Why is it that free streaming sites (picture related for example) have the best options for watching television and film while ones you must pay for all suck
Why is it that free streaming sites (picture related for example) have the best options for watching television and film while ones you must pay for all suck
the problem is you have to sit through a bunch of bullshit ads
>He doesnt know
Ads give you a chance to go to the bathroom, get a snack, or text someone
People always b***h about ads and they are annoying but reality is most people never 100% pay attention to the movie
this. give me an opportunity to be on my phone. otherwise I'd be on my phone during the movie
>commercials
Commercials anon, in my day we called them commercials.
What's a good VPN to use tubi?
Mulvad
Yeah Amazon and especially Hulu are quite horrible. My newest pet peeve is when subtitles don't work picture-in-picture
Because normies don’t care about old classics and hidden gems. They just want the super shilled flavor the month
Since they rely on ads, they need people to actually watch their shows. Streaming services just want you to sign up, whether you watch or not doesn't change the amount of money they make
Because we didn't know made for TV movies and direct to video shlock from the late 80s to 2005 would actually be better than anything to come after.
It hurts
Ad supported services are worthwhile if you want to just have something playing in the background or don't really want to pay careful attention to what's on television. Movies that you saw as a kid, episodic shows, things that you thought were just okay when you first saw them but want to give a second chance. Think of ads as your window to shitpost about whtever it is you're watching.
I fall asleep to old movies on Tubi all the time.
it's so comfy
It's sad that the services we pay for have a shittier catalogue than this free one. You'd think they'd use the money to license movies but apparently not.
hbomax is still the best streaming service and it has been for at least 3 years
Tubi just gets all the leftovers from major movie studios which won't earn a profit on any other streaming platform
Except Tubi occasionally censors stuff. They for example have Japanese pink films where they’ve cut tons of scenes out.
Yes, but they just buy the streaming rights to pre-censored versions that are sold, they don't actually do any of that themselves.
Same with kdramas
media and culture have been shit for approximately 20 years
I'll stick to stremio thanks.
This isn't a thread to shill Tubi or any particular streaming site it's to discuss why free streaming sites are better then pay for ones
What is stremio precious?
If you download it with the torrentio addon it's a kino station. There's an addon or two that shows you the catalogs of paid streaming services which is great. I got my grandma a firestick and put it on there so she can watch the golden girls and everything else for free.
Paid ones have suits who needlessly meddle with shit to make themselves look important and usually this means coming up with bullshit content standards that throw out a lot of good old television. Free sites have no such standards and buy up the licenses so the big boys get a little extra money while keeping their click paid services tidy.
ok chud
Fake or old picture Their only 3 black categories black cinema
Black Independent Cinema and black music appreciation month
I can't believe you guys who say you don't mind ads. They are fricking toxic. I just won't do it. Mostly I torrent stuff, but if I watch something on tubi, uBlock takes care of the ads for me.
Phone breaks
The lack of attention span (and addiction to phone checking) scares me. Whatever happened to sitting down and actually watching a movie?
I leave my phone in the other room sometimes
I heard a cool idea the other day. Dude says when he goes out to eat with friends, they all have to put their phones on the table, upside down. They each pay for their own meals, but if anyone checks their phone during dinner, they have to pay for everyone's meal. A clever way to get people to actually be together, instead of time-sharing with the fricking phones all the time.
Tubi's are pretty generic, at least so far for me. Youtube can die in a fire though.
I just use flixhd or flixhq.
more pertinent question: how can hollywood survive the horde of pirate streaming websites? their UI is so clean and comfy.
