It's gotten better. The problem is that when you make something realistic instead of CGI, it tends to look "worst" than CGI because surprise real life tends to look mundane.
>worst
why do morons struggle so much with this
that shit makes me loose my mind
I mean, people could of read a book amd not make this stupid mistakes.
I'm going to fricking kil you.
>worst
Good morning sir
Avatar was not the earlt 2000s you fricking gorilla
It began production in the early 2000s
this is now a practical effects appreciation thread
>Avatar
>Early 2000's
its a 2007 movie
Shitty special effect companies from some 3rd world country
Things have been made easier and skills have degraded. It's like how modern zoomers are the most "tech connected" and yet are morons when it comes to how tech works under the hood because everything has been simplified and streamlined for them.
now it's made by slave pajeets
>made by the best of the best
>made by the lowest bidder
Old CGI was made by people who remembered that kinetic energy, and weight in general, exists.
It's cheaper to hire jeets.
They outsource their CG out to indians and chinks.
For the last 10 years James Cameron has headhunted every good vfx artist out there and locked them in a dungeon at Weta to work on Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5
movies these days are just money laundering schemes, they do not put any money into their special effects. and normies have been brainwashed to not care about low-quality cgi.
Why would you want to work as an animator to get paid barely enough to pay rent in those areas, when you can just animate stuff on your own for shitty social media videos? If you are competent you aren't going to work for disney or any other Hollywood studio to suffer for minimal pay.
Because every show and movie uses it and there's only a handful of good studios for it. Even the good ones are stretched to the point of putting out garbage in even the most high profile movies.
Not CGI.
Honestly, I still think CGI peaked in 1992. Yes, what came afterwards was more technically advanced, but there's a certain rough charm that was lost.
truly a cgi gem
>I AM COB HERE
Those Marvel images are from the cinema / first round streaming releases though, not the alpha release.
>it's an alpha!
>it's a beta!
>first day patch fill fix it!
The absolute state of current year.
Because the goyim will now eat up whatever you serve it, why waste money on making it look good.
I think that many computer graphics studios have been getting completely fricked over by hollywood for the past decade or so
but it's no one's fault really
liberals have no talent
CGI used to be used to do stuff previously not possible or easily do able with practical effects, if it was used there was generally a purpose for it.
Nowadays CGI is a catch-all shortcut that most movies use for even the slightest tiny thing. There's no effort or goal in its use beyond it being a cheap option
