and no, the development trouble is not enough of an explanation
>realistic backgrounds combined with Arlo looking like Yoshi
>dark moments like the dad’s death or Spot ripping the head off a bug combined with goofy shit like the Texan T-rexes
>it’s a blatant copy of Lion King but with no villain
>the title only made sense for an earlier draft but they forgot to change it

I would like to believe an art style such as mixing realistic backgrounds with cute cartoony style wouldn't automatically be a bad thing. Though clearly audiences are too stupid since they saw the main character and thought it was a toddler film.
It IS though
No
>The Good Dinosaur
>The Good Wife
>The Good Doctor
>The Good Son
>The Good Place
>The Good Shepherd
>The Good German
What’s up with that?
Because good is good
They probably got the name from these other movies, now that you mention it.
wasn't it basically an elaborate tech demo for the water physics stuff?
>the title only made sense for an earlier draft but they forgot to change it
What was the original draft about?
I think it was about other animals being racist against dinosaurs but Arlo proves he’s a “good dinosaur” by raising Spot
Lightyear is both
I feel that it should have been a short film, not a movie
It would've been great as a series of 2-3 minute shorts where Arlo adopts Spot, teaches him things around the farm, learns to protect him from bigger beasts, and concludes with Spot being released to live with some other humans for his own good.
TGD as a movie was a wreck.
Dinos survive, but the world is empty and we meet about a dozen. The farm has no neighbors, there is no large city of dinosaurs down the river. These may as well have been the last dinos on the planet.
One silo of vegetables to feed a family of 5 for the winter. A herd of cattle that the T-Rex would've devoured over a weekend, at best. Everyone starves. THE END.
With the dinosaurs being realistic in physique and lacking actual digits, certain things NEED to happen off-screen because there's no way the characters can actually do them. Buck making his prop mask, Henry building the trap for Spot, Arlo pulling himself up the cliff edge, etc.
I wonder if it's worse for a movie to be woke and pozzed to hell(Turning Red, Lightyear) than to be boring and utterly forgettable
>Buzzword buzzword buzzword
Clown
Lightyear was a mistake. Easily worst Pixar film ever. Even worse than fricking Cars 2.
Brave is worse than Cars 2 and no, I did not steal that opinion from Mr. Enter
crazy they let this downy direct another movie after this (elemental)
I found it an odd movie too. The realistic, and admittedly beautiful scenery combined with dinosaurs that looked obviously cgi sorta clashed.
But that tripping out scene with the fermented fruit had me in stitches. Surprised Pixar would put such a thing in a kids movie.
Was it the stegosaurus that stood still and just stared..? Legitimately creeped me out.
>Stegosaurus
homie
Nigersaurus?
Guess who the writer is.
Huh
The Bad Movie
Because the movie was literally 100% just made for the VFX of the backgrounds, like how Tangled was for the hair tech, and Frozen was for both hair and snow.
I kind of like the movie, but it was top loaded with unnecessary stuff, didn't make the world of dinos being like humans more interesting... but I enjoyed Arlo and Spot's journey
It feels like a tech demo.
