It isn’t. You just think of a manic pixie dream girl when you think of an autistic girl, not an ugly fat chick who can’t read the room, talks a little too loudly, and spouts facts about horses for hours on end or does terrible impersonations of tv characters well beyond the polite laughter phase and well into the “everyone is getting uncomfortable with this shit and is sick of humoring her, why won’t she shut up” phase.

I do wonder why the phrase "autistic girl" makes some people automatically imagine a cute one

The various characteristics of Autism, done by a girl are basically moe. Can't look you in the eyes, gets animatedly excited about random interests regardless of your interest in them, flinches at loud noises or too many people talking at once, getting stuck in comfortably familiar ruts. These kinds of vulnerability are looked down on in males, but in females it's attractive.

Again, this only really works when you think of a cute girl and it’s attractive because she’s cute. You’re imagining someone who is “quirky”, but actual autism is annoying as shit to deal with on a daily basis. The truth is that most anons who think they want an autistic girlfriend or that autistic girls get a pass have likely never actually met an autistic girl or had to deal with one for more than a few minutes.

Autistic women are statistically more likely to be at least somewhat functional as long as they aren't outright developmentally disabled. Scientists aren't quite sure why it happens; one of the theories is that autism symptoms are less tolerated in females, so they try extra hard to work on their social skills.

Women tend to be more socially accepted and socialized than men, period, so Autistic women are likely better at masking or coping. On top of not being expected to take initiative in anything, an autistic woman can pretty inobtrusively glide through social acceptance. Most men will either be eerily distant or annoyingly obstructive.

Basically this, girls are more pressured growing up to be nice and polite and accommodating, to develop empathy and care for others, or at least fake it.

Men are more dangerous than women, so the idea of an autistic guy always carries an implication of said individual being unpredictable and maybe harming others.
Women can be socially inept, or at least more than guys, and still be accepted. The idea of an autistic girl is often fetishized, and those who are actually familiar with autistic girls and know how annoying they can be at least know they aren't as prone to violence as men.

Female autism goes beyond horniness and fetishes when it comes to being obsessed with a character. They will write a 50 page thesis on a character's lore and shit, getting all scientific about them. They also create more than just fapbait for the character, like some intense storylines.

Male autism is being obsessed with a character and drawing their head on traced porn a thousand times.

It really comes down to the fact that men are villainised and women are infantilised. People automatically assume that the man they just met might be a serial killer and look for clues to confirm this assumption. At the same time, people automatically assume that women are harmless and any weird behaviour is written off as quirky or annoying.

You can use your cane smack people away from your potential partner. So your disability has provided you a weapon.

They take it away and make you use a wheel chair if ever get committed.

Also can I ask why do you have a cane?

          Arthritis.

You could disassemble the chair if you are committed and form it into a cane. Grow out one of your toenails, preferably the big one. Before they have a nurse come in to clip your nails, rip the nail off and store it somewhere. It can be used as a screwdriver sort of tool. Then begin the process of breaking down the chair and reinventing it into a simple makeshift cane.

Not an autistic male but this seems a bit unfair to say. Autistic women have it equally as rough, especially in the fields of love. Try getting with a semi normie guy, they think your "quirks" are adorable at first, but the longer they are with you, the more they become annoyed and try correcting your habits, then begin to cut you down. Their families also begin to criticize you and think you are strange, causing a rift in the tides and all of a sudden, everyone is against you, driving you away.

It's not really more accepted so much as it is more invisible and under diagnosed.
