Then joins the ravagers, whatever, so on so forth, it would just explain his character so much if he spent like ten years in penal service with his only personal effects being the shit he was running away from home with. His obsession with film and books and music and such from that time and place would be because it was what was keeping him sane in what was essentially hell. Literally I just put in like three minutes of thought, which is more than they are paid to do, don't go passing out brandy and handjobs just because I did the bare minimum of writing that literally any show or movie would have been expected to do in the 80's or 90's, that's not even a necessarily in-depth prompt, that's just basic, something to work off of. That's probably what pisses me off more than anything about the MCU, (which I mostly like!) is that if these motherfrickers put ten minutes of work in they'd be able to make some really incredible stuff, but instead they budgeted 100 dollars worth of work time to write scene 1,837 today so just do it as quick as possible and then fill the empty space with dialog and quips

Watch nothing but the scenes with Thanos and it's a good movie, everything else in it is straight up just character introductions and quip exchanges as per usual.
fpbp. Weird people complain about the state of the MCU as if only right now is bad, but things like Age of Ultron have been completely forgotten about. For me, that movie is wholly unacceptable and far more damning than anything put out in the last three years.
I will actually defend that scene. Ronan had won. He got the Power Stone, he touched ground, nothing could hurt or even move him. He was seconds away from destroying a planet. So the dance off throwing him off long enough to separate him from the stone worked because there was no alternative. Peter dug deep to find literally anything to distract Ronan for a few seconds.
Dance off was also a great moment for Ronan because the zealot was in his moment of triumph and vengeance, so caught up in the pageantry that such an odd counter/response caught him completely off-guard.
OP's scene is still good for the reasons explained before. It's Quill trying to hype himself up to take control of the team leader role, especially after being emasculated by Thor's presence, only for Drax to bring up his accomplishments in the most cringe manner. And then, someone finally gets what he was going for and his own insistence to follow it through with Spidey is what makes it more embarrassing for Quill. It's Tony's comment that fails the most, because the quippiest nicknamer being sarcastically demeaning to someone else for being unserious. The final line is the only problem with OP's scene.

TFA was awesome. Only real complaint I had was how little focus the Howling Commandos got. Besides that I think it’s one of the best MCU movies, easily top 5 minimum.
Didn’t even have to freeze Cap at the end. Could’ve had the Tesseract transport him and the Red Skull to the present, leaving those in the past to assume they’re dead.
i think the main issue is that those specific characters have a certain "quippiness" to them, and in the MCU they maintain a certain moderated level of "quippiness" in the scripts, so when you have those two and Iron Man in one scene it's fricking irritating because they don't really stop, but that film is the only point in the MCU I can think of where those kinds of cross-overs in terms of script writing really stuck out because of how obnoxious they were, and in truth that was... what, one, two, (maybe three if you stretch it) scenes? It wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, but it was bad.

I will actually defend that scene. Ronan had won. He got the Power Stone, he touched ground, nothing could hurt or even move him. He was seconds away from destroying a planet. So the dance off throwing him off long enough to separate him from the stone worked because there was no alternative. Peter dug deep to find literally anything to distract Ronan for a few seconds.
But OP’s scene has no defense, it’s trash.
Dance off was also a great moment for Ronan because the zealot was in his moment of triumph and vengeance, so caught up in the pageantry that such an odd counter/response caught him completely off-guard.
OP's scene is still good for the reasons explained before. It's Quill trying to hype himself up to take control of the team leader role, especially after being emasculated by Thor's presence, only for Drax to bring up his accomplishments in the most cringe manner. And then, someone finally gets what he was going for and his own insistence to follow it through with Spidey is what makes it more embarrassing for Quill. It's Tony's comment that fails the most, because the quippiest nicknamer being sarcastically demeaning to someone else for being unserious. The final line is the only problem with OP's scene.

First Avenger’s humor worked because it never overtook the movie. It also didn’t rely on a bunch of pop culture shit every 5 seconds. The humor was organic to the characters and the interactions.
Also TFA blows out of the water like 95% of the MCU.
First Avenger was kind of lame. Wish they went old school Wolfenstein with it and made Hydra into the Occult faction of the Nazis.
TFA was awesome. Only real complaint I had was how little focus the Howling Commandos got. Besides that I think it’s one of the best MCU movies, easily top 5 minimum.

i think the main issue is that those specific characters have a certain "quippiness" to them, and in the MCU they maintain a certain moderated level of "quippiness" in the scripts, so when you have those two and Iron Man in one scene it's fricking irritating because they don't really stop, but that film is the only point in the MCU I can think of where those kinds of cross-overs in terms of script writing really stuck out because of how obnoxious they were, and in truth that was... what, one, two, (maybe three if you stretch it) scenes? It wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, but it was bad.
