Because The Rock is a charisma vacuum and literally hasn’t appeared in a single memorable movie.
you are right but i like the rundown
Nothing Arnold has starred in comes close to Pain&Gain
Pain&Gain is shit and doesn't hold a candle to Predator, T1, T2, or Total Recall
The Running Man and Conan have considerable flaws but I would also vastly prefer them to Pain&Gain
Stop shilling
name one line from that movie without googling
If it bleeds, we can kill it.
that's from BvS
No pain no gain, compadre. Now give me ten more!
IM HOT IM BIG
china fricking crap
what a fricking delusional post
Say what you want about Rock but at least he has range. Arnold has never managed to deliver a meaningful dramatic scene past stonefaced getting dipped into molten steel at the end of T2
Wrong.
>he has range
>the rock
what are you smoking my man
>Rock
>range
Black person what, the directors have to do everything in their power just to stop him from raising his fricking eyebrow in every single movie, and he's too self-conscious about always being a badass to ever take on a heartfelt comedy project like Arnie did with Junior.
>Say what you want about Rock but at least he has range.
And where is this PHANTOM range?
>If you smeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrr!
>What The Wok, is cooking
underrated
>Rock but at least he has range
He was funny in Be Cool as the gay henchman, I'll give you that.
Nobody gives a shot about action stars anymore unless they're in capeshit (yes I know hes in a capeshit but it bombed)
Annie has been in cult classics for over 40 years, while the Rock was a homosexual wrestler and starred in B tier movies at best for years, occasionally co-starring with some bigger names. Most of his films are shit like GI Joe and Jumanji, kid friendly action slop
I don't think Terminator is a "cult classic".
the rock is a big shiny nobody whereas arnie is a literal legend
arnold made good movie, rock didn't
simple as
>(also I think the rock's insistence on playing nice guy/tough but noble hero roles has limited him to very specific, forgettable films)
who are you quoting
Arnold was the best example of someone living the American Dream
The Rock only plays The Rock. Maui was his biggest departure, and that's the only character of his I can actually give you the name of.
>Maui was his biggest departure
Just wait for the live action remake they're making. I bet he'll make them change things so that he's just The Rock yet again.
There was that one time he played the villain in Doom
That was 22 years ago anon
>Doom was 22 years ago
It's really quite simple. Arnold has made classics, the Rock has not.
The Rocks "films" are popcorn movies. There is nothing ground-breaking about them.
Are you old enough to remember the hype around T2?
It was one of the highest budget motion pictures of the time. It had ground-breaking special effects.
Then my homie Arnold makes True Lies? God damn man, my dude is in some CLASSICS.
Off the top of my head I can't name 1 Rock movie.
Also, check em
How bizarre
I might be completely wrong but it always seemed to me like Arnold was along the ride for his movies because he was surrounded by talented and unique directors who knew how to use him. It’s why Pain and Gain was probably one of his better roles because no matter what you want to say about Michale Bay he has a style. He was also good in Jumanji. Also, The Rock on the other hand shoves his own personal crap into movies. What I mean is how he has to shove people like Kevin Hart or Samoan background into things in attempts to do shitty comedy or show off “mug heritage.”
By better roles I obviously mean for the rock not Arnie
Not charismatic enough. Which is crazy because he was such money when cutting a promo & in the ring.
Name a character he has played.
The rock always plays the rock in every single roll. So know your roll and shut your mouths
Stone Rockwell
Rocky Boulder
Craig Flint
Hercules
Either Hobbs or Shaw
The Tooth Fairy
Dan Gridirongame
stay litty Cinemaphile
Arnie's a total shabbos goy now but his 10th best movie is still better than the Rock's best which would be....the Rundown? Jumanji? His career output is really underwhelming.
>Rock's best which would be....the Rundown? Jumanji?
I would say Faster but i didn't watch Pain&Gain.
The Pebble is a manlet
>mfw that "FF spin-off" where the rock and jason statham went full capeshit saving the world from a villain who has actual superpowers
It takes some real moronation to make the main FF franchise seem grounded in comparison.
Vin Diesel is such a weird guy
probably cause he never turns down a role. It seems,
which results in the over-saturation of shitty movies with this guy in all of em.
He does turn down roles, actually. He refuses to play straight villains or someone who gets beat up by the hero, for example. He only appeared as The Scorpion King in the mummy movie because he got a contract that said they had to give him a spin-off prequel where he's the hero, and he ruined the pretty good Black Adam casting by not allowing them to make him a villain that gets defeated by Shazam.
Imagine if Arnie had said no to playing The Terminator because he didn't want to "ruin his image" by playing an evil character.
In fact his roles are highly, carefully curated. More than most actors. He's always a producer on his films for a reason.
T2 would be enough on its own
because despite having the love of wrestling fans at the time, that meant frickall for transitioning to movies
and the kind of movies he would work best in, the macho action movies, were already dying by the time he came on the scene
>The Terminator
>Terminator 2: Judgement Day
>Conan the Barbarian
>Predator
>True Lies
>Total Recall
>Twins
>The Running Man
>Commando
>Last Action Hero
It's not bad for a bodybuilder with a thick Austrian accent.
Rock's most memorable appearance is the cgi scorpion king at the end of The Mummy Returns
Honestly, the scenes where he's in the desert and sells his soul was pretty intriguing. Too bad they completely ruined that story with the Scorpion King movie/s.
We always have this thread and the answer is always the same: the filmography. Arnie has the movies, Rocky doesn't.
>Rocky doesn't.
Funny, considering that the Rock would actually have turned down starring in Rocky because of how it ends with him being punched blind and losing. His ego wouldn't be able to handle it. And if he DID take the role he would be utterly incapable of acting on Stallone's level, turning the movie into a pile of shit with no soul. Like, just imagine The Rock trying to do the awkward flirting scenes. He just wouldn't be able to do them. The closest he comes is in Jumanji but even there you've got the comedy angle that means he won't have to actually put his heart in it, and he's outshone by literally everyone else who's playing kids in adult bodies.
Because Rock fricking sucks at acting.
Stone man is a jungle Black person
because arnie is charismatic, funny and smart despite his goofy accent while the rock is just a straight up boring closeted homo
>boring closeted homo
Honestly not sure if he is. He's so fricking boring that he might actually be a closeted asexual.
