3D is rarely stylised like 2D - it's mostly done poorly or tries to be like your piece where it's "realistic" texturing and lighting on a cartoonish model for no good reason.
You also have less artists to hire that understand how to deal with the fact that 2D lets you ignore most problems in 3D. For example that skirt in the 2D can be done in 3D... but you have to manually reposition the skirt constantly and you might be shit at it so it sticks out like a sore thumb... so the easiest option is to just give her a normal skirt that needs minimal effort to animated with her.
No I just went and grabbed a random 3D film I remembered existed that didn't make horrible humans and didn't look as bad as Shrek when you're reducing it to a single frame.
I couldn't grab a Disney princess movie because Frozen has at least one webm banging around the internet where they actually mocked up a scene in 2D beforehand and it looked gorgeous.
Ah shit, and I shouldn't have posted that because the 2D portion of that film was what I wanted to see instead of Aardman as soon as they showed it. Especially because it was several pirate adventures instead of... a modern award show with a Queen Victoria cameo and nothing to do with piracy.

The only reason the terrain isn't irredeemable is because you aren't paying attention to it outside of something like the beer keg scene.
Not if you know what you're doing, while I can't show you an actual timelapse of the whole thing, I "undo"d as far back as I could and then went forward that way you could watch what I mean.
you should definitely make a twitter or a baraag or something! there's a massive lack of good vanellope art out there

the areas outside of Duloc hold up imo. Both the swamp and the redwood forest around it look quite nice

2D can go a bit off model to make the characters more expresive, with 3D you are stuck with the same model
