denis can state whatever he wants. it's a matter of fact that he sucks at making his worlds feel believable and alive (yes, he has post-rationalized an "in-universe" explanation, but in reality he just knows he's incapable of potraying real human worlds; his films are elaborate plays, empty soulless stages)
