Not that I care about the thread topic or anything, but shitting on bad taste increases the possibility that what you like is created instead. Many artists were bullied off of platforms for making things and came back by making different things. From a pragmatic point of view bullying people for taste is almost always a net positive. It also discourages newer creators from creating that material because they want to avoid being bullied.
>shitting on bad taste increases the possibility that what you like is created instead
Doesn't that only work if the one doing the shitting is either a respected/known creator in the same line of work (bonus points for a creator declaring their old work as shit) or a large enough number of people (bonus points if society as a whole)?
OP's singular anonymous opinion, even if I could agree with it on a personal level, will evoke nothing but mockery from the people that enjoy the thing he's shitting on, and will most likely reinforce their liking of it because some rando was seething over it, so they must be right. If it was (in this context) the creator of the mandela catalogue seething, hell, if it was merely wendigoon seething, the effects would be vastly different.
It also discourages people from creating anything new or unique because they're too scared of getting dogpiled on the internet for making something a large group of people personally didn't like.
>can't come up with an actual defense of a thing they like >"erm, uh, just let people like stuff okay!"
You can't even explain why you like it or what makes it good
This is one of the most moronic things I have ever read on this site. You lack the ability to form a single critical thought. Actually, unironically, have a nice day.
Are you a furry? Because you're basically saying you live like an animal

Yeah you're not going to get a single thing of value by trying to sculpt human beings as someone who Lacks creativity. You're just going to get porn and trend chasing from artists who come out with they/them pronouns and shopping around for pharmaceutical drugs to prevent thoughts of killing themselves.
I bet you don't look at anything made before Gravity Falls to avoid seeing what real creativity is so you can enjoy abusing people
I think it mixes some stuff that appeals to a lot of demographics. >It has colorful identifiable characters >Its kind of creepy so teens gravitate towards it but also not too creepy that children can't get in the bandwagon too. >Horror attracts tubers and is easy reaction material >Casually there is some lore attached so MattPad and friends make free publicity too.
>Kids are permanently online nowadays >Look up kiddie things because they're kids >Find a scary version of this >Find out that their friends like it too >Tell stories on the playground about scary kiddie things they find online
Tale as old as the internet.
>Kids think they're mature for watching it >Safe scary, so no gore to terrify kids >Easily recognisable characters for merchandising >Plenty of lorebait to discuss, and "theorists" to content farm
Kids have always loved scary stories. Even in the 50's kids would stay up at night to catch a monster movie on tv or something. Mascots are just a better way to focus their attention instead of generic characters in some random scary scenario. I assume the extra lore makes it feel more real to them.
Oh man, I feel this.
I don't want to listen to three hours of some zoomer fiction shit when I subscribed to a channel that was talking about real and real(ish) subjects. You know who you are. ARG shit was bad enough.
I'm indifferent to analog horror, zoomies can enjoy what they enjoy, I just don't want it shoved in my face.
No seriously, I genuinely 100% do not even on a theoretical level get it. I mean, do you people think this is real? Because THAT scares me. It's like the creepypastas and SCPs without a single shred of plausiblity.
Unironically it's just a bunch of underaged that shit and piss their pants whenever they come across outdated technology and are obsessed with YouTube deep lore video essays for the most banal shit imaginable.
>It's not even scary
That's why it's so popular. It's basically Goosebumps for the new generation: a very mild introduction to horror for children and teenagers.
First we had SCP/Creepypasta
Then we had ARGs/Game Theory shit
Now we have analog horror
I'm sure by the end of the decade we'll have some new internet horror trend that's mostly popular with children, like all the rest of it was.
imagine being so mad that people are enjoying things, you go out of your way to make art out of your seething being
Some people are just too bitter.
Found the twelve year olds
What exactly were you hoping to achieve with this post?

Do you think this every time you see parody?
>parody
Where is the humor?
YOU ARE THEIR SON genuinely made me chuckle and I'm into this shit unironically. But maybe that's why it's funny to me.
>go out of your way to make art
It's literally MS paint scribbles that probably took like 20 minutes to make
You're obviously the one seething here
>can't come up with an actual defense of a thing they like
>"erm, uh, just let people like stuff okay!"
You can't even explain why you like it or what makes it good
...why would anyone need to come up with a defense for the things they like? Are you stupid?
Fun things are fun, that's all there is to it.

Horror that is anything more than tepid is problematic in their culture. Freddy Krueger saying "bitch" overloads their brains
1. You're doing a racism 2. Hedonists who only care about pleasure are evil
That's your problem, you're trying to accomplish things for your career and stuff instead of being honest
It's just kids that are online finding something scary, basically the same thing that happened with FNAF back in the day.

No horror is.
Think about it:
"But how will being scary help sell our product?"
"Product?"

I didn't dislike it until so many of my favorite paranormal youtubers started jumping on it.

okay gramps let's get you to bed
It’s not popular at all. You just have a bunch of zoomer discord groomers spamming this garbage everywhere.
le horrorgay has arrived
See
it’s the same troony spamming their troony waifu everywhere, same file name and everything.
