No one has money to go to the cinema anymore. I’m sure MI:7(?) and Oppenheimer are great but I’m just not going to pay to see them because it’s too expensive these days.
Oh yeah, that great movie Avatar 2 that everyone raves about.
It's funny money with a Christmas Holidays buff.
None of that billionaire-socialist finger-gayging shit resonates among the population. Everyone knows it's coded into a weird barking dog narrative of Whites-R-Bad/White-Savior-Complex: White man, only you can save the world/ecosystem...by ending yourselves.
If only eco-heroes like Cameron would follow their own advice. The recent shit around the Titanic piqued more people's interest culturally that Avatar 2. Possibly because it involved billionaire eco-freaks getting pulverized by the very environment they can't seem to keep their soi-spraying dicks out of while telling everyone else to stay away.
I don't even know what point you're trying to make you homosexual
All I'm saying is you're wrong for saying it's simply because "people have no le money"
Mario is actually popular. Chris Pratt hasn't waged war on the core audience demographics.
And Princess Peach was only about as wokeshit as ANH Princess Leia?
Hey, you can enjoy it all you want. I like plenty of shitty movies.
Just don't pretend it has any kind of cultural impact, or kid yourself that Jimmy boy ain't some kind of nascent super villain who wants you dead.
i literally can't afford to go. Thinking about doing a gofundme for cinema tickets.
Avatar 2 cost me literally €30, just for two tickets. That's literally the price of a week of food.
make some money poorgay
I will be going to see it at least two more times
I only go see movies if the screen/bulb is really good and the quality of the film/file is good. I often pay upwards of 15 for a ticket.
If it isn't 4K or better and the cinema isn't being too cheap to make the projector bright enough, I don't go. Simple as.
i literally can't afford to go. Thinking about doing a gofundme for cinema tickets.

Cost of living crisis. Theatres are just too expensive for some people. Also the theatre is fricking shit now. I went to see MI7 and here was my experience >paki drug dealers constantly on their phones so you have a huge light catching your eye >nogs talking the entire fricking movie >get to the car park and there’s a nog car meet up so have to walk through to get to my car
No I know why segregation was a thing. I now plan to go watch movies at a theatre 40 minutes away in the countryside cuz at least there’s no diversity
There was a guy with a huge bucket of popcorn next to me. I was engulfed in the hot waft of popcorn. Filthy amerimutt habbits. It was a fat couple too.
>paki drug dealers constantly on their phones so you have a huge light catching your eye >nogs talking the entire fricking movie >get to the car park and there’s a nog car meet up so have to walk through to get to my car
sounds like a third world country issue
No one is paying 50+tax for 2 tickets and popcorn for yet ANOTHER "white male fights terrorist" movie. There's literally dozens of those already on Netflix to watch at home.
It's on track to become highest grossing in the whole series so no idea what that flopping meme comes from. Previous one made 800something m and this one is close.
Probably big budget may be issue there, 290M but perhaps that's budget of part2 back in back included.
It's not really flopping but just not meeting expectations, but it had bad timing. Not only does Barbenheimer steal regular screens, the IMAXes are also now occupied for 3 weeks. Universal has been extremely moronic with their dates this year, they fricked up D&D too. In August it would have a much easier time.
MI7 isn't sticky. It has no theme, and without a killer new villain, there's nothing for normalgays or even fans to grasp onto. The AI as villain is arguably worse but it has no shape or form, like HAL, which is like having invisible demons as your villain. Cruise fricked up by not hiring an ace screenwriter, to match the power ups with directors.
It would nice after 6 movies, to have a real story rather than a global spy screensaver. He may have killed the franchise. Doubtful the sequel to this one can be totally overhauled
Not that anon, but he did a shit job then. Has he never heard the saying "Show, don't tell"? The first half hour was characters taking turns saying lines to explain the plot.
agree this script was poor
the movie is good but not great, esai morales and kittridge carry it hard
could trim off at least another 30 minutes,
I wasn't bored at any point but there was a lot of superfluous shit that didn't serve any purpose like that stupid desert scene or the russian submarine opening with the obvious twist
The opening is really dull unlike previous MI movies. Rogue nation has the explosive entry ever. Submarine scene was the absolute worst to start off a film.
>Has he never heard the saying "Show, don't tell"?
Have you ever seen the consequences of adhering to that saying when releasing a movie for general audiences? Nolan style crystal clear infodumps have a chunk of the audience scratching their head and scenes in which exposition is abstracted at all like the Architect scene from the Matrix fly over the heads of over 90% of the audience. When you show and don't tell 99% of people can't follow. It doesn't fricking work in general but especially not for a blockbuster action series like MI.
"Show, don't tell" is dumb film 101 video essay cope, you can't make movies intelligible for general audiences by strictly adhering to that concept.

>Mcquarrie is literally a oscar winning screenwriter
He punched up Top Gun 2, but clearly he had no time here. Keep in mind he had to write 2 scripts that he's shooting all over the world. This movie was originally 4 fricking hours long.
Top Gun 2 had a perfect script. Mcquarrie's Edge of Tomorrow had a perfect script. Why Cruise decides to phone in the scripts for his legacy franchise is one of life's great mysteries. Evidently they didn't even have a finished script for this shit. Cruise should have just made a travel documentary with stunts which is all it is and the marketing left nothing to imagination. "But this one has A.I."
Does MI7 have any gunfire like Fallout? Don't recall any in the trailers. This movie was chaste and looked more like homosexual shit like Knight & Day. Went from Wario Superman firing a Gatling gun from a helicopter, to Tom with his sleeves rolled up catching a woman and driving yellow Euro turds
That's just the opening. The last MI was 3/4 international. The Fast movies are even more, like 4/5 international, so the better comparison would be Fast X.
Because it's 'part one' and not separate standalone fill like every previous one. Mission Impossible franchise worked because each one was like an episode from IMF chronicles. This one is half of a movie with cliffhanger and 2 year wait gap.
It was a massive step down compared to Fallout >Balfe phoning in the soundtrack this time >script was barely serviceable >shitty shoehorned "le mysterious villain from the past" instead of actually leaning into an omnipresent AI and what it could do >awful dialogue
These. Felt incredibly underwhelming, the "big" stunt of jumping off a cliff felt super tame compared to Fallout. Doesnt help that the plot was kinda boring/messy and ended in a cliffhanger so it genuinely felt like watching just half a bloated movie.
best answer.
when part 2 comes out, part 1 will likely be rereleased to promote it (especially if it happens to be screening alongside the latest Disney failure). so some of us will wait for that, then see part 2 when it comes out
How will they play part 1 when part 2 comes out? By then everyone will be torrented it and watched it 100 times. Or maybe they will watch on Tv Or Netflix. That's a ridiculously bad idea. Even 4k prints will be on everyone's computer.
I don't think flopping is the correct term. Underperforming based on expectations, certainly. Perhaps the real question is how much staying power at the box office it has. Is there going to be a huge dip in ticket sales (as often happens) or will there be a steady stream over a extended period?
I feel like I’ve been hearing about this movie for 3 years now.
You can’t kee enthusiasm up for that long.
The optimal fuse is around a year and a half.
Teaser trailer - 1.5 years out
Leaked on set gossip about cruise stunts, and new trailer - 1 year out
Final trailer - 2 months out
This was a pretty funny review

I think MIs copy Bond films and you can't make a henchman speak a ton because that would make his or her smart but weak boss feel like nothing because the henchman is both strong and smart.
It was a massive step down compared to Fallout >Balfe phoning in the soundtrack this time >script was barely serviceable >shitty shoehorned "le mysterious villain from the past" instead of actually leaning into an omnipresent AI and what it could do >awful dialogue
"why is it flopping?" - the simplest answer is the correct one: every film is exactly the same.
- cruise gets a hard mission
- meets characters, assembles a team to complete the mission
- big stunt which is already spoiled in the promo for the film
- mission almost goes wrong
- succeeds at mission
THE SAME FORMULA 8 TIMES, THATS WHY
Why would I go to the theatre? It's full of loud Black folk who eat smelly food and talk constantly. Not worth it. I'll wait until I can pirate it in 4k and watch it in 1080p. Oh and before you say well they'll stop making movies entirely if you never go. Good! Stop. Idgaf. Old movies are better and I have an endless supply.
It's a good action movie. The bad guy was a little weak and not very imposing. Fallout was amazing in all respects, but this is still worth watching for the action scenes.
He wasn't bad, but he wasn't anywhere as good as that Sean guy from the last 2 movies. Something about this Spanish guy was just a little off, plus having him fight his own 1v1 battles vs girlbosses was weird too, he should be above that if he is a mega boss. I still loved the movie, had a great time.
I didn't like sean harris he was a mumbling smug little b***h
esai morales is great and thought his character was cool too, he enjoyed causing misery and he wasn't above fighting them he loved it and it brought him satisfaction
he was a good deranged prophet of unholy god
Tom should have known to pick a better director. But i suppose Tom wanted to run this ship. After MI 1 and MI2 I don't really see any personality in these movies. Well Brad Bird was solid at what he was trying to do. Afterall as other anons put it, it's just Tom cruise stunt documentaries etc etc. It's really goyslop with attractive presentation.

Brad bird was perfect. I don't even know why they broke up. Chris Macquarie is just a ghost director. Cause I'm 99 percent sure that Tom is the one that directs his movies.
benji is intolerable, and cruise is usually only tempered by another male co-star. We all know he is willing to go right up to the woke flood gates if it leaves more time for him to do meaningful stunts, so it's home movie.
and three grilbosses is just too many.
Because it tried to be like the Craig bond with the multi part spanning story tying up to one big event and also muh love store because vesper.
It fails because it's boring that way. Fallout was almost unwatchable and this one im not even going to pirate. Mission impossible was best when it competed against fast and furious.
>In June 2023, McQuarrie told Fandango that Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two would not end the series, and they were developing ideas for future installments.[40] In July 2023, during promotion for Part One, Cruise expressed interest in continuing to make further films in the series as Ethan Hunt, despite both films having been billed as a send-off to the character.
Look i like Tom Cruise running from explosions and jumping from high places and Simon Pegg being a tard and attractive old women like you. But there's little value in these films and they're all by the numbers shit since a while.
I'm not a middle aged dad yet. They could have tried making it a bit gritty this time. Shock us. Ok, I haven't seen it but people are saying that it's the same old thing.
Who's is "us" you boomer? Every one of my buddies loved the new movie. People are going crazy in the stunt sequence. Just say you like getting pegged grandpa.
No one wants to see a manlet fudge packer who thinks alien ghosts in his bones make him sad be the only one who can save the world. Yet the frick outta here
That manlet gets so much pussy in 1 week that you will ever get in your entire life. You are not even a millionaire but Tom is worth 800 million plus with 100 million dollars as salary for a movie.
Sound of freedom taking up a large amount of the target audience. It’s also an enjoyable premise but it’s the 6th sequel with an aging protagonist as an action star and people just aren’t as interested. Barbie and Oppenheimer are going to be the nail in the coffin.
Oppenheimer is outselling MI7 between +20%-30% on the international markets, says Deadline >France,Oppenheimerdebuted to $1.4M o Wednesday from 725 screens including 18 IMAX and two 70mm screens, as well as 11 Dolby Vision and six ultra-laser Kinepolis screens. The launch day is thebiggest opening Wednesday for a Nolan film sinceThe Dark Knight Rises. Excluding previews, the Wednesday admissions are aboveMI:7(+23%),Dunkirk(+14%),Tenet(+28%) andInterstellar(+76%)
i went. and it was so awful that it killed my love for movies to the point where now i'm not going to pay for neither oppenheimer nor kotfm, dune, napoleon, ferrari. frick israelites and frick movies. and frick tom cruise, he's insanely one-note. muh stunts. frick off aleready
too bloated. bad acting to the point i liked simon pegg the most. the whole premise just felt off. no foundation. the entire movie just exists to move tom from one set piece to another. haley atwell sucks. spyshit tropes. pickpocketing. i fricking wanted to leave the theater but then i remembered just how expensive the coke and popcorns were. also the pic quality was not the best, the contrast was way off. frick movies
>person is woke >thinks everyone that doesn't have a scarlet W on their vest is a "chud" >thinks labeling a group of people and showing bias against them is a demonstration of "tolerance" and "inclusion"
i wonder if any woke leftist has actually figured out how hypocritical they come across as. it seems like since the far left operates in a collective hive mind bubble that they draw the conclusion that everyone else is in a hive mind too.
Barbie and Oppenheimer are dominating time slots at both of my local theaters. I don't know enough about this shit to say if that means anything though.
Regardless, me and a few friends are seeing it tomorrow.
No one has money to go to the cinema anymore. I’m sure MI:7(?) and Oppenheimer are great but I’m just not going to pay to see them because it’s too expensive these days.

Oppenheimer will make a gorillion
Why? How much does a movie coast where you live, if I may ask. For me, a movie costs 9 dollars during a matinee.
3 dollars. With snacks might be 6 dollars.
$4 but i get in free if I wear tight shorts
paid 6 euros for Barbie, 8 euros for Oppenheimer because I wanted the nicer seats and IMAX
I only go see movies if the screen/bulb is really good and the quality of the film/file is good. I often pay upwards of 15 for a ticket.
If it isn't 4K or better and the cinema isn't being too cheap to make the projector bright enough, I don't go. Simple as.
€8.80 but I prefer to pirate my shit
The new MI cost 18,5€. That's robbery.

zoomer and millennial women are not watching it.

The marketing sucked.

They did with fallout as well with the skydive scene
why the frick would they do that? It doesn't help that you can clearly see it's bad CGI.
This is the biggest hindrance to those films. He does the stunts, but he might as well not do the stunts.
He must understand this.
In Rogue Nation water scene too. He did it for real underwater for 6 minutes and it has tons of edits which fricked up the original shots.
It's out?!?
the cgi deaging of cruise looks so fricking creepy. especially compared to the corpse promoting the movie.

I was thinking of a virus when I saw it, with the whirly tentacles.
I suppose that would fit with the underwater theme.

What did they mean by this.
ironically, the movie has more religious subtext. I would see a MI movie about aliens.

Its no spiderverse
It should be renamed the Tom Cruise Stunt Show as thats all it really is. Id rather watch anything than MI100,000,000,000 part 2
wtf chudbros I though the box office was flopping because of woke movies? Why are based movies flopping too?
It's not flopping homosexual. Movie will cross 1 billion and paramount will sell the digital rights for 250 million dollars at least.
Inflation u troony.
Its woke. Old hags.
Karma for screaming at the wagies
What karma troony? Movie won. Literally better tha Fallout.
I watched it with my Father in reserved Dolby Atmos seating
What country? And is that theatre is in 4k?
I really want the Asian girl to peg me
I want her to be the mother of my children
homosexual
homosexual.
Because it tried to be like the Craig bond with the multi part spanning story tying up to one big event and also muh love store because vesper.
It fails because it's boring that way. Fallout was almost unwatchable and this one im not even going to pirate. Mission impossible was best when it competed against fast and furious.
>Fallout was almost unwatchable
>In June 2023, McQuarrie told Fandango that Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two would not end the series, and they were developing ideas for future installments.[40] In July 2023, during promotion for Part One, Cruise expressed interest in continuing to make further films in the series as Ethan Hunt, despite both films having been billed as a send-off to the character.
Please stop Tom.
Why? The movies are getting better and better.
>Shock us
Who's is "us" you boomer? Every one of my buddies loved the new movie. People are going crazy in the stunt sequence. Just say you like getting pegged grandpa.
its not you tard
Everyone wants to see Tom Cruise on the big screen
All he has to do is smile
I love his smile. Makes my day awesome.
No one wants to see a manlet fudge packer who thinks alien ghosts in his bones make him sad be the only one who can save the world. Yet the frick outta here
>Manlet
That manlet gets so much pussy in 1 week that you will ever get in your entire life. You are not even a millionaire but Tom is worth 800 million plus with 100 million dollars as salary for a movie.
Sound of freedom taking up a large amount of the target audience. It’s also an enjoyable premise but it’s the 6th sequel with an aging protagonist as an action star and people just aren’t as interested. Barbie and Oppenheimer are going to be the nail in the coffin.
>flop flop flop flop!
>isnt a flop
Oppenheimer is outselling MI7 between +20%-30% on the international markets, says Deadline
>France,Oppenheimerdebuted to $1.4M o Wednesday from 725 screens including 18 IMAX and two 70mm screens, as well as 11 Dolby Vision and six ultra-laser Kinepolis screens. The launch day is thebiggest opening Wednesday for a Nolan film sinceThe Dark Knight Rises. Excluding previews, the Wednesday admissions are aboveMI:7(+23%),Dunkirk(+14%),Tenet(+28%) andInterstellar(+76%)
>France,Oppenheimerde
c'est fini
Barbie and Oppenheimer are getting all the attention from the media. Honestly they've wanted to bury Cruise for some time.
It's obvious. They want Cruise gone from hollywood.
i went. and it was so awful that it killed my love for movies to the point where now i'm not going to pay for neither oppenheimer nor kotfm, dune, napoleon, ferrari. frick israelites and frick movies. and frick tom cruise, he's insanely one-note. muh stunts. frick off aleready
What did you not like about that movie? Be specific.
there was no black leader actor
there also no one single transgender
its a nazi movie
too bloated. bad acting to the point i liked simon pegg the most. the whole premise just felt off. no foundation. the entire movie just exists to move tom from one set piece to another. haley atwell sucks. spyshit tropes. pickpocketing. i fricking wanted to leave the theater but then i remembered just how expensive the coke and popcorns were. also the pic quality was not the best, the contrast was way off. frick movies
You don't like Tom Cruise?
You know you can take those with you right? Just admit you loved it.
it's 3 hours long
Are you complaining? 3 hours of Tom Cruise kicking asses.
>first part of two
that's why. that shit worked 10 years ago but not anymore
What movie does that worked out?
Only one for me was Harry Potter, the one that started it.
Boring as frick
Too many Yom Cruise big budget movies
>core audience is chuds
>they dont go the cinema and just "watch" it online for "free"
You have a 4k 100 inch tv with Dolby Atmos? No right? So theatres are the best.
Jesus Christ. Imagine outing yourself as so poor that you can't even afford a 4k 100 inch tv with Dolby Atmos.
100 inch TV is 15000 dollars I'm sure chuds don't have.
only raging trannies post that kind of image
>person is woke
>thinks everyone that doesn't have a scarlet W on their vest is a "chud"
>thinks labeling a group of people and showing bias against them is a demonstration of "tolerance" and "inclusion"
i wonder if any woke leftist has actually figured out how hypocritical they come across as. it seems like since the far left operates in a collective hive mind bubble that they draw the conclusion that everyone else is in a hive mind too.
Barbie and Oppenheimer are dominating time slots at both of my local theaters. I don't know enough about this shit to say if that means anything though.
Regardless, me and a few friends are seeing it tomorrow.
Barbie and Oppenheimer are shit homosexual movies and the only reason Hollywood is pushing it is to destroy the MI box office.
>part one
Not an argument
>Why is it flopping
Its not you Moron

I haven't been to a theater since 2018, and I'm not breaking that streak for this.
Break it by watching MI7. You will love it trust me.
I'm sure I will, once a non-cam release is made available.
Atleast buy it in Netflix. DONT PIRATE homosexual.
>part 1
when i read this i immediately lost interest
i will wait for part 2 to come out then watch them both back to back
i don't wait for endings ffs
oh look at the special boy he doesn't wait for endings that hurts his feefee
