movies get more money and you didn't buy the toys
homosexual, how come you didn't buy the toys? what are doing with your money? I know you're not giving it on hookers you fricking virgin
Actually it was the old homosexual who ran CN at the time, he grew up on looney tunes and thought action shows were trash, proceeded to use his like 40+ years of television experience to engage in rating manipulations to get them all canceled. It killed the last major bastion of this style of animation in the west off and "proved" they were unprofitable, rather than say, that the way rating aggregation functions as it climbs the chain is fricking defective because it hasn't updated for almost 60 years.
IIRC it was a series of brutal infights between Stewart Snyder and the new Turner executives at the time, all of whom hated either cartoons [Snyder] or action shows specifically [the Turner execs]
The Mooninite Bomb Scare was the moment western animation truly fell into the bad timeline.
I hope any Bostonians reading this thread feel immense civic shame over that bullshit.
It still doesn't make sense to me. How did the Atlanteans not go extinct centuries ago? Any species that goes gay at that rate naturally would be expected to die out.
This anon's right, between that and the new Transformers bombing like crazy it's a sign we're not really in an age where there are artists capable of making good shows at the helm. GLTAS is downright fantastic as a show, and though it finished it left off plenty that could be expanded and made even better, but there's no monkey paw I'd wish on to bring it back in this climate. It just wouldn't be written by people as talented as who made the first go round, the storylines would be forced to pander for stupid shit that would stick out and drag the good stuff down with it. Star Sapphires alone would send a bad writer into a tizzy thinking they need to fix it and as a result frick it up, because they're bad writers and they're not capable of making good stuff in any area, let alone better stuff.
It would've been better for YJ to remain a could've been than a hasbeen. Don't bother bringing them back, dead is better.Thank god for the metric frickload of anime!
>except that isekai is clogging the mainstream. >Clogging
b***h 15 or 16 shows out of 166(Not a typo) is not "Clogging" shit. Just because there's always a new Isekai that picks up traction doesn't mean there isn't an absolute assload of romance, fantasy that isn't about some dude from japan, ghost punchers, punchers of ghosts, and punching magic ghosts.
>If you enjoy SAO knock off isekai slop
What show are you even referring to from 2023? The only one anyone talked about was JJK, Demon Slayer, Mashle, or the new hotness "Elf who does things but she cute and lasers".
Those shitty woke writers just can't measure up, they don't have the talent, they don't have the skill, and they don't have the creativity. They wish they could manage the Isekai stuff, they're sub-"Dude with black hair in a new work" level. Cept for the Puss and Boots 2 writer. That guy surprised me by being really fricking good.
They tell me they're woke, all the fricking time. Twitter opened up the gates for a shitload of untalented narcissists to preach their opinions unfiltered to the world and they bit that shit like a vegan to a steak when nobody's looking. We don't need to suppose anything about any one, they've already vocally said it and unsurprisingly their work as a result just fricking suck.
That you're clinging to SAO shows you're not even capable of anything more, that show hasn't been relevant since before the cooftimes and hasn't even had a knockoff gain traction since before the election. Just so you can update your fetal position typing of desperation, it's all Demon Slayer and Naruto stuff now. Killing demons in grandiose animated fashion, or fighting with overly complicated magic systems, or both. And particle effects. Lots of particle effects. Bleach came back to find out that everyone suddenly decided it apparently had the right idea the whole time. But you're trying to defend woke writers, you were never smart enough to figure that out on your own.
The animation quality tanked after S1. It looked like their budget had been cut and a lot of action scenes were replaced with still images with voiceovers or scenes with minimal movement (two characters sitting down at a table talking, etc.).
>That show is clearly made to pander to 40 something through nostalgia,
That's probably what the execs wanted but you know damn well they're going to frick it up by making it same old same old as every other badly done property out there. Nothing new, just slapping on the same twitter pandering we've been seeing the last 15 years and getting mad when people think it's shit.
Action shows relied on selling toys for funding.
Kids don't buy toys and the corporate heads don't have the mental capability to shift the development paradigms to make them work in the modern age (copy anime merch culture, figures, blue-rays and all)
If they were 20 years younger them might have the ambition to do so but most modern corporate heads outside of the CEO and CFO positions are mostly so old as to be stuck in their ways.
>Earth's Mightiest Heroes
Season 1 is so damn fine, great everything and the best avengers toon ever. Season 2 was a massive step down. >Armored Adventures
Not good but not as bad as people remember, more just kind of eh mixed with bad. >GL
Top tier writing, absolute excellence, perfect for rewatch because both arcs are self contained, would've rivaled DCAU if it hadn't gotten cancelled. >Brave and the Bold
The perfect love letter to the silver age. Ends before it wears out it's welcome. >Young Justice
Season one was iffy, season 2 was a big step up, season 3 was pretty bad and season 4 was genuinely just bad on all fronts. Just, genuinely a bad cartoon. >Ben 10 Alien Force
Not as good as the first one but not the worst.
hey anon, i'm gonna let you in on a little secret networks back then would air both anime and action cartoons and kids watched both the dickwaving contest between jap crap and western shit is exclusive to manchildren who spend all their free time on the internet
I thought it started when the 90s generation of American Animators got mad at being overtaken by foreign imports and started taking snipes at them then giving early proto-weebs a persecution complex that caries over to the modern day.
Yes anon I was there. No one was playing east vs west but ultimately people would talk more about Naruto or Bleach than BATB or EMH. We liked these cartoons and the characters but there's an engagement factor missing that makes people obsess over action anime for years.
I'm telling you as someone who was in school back then. People liked the american cartoons well enough but it was anime that got more attention.
You can plug your ears and call it fake all you want, ultimately you still see people talking about bigger shonen shows than action cartoons from this era. Avatar , Ben 10, and Teen Titans are the only American action cartoons I can think of still really inspiring discussion 20 years on outside of fanboy circles(though with TT it's more for the characters than plot)
Capeshit ultimately doesn't lend to the same sort of engagement because in most of these shows the episodes are self contained and there's no real sort of progression for the characters. No skills developed, no sense of accomplishment for the most part, they basically become ok comfort food shows.
They're still around, just not as frequent. Stretch Armstrong, Big Hero 6: The Series, My Adventures With Superman, the CGI He-Man cartoon, etc. It seems like Batman: Caped Crusader will follow up.
Because WB owns one company and never wants to bother making shit from it.
And Disney owns the other company, and never wants to bother making shit from it.
Isn't consolidation of all media into the hands of just a couple studios great?
The industry is mostly filled with grown children in the showrunning and directing positions who only want to make self insert stories and soapboxes to b***h and moan about their family lives being shit.
The frick you talking about? They're still making action shows. Disney is still putting out animated Marvel shows. DC has been focusing on animated movies because Cartoon Network doesn't give a frick. Ben 10 had that reboot and I don't know what's happening next. We recently had two different He-Man shows and TMNT had Rise, then there was that movie, and maybe another show after that. Is this one of those threads where OP blatantly acts like nothing exists so anons can say made up shit like executives hate action shows or woke this woke that?
>Disney is still putting out animated Marvel shows.
You mean Spider-Man, SMASH and GOTG? All of those are MCU tie-ins and they also ended years ago, get with the times boom boom.

Obviously you don't want to see more isekai made, and that's fair. If it's not to your taste I don't blame you. Not overly fond of isekai or harem anime if I'm honest. But at the risk of arguing in favor of something I don't like, even if I don't like it I can recognize its popularity and I can live with that.
>Why don’t these type of cartoons exist anymore
Cartoons like that only exist for synergy and merchandising, nothing else. The fact any of them were "good" is a miracle in the first place.
Hyper fragility among the people in the industry makes them afraid of trying anything cool with actual sincerity, so they stick to just slice of life and bad comedy since it's easy. That and shitty executives.
They still make Marvel action cartoons and Young Justice is still around. I'm not certain why you're acting like they don't make this. Ben 10 is over but that's cause they milked it to death,
Not enough loreshit for youtube reviewers and autisic woman

But doesn't this kind of thing have lore in it?
but its not the kind of lore those people want. They want stuff to make le hecking cute gay ships and edgy stuff. Not comic book action.
movies get more money and you didn't buy the toys
homosexual, how come you didn't buy the toys? what are doing with your money? I know you're not giving it on hookers you fricking virgin
Women executives disliked them. Simple as.
Well-

And who might that be?
IIRC it was a series of brutal infights between Stewart Snyder and the new Turner executives at the time, all of whom hated either cartoons [Snyder] or action shows specifically [the Turner execs]
The Mooninite Bomb Scare was the moment western animation truly fell into the bad timeline.

They brought one of these shows back, but you homosexuals threw a tantrum over gay fish.
And transgender Muslim sentient computers, but the revival was also shit besides.
It still doesn't make sense to me. How did the Atlanteans not go extinct centuries ago? Any species that goes gay at that rate naturally would be expected to die out.
But they were practicing polyamory, not just being gay, they'd be up for breeding in between gay sex.
More efforts by the israelites to normalize degeneracy I see

EMH is great but Armoured Adventures is more catchy

Because they were overshadowed by their superior predecessors in both story content and artistic quality
Even back then most people just preferred watching anime for action cartoons. This stuff was fun for a bit but the action couldn’t compare
hey anon, i'm gonna let you in on a little secret
