Shit source material
can a prince knight someone?
GoT is trash, basically LOTR but transformed a dumb series of books Troll R R Martin was more into nihilism, murder, sleaze and torture porn
It's made for women.
This. The show is overtly pro-Black despite them being usurpers trying to get a woman on the throne.
>Hurr durr my side
The show white washed all the female characters and made all the men look bad. Alicent is a straight up villain in the book but they made her a victim in the show.
>Alicent is a straight up villain in the book
lmao
>The show is overtly pro-Black despite them being usurpers
So is the book.
written by ~~*maesters*~~, no surprise
making tv shows for women seems the logical thing to do as they are the biggest consumer, but it is never good enough to captivate male audiences. for when a show is good enough to secure the male nerd audience, create diehard basedboys - then it is good enough to maintain women's attention also
it's made *by women
ftfy
not enough 5minute long painful birthing scenes for my taste
got was good because of shock factor and sex factor
where's the gore and sex in hotd?

https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Balerion#Princess_Aerea
>In late 54 AC, Princess Aerea Targaryen claimed Balerion from the yard of Dragonstone one morning.
>They disappeared and went missing for more than a year.
>King Jaehaerys I Targaryen sent expeditions to try and locate Balerion and the young princess
>Most reports proved useless, and none gave the desired result.
>Balerion was the largest living dragon in the world, but there were no sightings of the dragon anywhere.
>King Jaehaerys began to fear she was dead, telling his small council that it was likely Balerion had thrown her off his back.
>Septon Barth believed that the lack of sightings suggested that Balerion was no longer in Westeros and instead suggested they had gone east.
>Balerion returned to King's Landing in 56 AC, descending into the courtyard of the Red Keep with Aerea barely clinging to him.
>She was stick thin, and whatever clothes she still wore were nothing more than tatters. Her hair was matted and a tangled mess, and her eyes were bloody. After speaking "I never", she collapsed.
>She was carried to Grand Maester Benifer by Ser Lucamore Strong of the Kingsguard.
>Benifer treated Aerea in his chambers with Septon Barth, who had been summoned to administer the rites for the dying.
>Only the two men witnessed her last hours; the maester forbade all others, including the king and queen, from entering.
>She had arrived at the Red Keep in the morning. By sunset, Septon Barth announced that Aerea had died. She was cremated the next day at sunrise.
>It was announced that Aerea had died of a fever, which was only partially true.

>Ser Lucamore said that the princess's fever was so hot that he could feel it through his armor. She had blood in her eyes and her body had "something inside her, something moving"
>The king forbade him from speaking of the princess.
>Benifer left no account of Aerea's death, but according to an account in Barth's private papers, Aerea's fever was one unlike anything he had seen before.
>The septon described her as burning, with a red skin and having barely an ounce of flesh upon her bones, appearing gaunt and starved.
>Barth reported that "swellings" moved underneath the princess's skin, possibly searching for a way to escape and causing a great pain.
>He wrote "I pray that I shall soon forget some of the things she whispered", and that she often begged for death.
>It seemed to Barth as if Aerea was cooking from within.
>Her flesh grew darker until it resembled pork cracklings; smoke came from her mouth, nose, and her nether regions.
>Aerea's eyes cooked within her skull until they burst.
>When the princess was lowered into the tub of ice, "slimy, unspeakable things" making horrible sounds emerged from under her skin—one as long as his arm
>But the "creatures of heat and fire" died from the cold of the ice.
>The origins of the creatures that lived inside Aerea are unknown.
>Barth speculated that, when Aerea claimed Balerion, she was unable to bend the dragon to her will, and instead the dragon had taken her to the place he had been born, Valyria, where accursed creatures as those found inside Aerea now lived.
>Barth's accounts also describe wounds and half-healed scars on Balerion.
>The dragon bore a huge jagged rent down his left side, almost nine feet long, and fresh blood still dripped from the wound, hot and smoking.
>Balerion was the largest of all the Targaryen dragons since Aegon's Conquest.
The first 4 seasons of GOT followed the books. 90% of the dialogue was pulled straight from GRRM's brain. HOTD is feminist fanfiction written by a soiboi with brainrot and an Asian/israeli lesbian.
Soz bud ya got filtered, it's actually kino
Silence, shill. This show is an inconsistent mess.
Brainlet, not enough fast cuts for ya?
You are a low IQ shill
Where is the trailer?
They made it about a single event in Westeros history, involving House Targaryen, instead of the entirety of their rule. House of the Dragon would be a perfect name for a show that starts with Aegon's Conquest and ends 10, 15, 20 seasons later with Roberts Rebellion.
nobody would finance that, people would lose interest, and it would turn into slop very quickly
could retroactively make it an anthology title couldnt they?
5 seasons hotd
then do other shit
doubt the interest/budget will last that long unless changes in technology open new possibilities
>House of the Dragon would be a perfect name for a show that starts with Aegon's Conquest and ends 10, 15, 20 seasons later with Roberts Rebellion.
Yeah, can't wait to see all those shitty barebones storylines with zillions of timeskips.
it mogged the later half of GoT
That's like beating up a quadriplegic.
that's like running in the special Olympics
The source material is much worse, the creators are more woke.
90% of the show is time skips. Watching it feels like skipping all the pages in a book and stopping once in a while on a random page. It's a really unpleasant experience.
GRRM will get exposed as a pedo after his death. Mark my words.
>mostly alright
>random scene so bad it came right out of season 8
>immediately back to being alright again
I feel like there were a couple nepo hires in the writing room that some producer demanded their scenes make it in.
The source material is basically a parody of biased history books that GRRM clearly half-assed at many points because his publishers were pressuring him to at least put out SOMETHING for the love God. So most of its value lies in puzzling out how the biases of the "authors" are exaggerating, misleading and clouding the real events. Of course you can't make a show out of that and have to turn pretty much all these ambiguities into definite facts. Take away that mystery and you have to come up with a lot yourself to make the plot compelling.
Thoughts?
All of these numbers are abysmal. Shows in the 90s and 00s routinely had 30-40 million viewers per episode. TV is a dead medium kept alive by journalistic hype and shills.
It's about as good as GOT S2 to S4, answering your question as to why is it worse than S1, the reason is S1 is a masterpiece riding on the talent and expertise HBO acquired while making Rome, show that got cancelled to make GOT. It's like the third season of Rome so of course nothing made in 2023 will ever come close.
House of the Dragon was mostly great. Making the Velaryons black was a stupid decision, if the cast were all white and matched book description I feel like the show would have been more of a hit even with black people.
From memory, there was only one episode I didn't like and that was episode 9 (?), the episode that ended with Rhaenys escaping and doing a girlboss threat with her dragon. Having been conditioned to thinking that the penultimate episode will be "the big one", we were treated to a slog with shit dialogue, pacing and character development.
I am worried that the show will suffer a similar fate to GoT where all of the great actors and interesting characters die off early and leave a bland, unlikeable cast.
>Making the Velaryons black was a stupid decision
It was moronic but they did their best to make it make sense and still get dat ESG money. Velaryons being black makes clear to even the most moronic watcher that Rhaenyra's white kids are bastards. Also every black character gets either cucked or murdered during the season so there's that too
She looks like a premature fetus.
There's a cashier near where I live that looks like this chick and I kinda of want to ask her out but I'm too much of a pussy. Pretty sure she likes me too
>Shitty uninspired intro
>*fart*
israeli low-brow garbage based off of the same
1. It’s a world we are already familiar with
2. The stakes are very low
