The fight scenes between him and other people in the FF movies are so shit because they have to count how many punches each one lands on the other, so that the Rock can't end up "losing" by being beaten up more than the other person.
Imagine if Jackie Chan was moronic enough to have that rule.
This is a big factor honestly. Hero characters are boring if they never get hurt or fail at anything. Look at Jackie Chan in anything or Indiana Jones. They might win in the end but they regularly get their asses kicked too so when they do some superhuman thing you actually believe that a hero it the elements lined up just right actually could pull it off. Superman beating up goons is boring
Mainly because he actually wanted to ACT instead of just being himself to get an ego boost from everyone watching him punch people. He also didn't have moronic "I can't lose, count the punches" clauses to his contracts like The Rock has, nor did he treat it as some kind of huge PR campaign where his character must either be the good guy or a really cool antihero that everyone wants to be.
The only difference between the two is that The Rock genuinely thinks he'll get a career in politics after he's done having fun acting, just like Arnie, and so he's deathly afraid that stuff will ruin his image and ruin his chances. Batista doesn't give a shit.
>others like Rock failed?
both of them literally became globohomosexual plants. rocks coach told him to swear on joe rogaine to make himself seem cooler with the elk eating crowd. they are frauds.
because The Rock only seeks out safe blockbuster projects for the past decade or two. Though his new A24 project directed by the Uncut Gems directors was announced today so maybe he's actually becoming interested in trying something new finally
1. willing to be a character instead of just playing an idealized version of himself
2. this boy zesty af and that goes a long way in getting a push
3. he was a memeable part of MCU when it was red-hot
he might be "weapons are not only welcomed, they're allowed" and Kanye Batista to Cinemaphile but normies know him as the funny autistic warrior guy from Guardians of the Galaxy.
I really enjoyed his "big guy teams up w/ little kid" movie that all of them do at some point, I think it was a prime exclusive. But I can't even remember a damn thing about tooth fairy.
He was a better actor and cared more about the roles than his own ego. Unfortunately he fricked his whole career by getting his moronic plastic surgery that makes him look like a crying drag queen
"The Rock" on WWF/WWE was entirely ego. You watched to see the Rock be a smug goofy butthole talking about how great he is. It becomes pretty boring to see him tone that DOWN to be in movies where he plays some seroous badass.
"Batista" on WWE was essentially a silent huge guy who was always angry and scowling. Because of that, it's very easy to see him as endearing when he displays any emotion other than anger and rage.
Same reason people love Emilia Clarke being cute and bubbly compared to the scowling wet fart that is Daenerys
You can't convey the full range of emotions necessary for being a versatile actor when you're on that many steroids. Bautista is on less steroids than the rock, so he has more range.
he said when he got his guardians role, he immediately enrolled in acting classes because the role was too big to phone in. he actually TRIES to act. does he succeed? ymmv, but the rock just plays himself, never aspires to be anything better
> but the rock just plays himself
*the clean cut family friendly innocuous funny version of himself
That man is under more layers of PR restrictions than any other actor in Hollywood except for Tom Cruise.
Not sure what you mean by “succeeded.” The Rock is maybe the highest paid actor on the planet, and if you are measuring success by acting credibility, I’m not sure if Dave has much of that either. He certainly has more credibility than the Rock though
Other wrestlers were basically all conservatives until Hollywood grinded them down, whereas this guy was smart enough to say the dumb delusional shit that Hollyisraelite wanted from the start
he didn't mind being the sidekick or more minor roles.
Or losing a fight
I am just now learning that the rock has a clause in every contract he signs for a movie that he can’t lose a fight. What a homosexual
good, he has an image to maintain
do you have any idea how many losers would put their self insert beating up The Rock in their movie if they could?
not an image, an ego
that's why the rock is just the rock in a film and bautista is an actor
The fight scenes between him and other people in the FF movies are so shit because they have to count how many punches each one lands on the other, so that the Rock can't end up "losing" by being beaten up more than the other person.
Imagine if Jackie Chan was moronic enough to have that rule.
It's even worse than Stephen Seagal because at least Seagal fully commits to being a literal god who cannot be touched or harmed in any fight scene.

this and he also has a more versatile range and look
Acting Talent
???????????
He seems to enjoy being an actor and taking different character roles where the Rock only enjoys being himself.
He looks like Tunbaak.
Are we brothers?
The Rock continues to draws dimes while Davey boy stars in flop after flop that isn't Marvelslop lmao.
The Rock is AAPI + Black
Bautista is AAPI + White
Mainly because he actually wanted to ACT instead of just being himself to get an ego boost from everyone watching him punch people. Lets just say he fits in more with the "Hollywood lifestyle."
Let's just say the Rock fits just as well
Not nearly as well as Davey.
The only difference between the two is that The Rock genuinely thinks he'll get a career in politics after he's done having fun acting, just like Arnie, and so he's deathly afraid that stuff will ruin his image and ruin his chances. Batista doesn't give a shit.
Isn't afraid to experiment with his roles, doesn't play a gary stu in every movie
>others like Rock failed?

At least the Rock didn’t turn up the Zest dial in the 2020’s.

The Rock is not a bad actor but he keeps getting awful scripts. I don't get it.
Dishonored live action when?
You can't convey the full range of emotions necessary for being a versatile actor when you're on that many steroids. Bautista is on less steroids than the rock, so he has more range.
I'm glad they made a short for his character in 2049, I was kind of disappointed that he got offed so early in the movie
Art imitates life
In what world did the pebble fail you moron, or do worse than Bautista
OP IS gay
he said when he got his guardians role, he immediately enrolled in acting classes because the role was too big to phone in. he actually TRIES to act. does he succeed? ymmv, but the rock just plays himself, never aspires to be anything better

good point to bring up. bautista is at least somewhat genuine, and has tolf people to frick off when they were being rude to him
bootista
Not sure what you mean by “succeeded.” The Rock is maybe the highest paid actor on the planet, and if you are measuring success by acting credibility, I’m not sure if Dave has much of that either. He certainly has more credibility than the Rock though
The Rock is starring in a Benny Safdie A24 film. Tick tock Big Dave
10 littycoins have been deposited into your account
In what universe has the Rock "failed"?
Other wrestlers were basically all conservatives until Hollywood grinded them down, whereas this guy was smart enough to say the dumb delusional shit that Hollyisraelite wanted from the start
Isn't The Rock one of the highest paid actors still? I know he has been THE highest paid in previous years.
