Solos was worse. Remember how everyone jockeyed for the big trucks and shit and just drove it around the map until the final circle looked like a truck stop with half a dozen vehicles? Cheesy as shit. Not to mention quite literally half the lobby camping in the big buildings near the promenade, hospital or downtown area with handheld heartbeat sensors. I'm sure as shit not pro enough to play in such a mode without seething at getting dropped by campers.

Infinite Warfare had the absolute best campaign and I've played since CoD2
Pre-2000s people used to want to get their favourite thing adapted into a movie because that was the be all and end all of entertainment.
That isn't the case anymore with videogames they've been wiping the floor in terms of popularity with all the other entertainment forms for about 2 decades now.
At this point the most famous vidya is already as popular as its ever gonna be and likely making more money as a game than any film. Something like a COD film would cost a shit load of money to do right and probably still struggle to bring in a fraction of the audience that the games do.
Current modern warfare is just Hollywood cia slop adapted into a video game. It would not bring anything new.

Starting with cod4 you had loud American run and gun missions juxtaposed with sneaky British missions. The British missions being more important to the plot meant that the characters stuck better and eventually became more iconic. There's also the fact that all American characters died in cod4.

Using those as mortars/artillery across the map was awesome.
Also throwing C4 over the hedgerows on the open field map with the central trench. Getting an AC130 on that map with Danger Close was just unfair.
