The Bible was written by dozens of writers over the course of centuries and the New Testament was written decades after the crucifixion by individuals who would've heard about the story from second-hand sources. With all that in mind it's surprising the Bible isn't more internally inconsistent.

Christians have a very strange view on God. They think that He is incapable of evil because they strongly believe that God and the Devil are two different entities, which isn’t true at all. In order for Him to conceal his existence there has to be chaos to create doubt of His existence. You are not supposed to worship Him but you’re supposed to be threatened by the possibility of His existence; and this makes sure that you behave. It’s just like with Santa Clause and the kids but God is actually real, and if you’re naughty you’re fricked.
I think that humans have many different runs at life in which your morals are being tested. You can be reborn with the same exact consciousness in many different situations and many different countries; and only the ones that are truly worthy can go to “paradise”; otherwise you stay on Earth perpetually being punished. Let’s say that in this run you get rich or famous and you choose to be immoral, it’s almost guaranteed that in the next life you will be reborn on Earth as something bad, like one of your victims. Let’s say that you own a mine in this life, in the next life you’ll be the miner, and it goes on and on until you do the right thing, which knowing you isn’t likely to happen and you’ll be stuck in perpetuity in Hell… I mean Earth. Behave.
