What does Nick even do nowadays? They used to be the shit but now they just kinda meander with old cartoons that succeeded, and trying to recapture that magic again
There's just nothing to em, this isn't your good ol Nickelodeon
I miss Paul

>New Avatar series featuring a Avatar from the Earth Empire
YOU'RE KIDDING ME
FRICKING WHY
Do you think he will watch it? God I hope it's real just so he has to sit thru it and make videos about it it'll be such lolz
Nah he got mogged by Lily Orchad video, waiting if she will watch it for the lolz
>Lily Orchad
What? How? They don't even make similar content and who the hell watches Lily Orchad?
Is he still friends with Luke Weber?
Why they need two big buildings for just 16 shows? unless the majority are preschool shows.
Scissors my beloved
>Current Nicktoon
>Zokie of Planet Ruby
I'm pretty sure it was an upcoming, current, and bygone nicktoon all in the course of one night.
The final night of 2023 no less
>Rock, Paper, Scissors
>Max & the Midknights
These were supposed to be out last year.
I heard there was going to be a Loud House spinoff about the sisters. I think it’s called Sister Chronicles
There is, but even that has some bullshit behind it.
Nickelodeon wanted Lisa to get the spin off and they held a poll for most favorite sister expecting Lisa to when.
But then Lucy won by a long shot and instead of giving Lucy the spin off they just decided to give it to all of the sisters so they can push more Lisa.
>Rock, Paper, Scissors
This is their big show? What the frick
Disney has Big City Greens and Hailey Does It. Even CN with little on the horizon seems better with its repeats.
U forgot Super duper Bunny League
Also the hamster show and the Hexvet animated series, but are they even coming out still or are they getting The Planet Ruby treatment?
Aren't those baby shows? no really i thought they are for Nick Jr
Still Nickelodeon produced. A job's a job, and if they don't show their work, that's basically burning money they could have used to feed their kids/10 cats.
Man and I thought the current Disney and CN lineups were decrepit.
Thank god there’s a ton of content from the 2000s and 2010s I haven’t watched yet the future of animation seems dire.
>What does Nick even do nowadays?
Mostly IP-driven shit
Jesus, Paramount still hasn't learned a thing…
>nothing changed from the 2020 announcement
They opened another shorts program on 2020 but besides Rock, Paper, Scissors they haven't announced the other shorts.
I pitched to their shorts program, but they didn't accept it
What was your short about?
Basically Edgar and Ellen, which makes me wonder if that's why they passed on it if it was too similar
They didn't even produce the original show and I don't think they profit from it anymore, so I don't see why it being similar should be a factor.
I dunno. I think if your elevator pitch is “it’s basically this other show”, then the idea doesn’t have a whole lot going for it.
It wasn’t legit just a copy and paste, it had its own differences in just saying it was kinda similar I just don’t want to give away my concept tbh becuase I’m trying to produce it independently and don’t want to dox myself
>Kamp Koral, Big Nate, Transformers, and Star Trek
>The Loud House, their biggest 2D cartoon since Spongebob, is nowhere
That's gratitude for you.
All the 3D looks bad.
Is there any recent shows that you know that have better 3D CGI animation on a TV budget?
I guess the design is what looks unoriginal.
With the exception of Sandy and Spongbob having fur and pores and the pirates with a little shine, it looks like all the others could be on the same show.
Maaaaybe?
As someone who has seen Santiago, Big nate and the nu-Rugrats, I can say that they have their own unique differences in how they're designed and animated.
Santiago is probably the most colorful and well-crafted of the CGI Nick jr shows, with the water effects and character designs within the show. This is honestly how I would have pictured a Dora 3D series to look like.
Big Nate has a sort of animation style that's akin to something like the Peanuts movie on a budget. It gets away with a lot more in terms of scale and how big the world is in exchange for quality.
Rugrats is the biggest offender, because the style of Klasky-Csupo was never intended to merge with 3D. But if you were forced to make it look like a 3D cartoon, there's worse ways that this could be done.
> the style of Klasky-Csupo was never intended to merge with 3D
Previous attempts at this have failed as well. Ronald McDonald’s dog from the live action segments still haunts my dreams.
What about the videogames?
Ugh, twins suffered the worst from that game.
>TIMMY QUICK WISH FOR US NOT TO TURN INTO A MARKETABLE LOGO
>HELGA HELGA HELP ME THEY'RE TURNING ME INTO E IT HURTS SO MUCH I CAN FEEL MY LUNGS GETTING CRUSHED
>WE'RE SURE TO GET ONE OF THOSE NOBEL PRIZE THINGIES WITH OUR I TRANSMOGRIFIER NOW THAT WE'VE TESTED IT ON THAT POINTY WEASEL!
>GET THAT N-BUTT GREASERS!
UH OH
They don't even care about shows they made themselves.
Zokie on planet Ruby embodies this.
Why that logo? It's been like a decade at least since any of those shows were relevant
It's funny how the biggest Nicktoons currently running aren't even in the logo.
They think nostalgia baiting is a good tactic.
Cause they barely make cartoons nowadays aside loud house and spongebob.
In my country the channel is known mostly for lame live action series nowadays.
They haven’t been the same after CH Greenblatt exposed them for the cheapskate company they are ever since his show got canned and dumped on Nicktoons.
That conceding with
>Loud House being a hit
>Chris Savino fired for sexual harassment
>Hillenburgs death
>Dan Schneider and Butch Hartman leaving the company
They’ve just been playing shit safe and rebooting shit, buying nostalgic IPs, making spin-offs of IPs, and still milking SpongeBob despite the shows golden years being over.
It's sad but they deserved it
>Screwing Schauer continously over with dumb restrictions; not airing the final episode of Angry Beavers, because the Beavers blatantly tell that this is the final episode and they're getting cancelled
>Delay ChalkZone's premiere for 3 years while season 1 was finished in 2000
>airing the final season of As Told By Ginger over a span of 18 years, over 4 channels, with the two final episodes being released in January 2021
>Renew Invader Zim for a second season, immediately cancel it 4 months after announcing it, resulting in S2 having only 7 episodes, which only 1 aired on Nick in 2002, while the rest premiered on NickToons in 2006
>Airing Jimmy Neutron and Danny Phantom's final seasons out of order
>cancelling MLAATR, ChalkZone, Catscratch, The X's, El Tigre, Back at the Barnyard, Mighty B over not being up to SB ratings-wise
>The Making Fiends Disaster
>Sporadically sending more and more shows straight to NickToons after premiering (TUFF Puppy, Breadwinners, Robot and Monster, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Rabbids Invasion Harvey Beaks, Bunsen is a Beast, Welcome to the Wayne) and then cancelling them after one or two seasons for not having SB ratings
>Allowing CN & Disney to take Ed, Edd n Eddy, Adventure Time,Phineas and Ferb, Regular Show and now Magic Children Doing Things which ended up becoming huge hits for the network
Nickelodeon is awful.
All they think they need is SpongeBob [/spoiler] And they're right
>they cancelled the 4th season of The Angry Beavers when it was still in production
SpongeBob was just that big of a hit
> >
>airing the final season of As Told By Ginger over a span of 18 years, over 4 channels, with the two final episodes being released in January 2021
Wait wtf, why??
>Ed, Edd n Eddy, Adventure Time,Phineas and Ferb, Regular Show and now Magic Children Doing Things
those shows succeeded because they were in the minor leagues (CN), if they had actually gone to a real network they would've gotten mogged by Spongebob and FOP.
If they had gone to Nickelodeon the network would have butchered all of them, Adventure Time would have had triple the fart jokes and would have been cancelled after 2 seasons
Was that preferable to what happened to the show post season 6?
No, but barely
>Mighty B
The show was actually cancelled because Amy Poehler got too busy with other projects at that time.
Since it did pretty well when it first premiered.
It’s cancellation was revealed on CartoonBrew a year when the show was still airing
I loved Might B man, that show was completely different than the other stuff Nick was showing at the time. I miss it
Don’t forget Nelvana’s international rights to FOP fricking over any plans for Nick to produce more merchandise, making any FOP related video games, and a complete series box set.
Actually Nick can still do all that stuff with FOP, but only in North America. Every other continent is fricked.
Honestly while i agree that all this is bad it'd be a double standard for you to hate on Nick for these things while not giving the same amount of shit to CN and Disney. Not to mention that the person responsible for most of this has been fired years ago. It's silly to blame a group of people for the actions of one crazy lady.
Because most animation "fans" believe CN and Disney treat their original shows more fairly and give them a better chance to tell their whole story than they would have on Nick. Even if the shit is Thundercats Roar levels of bad, they'd latch onto it and raise the respective networks up for giving it a chance, whereas with Nick, it would have a cliffhanger ending teasing a second season, be booted over to Nicktoons, and lose to SpongeBob reruns. Yet they'll kick Disney in the back still for canceling The Owl house and shit on the new CN at the same time.
It's pretty clear to see that no one knows how to make a new original show that captures everyone's attention anymore, and no one knows what they want out of an original series anymore.
Yeah beacuse Brian Robbins era at Nickelodeon is a major improvement than her.....
I just said that Zarghami got fired, didn't say it got any better.
But at least Brian feels like everything bad he does is out of moronicness and not out of any cruel, vindictive malice.
Why are you lumping me in with this? I just said CN and Disney have it just as bad but people still suck their dicks over new original series.
>TUFF Puppy
I'll never not be angry about this. This was my first exposure to Nick's shitty management and then I learned about stuff like MLAATR which got it way worse
>Delay ChalkZone's premiere for 3 years while season 1 was finished in 2000
Like this also. Fricking really? What was the risk to putting it on the air shortly after completion?
Fun fact about Tuff Puppy. It was greenlit when Butch pitched five new shows to Nickelodeon (We have no idea what the other four were) and out of the five Nickelodeon loved Tuff Puppy the most so they greenlit it.
Ironically enough Tuff Puppy was Butch's least favorite of the five he pitched.
They still put it aside and released all the new episodes on NickToons.
Yeah, I'm aware of that story. It's crazy because Butch literally made shit up on the spot (according to him) and realized he had to make it all into a real show after the pitch. Really bizarre how it worked out in the end.
There's a few really weird development stories about that, one of the henchmen was meant to be a separate villain in development according to a Butch Tiktok but was merged into Snaptrap's gang in the final show. I've got a suspicion this happened to another character too
At least we got Kitty Katswell out of it. It's always nice to have a character who's built for human men.
Stfu schizo
You forgot
>Dumping a new Nicktoon on the final day of 2023 onto Amazon Prime for no discernible reason
>Magic Children Doing Things
Do we have any update on this show, it's been mentioned for a while but I've nothing of it. Can anyone redpill me whether it's true and what updates of this show or is this another spamming that the katz cafe gay kept spamming until it was confirmed that it wasn't greenlit and it's just another vaporware.
Monica Ray is trying to sell it to Disney.
Last update was on November during a IG Live with Monica Ray mentioning that Bob Iger's return made Disney legal slow things down with the buyout.
>They haven’t been the same after CH Greenblatt exposed them for the cheapskate company they are ever since his show got canned and dumped on Nicktoons.
Based beacuse the majority of his crew are doing their own shows at Disney
>They haven’t been the same after CH Greenblatt exposed them for the cheapskate company they are ever
I remember Emmy Cicierega mentioning that everyone now prefers to pitch to Disney TVA as a second option over Nick.
No offence to creators but if that's the best they have to offer then maybe Nick just dodged some bullets.
>Maybe Nick just dodged some bullets
Yeah.... sure
I was referring to what was on that Anon's image, the one with Primos on it.
Kiff is pretty good, especially the music.
Brad Breeck doesnt miss
What's the show in the bottom right corner with three characters?
I think that's Suburbia, which was mentioned constantly in DTVA threads. By the way things are going over there, that most likely got shitcanned too.
Greenblatt was asking for it tbh. He constantly broke NDA on his Tumblr blog and wasn't taking the job seriously.
Shut up Nickshill
Just sayin, he couldn't keep his mouth shut.
NTA but why is it a shill to state the facts?
He's telling the truth, nick only cares about shilling the yellow sponge to death as if this is there only source of income that they're getting from than anything else out of Nick with the Viacom media belt and quite frankly may have contributed into others being angered about the treatment which sorta happened with Amphibia's True Colors episode being delayed but then leaked and released, which was a sure fire towards a few creators calling Disney out for that. Anyways, when CH called out Nick for treating his show unfairly, may lead anybody unwilling to risk placing anything without being axe after 1-2 seasons.
I'm not saying he's lying or anything like that, i'm just saying that he was talking about some NDA stuff on his Tumblr blog, such as leaking the Invader Zim movie.
Butch Hartman is still at Nick.
I don't think Anon knew that Butch came crawling back to Nick after his solo career crashed and burned.
because they don't make anything interesting
Anon, not even nickelodeon cares about their own animation outside of the yellow menace.
There's not much to say, they peaked during the 90's and Spongebob and Avatar have carried the channel since, they pick the worst shows, cancel the ones with potential and they let Nick Jr pretty much take over
Actually they peaked during the early 2000s during the Scannell era. That guy really knew how to bring Nickelodeon to new heights only for it to be shit on by Zrghami.
>IP, IP, IP, IP, IP, IP-LODEOOOOON...
That Optimus looks uncannily like Rick without his faceplate.
Fixed
What even is that purple slug thing?
Murph from now ex-Nicktoon, Star trek Prodigy.
Monster High is the only good thing from Nu-Nick
Draculaura is best girl
Cleo is better
Because Nickelodeon doesn't give a shit anymore. They just want endless reboots, spin offs and adaptations.
They only make shit for really young kids so there's really not that much to talk about with them.
Cartoon Network has no cartoons
Looks like they're banking on that Cocomelon money and pushing preschool shows now like everyone else
Is The Twisted Timeline of Sammy & Raj forgotten already?
It's weird it didn't air in the US until a year after it premiered in Europe.
This is all your fault for not watching Breadwinners
