      >Because it’s the point
No it ins't the point, Spider-Man was a regular kid who turned into a regular adult with a job, wife and daughter until Marvel turned him into a sitcom character.

        >Spider-Man was a regular kid who turned into a regular adult with a job, wife and daughter
616 Peter never had a kid. You're looking at alternate universes and thinking they're canon.

Being a regular adult is mostly suffering these days. Why should Peter get to be married when the divorce rate is so high, etc.

And no matter how many times he gets back up he's slammed back down right afterward, lower and lower each time. It's just a pointless rut.

I wanna say when Horizon Labs was introduced? For that brief period, Peter had:
          -A stable paycheck
          -A good apartment
          -A girlfriend
          -Was respected by other capes

    Survivor's guilt.
After Uncle Ben's death, Peter actively, if subconsciously, chooses the hardest paths possible for himself because he thinks that if he's ever truly happy something bad will happen again. His suffering is largely self inflicted flagellation disguised as heroic martyrdom.

That's shat makes him so popular.
The fact that he's constantly in a tug of war between his personal problems and his responsibility as a hero makes him interesting and it's fun seeing them intersect.

      Most no-kill superheroes are, really.

      >The fact that he's constantly in a tug of war between his personal problems and his responsibility as a hero makes him interesting and it's fun seeing them intersect.
Honestly, I find this extremely irritating, after the first dozen times. The whole "PETER, WHY DIDN'T YOU COME TO MY UNDERWATER OBOE RECITAL!?!?" shit is so annoying, & it happens in every episode or comic issue. Hell, I prefer superheroes who don't have a secret identity, or tell a small circle of friends & family, because of this.

For Peter B. Parker in particular, for some reason I assumed he was the canonically pathetic Newspaper Spider-Man.

They made him apologize. for his ''objectivist'' phase although ditko never wrote him as an objectivist, and only made Spiderman act that way for the sake of the plot. People should start writing their fanfics/fanzines.
