midwest gay here, midwest is basically a 70/30 split of salt of the earth nice neighborly folks and absolute ghetto/trailer trash. Not sure about other regions, But The region I live in is nice because even during peak Black Lives Matter everyone just chilled and went about business as usual. I will say tho, I can see myself getting along better with East Coast folks instead of West Coast people
When I went to the Midwest there was a feeling of generational white trash and a somehow a surprising amount of ghetto and trashy Mexican and black youth and coal burners. Felt like every millennial was just letting themselves go.

Where isn't like that? I've lived in San Diego and Seattle and have had extended stays in Portland and the Bay area. Same attitude all up and down the coast, unless you're talking about the rural areas but rednecks everywhere are basically nice and kind people

Rabid egalitarianism and utopianism. The underpinning faith of the modern liberal progressive is that there is an essential equivalence between human souls. This means every person you meet must by this assumption be equally capable, equally intelligent, etc.. Of course visible reality does not correspond to this, so according to the liberal progressive, it must be that society is organized in such a way as to prejudicially prevent the downtrodden from realizing their innate capacities. Essentially all poor outcomes are the product of poor circumstance. They are in fact well meaning, but as far as practical policy goes this is absolutely ruinous, and the best that a progressive liberal can conceive is to essentially further subsidize or otherwise justify poor conduct. Considering an example, such as with the homelessness crisis, the progressive liberal goes on with a perpetual amnesia regarding what the policy has been for years now. They will say the answer is 'more housing,' or 'more shelters,' or whatever else, ignoring that this has been the effective policy along the entire west coast for 20 years. In that time the problem has only multiplied, and today every major city in the west coast now subsists with a homicidal underclass which progressives empathy oriented worldview is unable to understand. They cannot accept that their solutions do not work, so they delude themselves that they simply haven't been tried yet. Or worse they drop the pretense entirely, and instead proclaim that standards of public conduct are in fact a prejudice, and of course unfair. Any criticism of this is of course in their eyes proof that the supposed downtrodden are in fact oppressed, your words justifying this in their eyes. What this whole worldview has meant practically is the annihilation of all serious standards and expectations of public conduct, of completely uncontrolled migration from central America, and of I genuinely think genetic decline.
