He makes a lot of antisemitic and racist comments. I recently rewatched it and it felt like the first breathe of fresh air I’ve had in 10 years.
In my headcannon, House is such a genius he got a dentist license in his early 20s and was Seinfeld's antisemitic israeli convert dentist. Cuddy is the israeli woman Seinfeld's dentist converted to judaism to impress. Then he was expelled from judaism for all the antisemitic jokes. Things with Cuddy got complicated. He also had to change his appearance, name and professional field. The dentistry scene hated his guts. So he became Dr. House.

So often they act as the, "Emotional, moral compass" of their respective episodes but more often than not that just ends up with them being strangely hypocritical and obsessed with their preconceived notions, like the Psychopath episode or the Dictator.

Hugh Laurie's comedy talent really made House a believable character. In a way, it mirrors Jason Alexander's vast theater experience that makes George Costanza go where most comedy actors don't dare to go, which made him more human.l, more real despite his surreal writing.
Chase become nu-House is what holds up on rewatch. Every other arc or angle fricking sucks. House never had good antagonists, so they all just waste your time. Cuddy and House went nowhere because the actress left. Foreman becomes the new Cuddy, wow, who cares? The second team was alright, but not as great, only the plastic surgeon holds up.
After House, Chase is basically the main character.
