All the movies and TV shows since 9/11 sucks. Some big change hapenned and its just getting worse since then. Not just that,music,games,books... everything is only getting worse in 21st century.
BoB is overrated. So is Saving Private Ryan. Truth is ever since Spielberg made left his shitty mark on the war movie genre people tried to copy his success instead of making their own things and it has irreparably changed the genre as a whole.
We will never see another Bridge Too Far or Das Boot because stories want to be character driven dramas where we hear people's thoughts and they monologue about their feelings while patriotic sounding music swells so we know when its supposed to be a solemn moment and the action scenes are shakey cam, jump cut every 2-3 seconds, frantic nonsense to convince you "war is le chaotic" while people yell over gunshots and hear eachother perfectly and nobody interrupts eachother or does anything to actually make a scene seem chaotic.

Everything's being replaced with CGI. And what's more is the CGI is really sloppy. Nothing looks real anymore. Masters of the Air? Not even the fricking sky looks real. It might be, but those giant fake planes make everything around it look fake as well. Anyway I actually liked Hacksaw Ridge and All Quiet on the Western Front. Not as good but definitely didn't suck I don't think.

The movie has many of the same problems as Master of the Air - terrible actors chosen b/c they look like models instead of servicemen, trash CGI, unconvincing dialogue, lack of narrative, etc.
