I disagree that it's a "so bad it's good" kind of film at all. There's some questionable line delivery from Keanu I'm places but it's well shot, gritty, terrifically cast and has great action scenes and pacing.
Yeah it's a genuinely good movie, a little corny at times but it's only through being sincere. I don't get why is has a reputation as a "hilariously bad" movie, it's only just stuff like Patrick Swayze's hair that maybe deserves that, or the over-the-top wienery FBI agent scenes

Keanu, being the beta, keep telling himself he is going to do this and that the next time he meets Swayze.
But every time, once Swayze starts talking, Keanu instantly folds and goes along with whatever Swayze said.
Swayze wasn't even trying to mainipulate him, he was just talking the way he always does.
Swayze is excellent in everything he is in and this is probably his best part.
