Korra deserved better. Her show surpassed the original in almost every way.

Your bait isn't subtle enough man. Next time, add actual points from the series that you can pretend are superior, and make it look like natural conversation.

          Exactly.
Korra and Radical Dreamers/Chrono Cross are both that are really kind of weak and generic on their own but had they gone and tried to be 100% original they'd be solid 5/10s that maybe built a small cult followin for being decent. Instead, they tried to punch above their weight class by being ill fitting sequels and relying heavily on connections to the previous thing in the franchise, except they go about it by shitting on the previous franchise and breaking the rules it established whenever possible so it sort of comes off as not being clear who its for.

Breaking the reincarnation cycle was the equivalent to the "deleting Prometheus" scene.

Exactly. It's an ultimately unnecessary thing they added nothing to the story, that people that are new to the series via the new thing aren't going to care about, and fans of the previous thing are going to see it as mean spirited and done for cheap shock value.

Katara is a reoccurring character that shows up in every act repeatedly. The game is great though. MITY (the team behind the game) is adding additional content after the slave/love routes have finished.

I think its kinda fricked up that you never had to answer for breaking Bolin's heart and helping Mako cheat on Asami. I think it's really shitty that any of that had to happen in the first place, but even shittier that no one ever called you out on how fricked it all was.

She was hard headed and didn't remember her lessons she learned until late in every season. She tried to punch all her problems away even when she knew that shit wouldn't work.
Each season also had their own problems of course with S2 being the worst of the 4.
In the end the porn ended up being the best part of the shows existence.
Korrasami was an ass-pull right at the end because Nick treated the show so bad. But again, the porn is great.

I liked Korra. I just didn't like her friends. Mako was a jerk for no reason and then he had nothing to do for the next three seasons. Bolin was Sokka-lite and the good relationship he had had with Korra was squandered in favour of shipping drama. Asami was a charisma vacuum and her contribution to the group was money and driving. She basically replaced Appa in that she was the one who got people around.
For me, Korra was at her best when she was with Tenzin. There was an ocean of difference between her first moments with Tenzin, where she was a disrespectful hothead, to her last moment where she just enjoyed a quiet moment with him. It's the best example in a cartoon of a strong relationship between a man and a woman that isn't based on familial ties or romance.
The group honestly should have been Korra, Tenzin, Lin and any firebender other than Mako. So when Korra starts to mature, we see it by how she fits in with her group better.

This is the most positive thing I've ever seen in regard to this show, it made me want to like Korra too.
What a great story that could have been.

I think I liked Korra as a character at first, but then the opening episodes of S2 made me actively dislike her, she acted like a giant b***h to everyone at the drop of a hat - her bf, Tenzin, her own dad.
Everyone except Unaloq, because she also has to be dumb enough to trust everything the villain says, even after he brings over a ton of warships, until its directly revealed to her he is evil.

      >The group honestly should have been Korra, Tenzin, Lin and any firebender other than Mako
That's exactly what I noticed last time I watched the series, too. Korra, Tenzin, and Lin have a great group dynamic that balances each other out: The hotheaded superpowered god rookie, the hardened police chief, and the wise old guy with zero patience. It was fun because all three were ready to jump down each others' throats at a moment's notice, but they were a goddamn powerhouse when they were actually in sync with each other.

The issue with Korra, Mako, Bolin, and Asami is that all four of them worked better as straight man characters, with only Bolin being able to take the fool role if he had to. The moment they separated the group and started pairing them with actual gag characters like Verrik and Prince Wu, they suddenly got a hundred times more fun. It felt like they were trying to recreate the team from the first show, but without realizing that group only worked because all of them except Katara (and even Katara on occasion) were extremely goofy during their down time, so they were all bouncing back and forth between going along with the nonsense and trying to reign it in.

Yeah, I like that comparison to the airbender gang. It all comes back to how boring Mako and Asami are. When Korra and Bolin hung out, they were two misfits that egged each other on. With Mako it was just bickering until he eventually got sidelined and Asami didn't give Korra anything. She was all business. Like you pointed out, the old team had that back and forth. But Korra's team was almost all straight men.

Korra's a boring plot device not unlike Aang, and the only difference is that she's older and has breasts and is more annoying than Aang (and that's something considering Aang is insufferable). Korra has no depth as a character and shits the bed when it comes to interesting motives or agency. She exists only because TLOK is ruled by "whoa, wouldn't that be a neato idea" in terms of direction, something as contradictory and inconsistent as it is disposable to it's own creations.
