Why is this movie so bad?

Nothing happens the entirety of the movie and Tom cruise cries at the end for whatever reason. Besides sex, what was the point of this movie?

      Literally Kubrick's best film

The scene where they get stoned is really embarrassing. Kubrick must have been senile, good thing he died before sullying his legacy further.

It was about how people ignore corruption and shadiness in their own lives because they desperately want to be part of something greater, even if its meaningless.
See the scene where the shopowner says he worked out a deal, that's really the crux of the film.
Cinemaphile schizos will tell you it's some anti-israelite film and there's actually 6 hours of unreleased footage that kubrick was killed over, but it's bullshit from idiots that don't watch anything.

There were cuts however, and i wish we could see them.

Wasn't there actually like 30 mins cut that kubrick specifically said he didn't want cut that ended up getting cut?

    Why is OP so moronic?

Nothing happens in the whole thread and OP cries at the end because no one agrees with him. Besides bait, what was the point of this thread?

For those who don't care for Kubrick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t00k1jaOZH8
Horsley reads either the introduction or first chapter of his book, where he describes being "mesmerized" by how bad EWS was.

It means nothing. It's based on an Italian (or was it French?) novel about (surprise!) cuckshit. Guy freaks out his wife has sexual thoughts then later realizes he was blowing out of proportion.

Sidney Pollack was truly horrified when he found out what movie he was in - or rather, what was shown there. His greatest fear, of course, was for himself, and that some might think HE KNEW. So afraid of that fact, of course, that he contacted important people at Warner Bros. and told in detail everything he had found out, everything he had seen. No one knows exactly what happened next. What is known is that Nicole Kidman refused to talk to Tom Cruise, her husband, anymore, probably believing that Cruise was in that room with Pollack and the people from Warner Bros. and some other people who were deciding what to do next. Somehow Steven Spielberg appeared on the scene and was able to convince that the film should be finished and released, because an unreleased movie would generate more speculation and dangerous theories. He fully assured that he would do everything as it should be done, and that anything superfluous would be destroyed. And it was destroyed. In the editing room. In gratitude, Spielberg received his full blessing for all his activities. And to choose any Kubrick project he wanted to shoot.

No one knows exactly what was in it. Probably not even Spielberg, who destroyed the tapes. Were there children on the tapes? Were there names? Were there hints? Anyway, that was enough to scare everybody so much. Eyes Wide Shut is probably the most damaged film in the history of cinema. And certainly the only case where a big studio worshipped a director so much that it gave him the opportunity to shoot whatever he wanted. And he did. About them.

    Eyes still shutted.

How come no one ever mentions that Nicole Kidman is getting fingered on the table wearing a mask in the orgy in the r rated one and she was attending the orgy too? Its why kubricks shows you her body so you can identify her. Anyway. You are all tards.

            A few points:
1)If the women are just street thrash hookers why have them wear masks
2)This is where the mask on the bed at the end comes from
3)This is why Kubrick very carefully shows you kidman naked.

Doesn't look like her at all. I'd recognize since I think Kidman had a perfect body at the time, perfect paleness.

It's lifted from this, beat by beat. It might be a story about secret societies, but it's not about The Secret Society of the USA. It's a fun cautionary story, nothing more.
