Not comics about Italian Pete, but Italian comics about Pete.
The Disney comics about Mickey can be pretty cool, when they play more into him being a detective. Duck family has the world-wide adventure stuff on lockdown, and Scrooge's enemies are more on silly side, so Mickey's stuff can be more grounded. They also occasionally play Pete being career criminal who's trying to go clean.

I'm not sure. Disney doesn't really care that much about him, or most characters for that matter.
That being said, I'd like to see him as a crooked private detective, sort of like Blacksad, Duckman, and Harvey Bullock, all in one.

because pete was always flexing on goofy as not only being successful but also a great father. having dirt on his son about what he did was enough to prove once and for all he is better than goofy. one could imagine this is pete getting back at goofy for making max a bad influence on pj but doesn't mean pete has anything against max as he uses him to humiliate goofy.

Stimpy is moronic, Garfield doesn’t have much malice about him and Oggy is a friendly manchild, Pete doesn’t really fit that mold, he’s lazy but more of a go-getter and more prone to mischief and/or just being a dick.

      Anonymous

      i will ask again.

For some reason, I became a huge fan of Pete recently. Sure I think he's sexy, but I also like him in terms of his character. I feel like he's more complex than he's usually given credit for. He's more than a villain or even the town bully or scoundrel. He can be sweet on occasion, and he's not always a lummox like his appearance would suggest. I also like the fact that his design is subject to the whims of any artist who draws him, even moreso than Goofy and Mickey and especially Donald.
As an artist myself, he's one of my many muses, and he's one of my favorite fictional characters of all. Not my favorite villain or even Disney character, just one of my favorite characters in general. Cats just make great characters! So do dogs, hence Goofy.

Yeah I mean it's good of course, but he sounds more like a cartoon character than a person, which was why I always found the swedish voice in GT to sound so threatening since it's got more of a real-life setting (he has a more cartoony voice in most other dubbed depictions).

What do you expect of him? He’s a father, this isn’t like the Musketeers AU where he’s relatively high-up, in a normal setting the fat c**t is a normal guy. He was never particularly smart.

But he is a persistent schemer who is ambitious to a fault. There is NO way Pete from GT would be okay being a wagie photographer working WITH Goofy, a person he couldn't stand being neighbors with.

I imagine he’d get used to it. He has kids, kids that aren’t easy when one is a timid sack of shit and the other is insane, and he’s like 40 by GT, probably 45-50 by the movies. He was on the football team for school and sucked at that by the sounds of it, is a schemer but not so much the academic school so his grades were likely average and he begrudgingly had to take what he could get. Not sure if it was said if he had many friends but with his personality I’d say not, Goof was probably the best he could get.

              >I imagine he’d get used to it.
That's just not how I see Pete. His fatal flaw is never settling and admitting he would consider Goofy a friend. That would need its own 2 hour movie

That’s fair, then what would you say would be more appropriate for his character?

In regards to Goof Troop, I think Pete will go to his grave telling sweet nothings to his family and scamming the world for every cent

I can see it I suppose. I always thought he was nicer in GT, definitely not nice but also not a criminal, more straight-laced. I think he does have some genuine love for his family, I do think that deep down he wanted to help PJ become more like him and it’s likely that he was just continuing the cycle of what he likely had to go through as a kid too except while PJ feels bad about himself Pete fell into that way of thinking.

    >"The DuckTales film was meant to kick off a highly ambitious venture for The Walt Disney Company, Disney's MovieToons, a newly-created subdivision made up of the company's Television Animation units that would focus on more comedic character-driven films as opposed to musical spectacles that the Disney Animated Canon films (which were handled by the main Feature Animation unit) were known for. Among the planned movies were theatrical film adaptations of other shows from The Disney Afternoon, which included Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck, as well as ones for characters from both the Classic Disney Shorts and their comic books from the '30s and '40s, one of which being a long-gestating Mickey Mouse feature, along with several more DuckTales movies. Since all of these projects were banking on the success of DuckTales film, all of them were abandoned when it failed, with A Goofy Movie being the only survivor and the MovieToons division being retooled as Disney Video Premieres/DisneyToon Studios, which focused on direct to video sequels to the Feature Animation films"
DuckTales film and A Goofy Movie are quite interesting in hindsight.

Hard to believe this film actually exists. It's so different from the other theatrical 2D Disney films not made by Feature Animation (Ducktales film, Doug's 1st Movie, The Tigger Movie, Recess School's Out, Return to Neverland, The Jungle Book 2, Piglet's Big Movie, Teacher's Pet, Pooh's Heffalump Movie)

Peg is really hard to get right for most artists. How the frick does her design filter so many artists?

She's a typical Disney "dog person" with skin but you cant make her look too human otherwise it's uncanny, too anthro and she just looks off and furry
A lot of her appeal is also in subtle things like the hair flow and anatomy, details coom artists either do poorly or forget about

Goof Troop Pete is a decent man. He is not a shady criminal, he is not a villain, he’s just self-centered and kind of a moron. I believe in him.

      >He is not a shady criminal
You didn't watch the show then. He sold poor people useless crap, sabotaged his wife for his own vanity several times, cheated Goofy many many times, and put kids' lives at risk

      Thanks for looking out.
Truth be told, I'm not the best artist, but I want my output to be the best it can be, so it'll be a little while, but I'm going to do my best with all of these. I have your requests in a document and I'll be working on them. I'll likely have something by the next thread that pops up!
      Again, thanks!
