T1 is a low budget sci-fi with a good script. Too much money always ruins sci-fi since they spend all their time showing off special effects and expensive sets.

I like him in both movies for different reasons. In 1 he is a cold calculating killer, in 2 he is heroic. And it's crazy how with just a few tiny adjustments in behaviour that can be conveyed. Arnold doesn't get enough credit as an actor.

What are you talking about? Every kid growing up in the 80s and 90s that wasn't a limp wristed homosexual saw him as a fricking hero. This guy defined my childhood.
He meant his acting ability. The common opinion is he's likeable and oozes charisma, but can't act. He actually can act in his niche bubble and that becomes a lot more apparent if you watch a couple of his films that were made over a decade apart. Watch End of Days after Conan and it's more obvious the guy was a significantly better actor than he was given credit for.
Because he talked less. He has a funny voice. In T1 he only has a few lines and it's threatening. In T2 it's too much. Kinda like Bale's Batman. In Begins he only growls to a few people and it's frightening. In Dark Knight he throat cancers to anyone and everyone and it's silly.

Arnold can't do dramatic roles. He's natural as the clueless everyman despite not looking like one, and he can play characters that are in some way less or more than a mere man (like a robot or a cartoon supervillain). Force him to play anything that's too complicated and he's out of his depth, like in T2 where he has to play a robot that becomes more human over time. You give those roles to good actors instead.
You’re dead wrong about T2. He pulled it off very well. If he didn’t, nobody given a shit when he’s lowered into lava at the end.
