties. He rescues a drowning princess from a shipwreck and swore that he'll do anything to be with her. Yada yada yada. Meets with the sea witch. But instead of giving up his voice. He ends up on a quest to complete a series of tasks. With the completion of each task, the witch gifts him artifacts that slowly helps him lose his merman form. Eventually becoming human after his quest is complete.

But as soon as he's ready to be reunited with his beloved, the witch reveals that the tasks he performed have granted her strength to overpower his father and take over merpeople kingdom. Realizing the enormity of his crimes, Male Ariel says farewell to his princess before destroying the witch's gifts and transforming back into a merman.

He rushes back just in time to save his father and his kingdom from the empowered giant witch. Even though he saved the merpeople, he still must be trialed for aiding the witch in the first place. King Triton decides that the suitable 'punishment' would be exile into the human world where he can be with the princess.

im surprised they havent, its perfectly safe, completely heterosexual yet 'queer' at the same time
or maybe thats why? maybe its the other way around- too feminine for china, but not queer enough to america

I think you could avoid a culture if you made a male version of a typical feminine being like a boy fairy or something and have his feminine behavoir just be a part of his his race. You could do the same with female character being of a masculine race like girl ogre or girl goblin or something but people don't have a problem with tomboys and girls like guys anyway

Because straight girls want to be Disney Princesses but straight boys don't want to be Disney Princes. This is no rocket science.
Even a gay boy would rather be a Disney Princess than a gay Disney Prince. And a gay girl wouldn't want to be a gay man.
So your idea has no audience in the target demography, it's just your personal fetish.

Male Ariel is gay as frick.

You see merfolk don't have legs and do not understand human clothing. Here male Ariel is seen choosing an outfit without realizing it goes against established gender roles.

Whenever I hear people say "what's the point" to rule63, I just remember that how a bunch of homosexuals found a book that was just rule63 Twilight and they all finally "got it".
That being said, neither Ariel nor Eric have the same widespread sexual appeal as any of the characters in actual erotica like 50 Shades of Grey or Twilight, you are not going to find a cucumber on each cinema seat like you are with those movies no matter what you do with those characters.
    It's complicated.

I've grown to hate this post.
It isn't true, Twilight for boys would probably be even worse than Twilight for girls because I can't even say "That's women for yah" and dismiss it. I'd know for a fact that Bello is a fricking homosexual doing everything wrong by SIMPing over some vampire who's way up her own ass rather than going for the cute Indian Girl who rides motorcycles and likes hanging out with you and goes from cute but kinda frumpy to full on brown fit girl who neer wears a proper shirt. Frick you Danny Devito, frick you and your shit taste.

        >I just remember that how a bunch of homosexuals found a book that was just rule63 Twilight and they all finally "got it".
They "finnaly" got it because they were degenerates. We always new why women liked it. There was nothing to get. Those people wo got it are just degenerates with the taste of women.

All I'm saying is that there is an appeal large enough to create a following.

        >Also, who the frick are
Shut up leftoid. You belong in a mental asylum.

Cool baseless political assumption, here's mine, I bet you actually think about whoever you vote for.

Rule63 is disappointing to me. 99% of the time it's just turning guys into girls in the lowest effort way possible, usually shedding anything but the most basic of identifying design traits to such an extent that sometimes you can't even tell who it is meant to be besides just a generic girl.

        What about that 1%?
