Here's an idea: Killing the JL is an easy way out. Like say they're mind-controlled and not fighting at the best of their abilities so they're easier targets to pick off than usual. They're slower, sloppier, fighting from the inside so they give you every chance to retaliate, which is how you should be able to even land a hit on Arkham Batman in the first place

Suicide Squad adaptations usually have some of the members start as selfish buttholes and then reluctant heroes, making killing JL optional would put the path they follow up to the player.

I watched this clip to see what all the hubbub was about and something clicked in my head. The Suicide Squad are exactly the kind of ultra violent antiheroes that Mark Waid and Alex Ross were critiquing back in Kingdom Come. The only difference is those edgy 90s heroes were edgy with complete sincerity, where as characters like those on the SS have to constantly take the piss out of everything.
Shame really as a Suicide Squad game could work if it let you play as the actual C-Listers while pitting you against more feasible or fitting foes for their intended roots as black ops for the government, preferably no Harley Quinn, live service shit, better usage of character power/abilities and a lot less bizarre contempt for rest of DC in it. The ingredients for a good game concept are there so have no idea why Rocksteady took this direction which was guaranteed to alienate people from the concept alone but even more so connecting it to the popular Arkham series
I swear that they should have just made a Secret Six game if they were going to make any kind of supervillain game. You'd have Bane, you'd have Deadshot, you already have a Batman clone in the form of Catman, you'd have your girl power characters, and it'd be dirt simple to have them basically clean up house on shit like the League of Assassins or whatever.

Because, as far as normies know, this game has ALWAYS been the point of the Suicide Squad. Everything about the Squad in recent years has been based on the 2016 movie, where their whole point was to "stop Superman" and serve as the semi-villainous Amanda Waller's goon hit-squad.
They also had the opportunity to use a bunch of villains that hadn’t made physical appearances in the Arkhamverse, but had been mentioned before. Like Killer Moth, Great White Shark, Ratcatcher, and Prometheus.
You could even thrown in a more comic accurate Copperhead as playable with Acid spit and perhaps a stealth focus or a melee oriented gameplay, maybe coulda even had him mention the Origins version to culminate in actually having the Copperheads meet up, with him slagging her for not dressing like a snake as genuinely as him.
Plus Killer Moth would be perfect as a lead, can have moth themed guns with status effects such as sticking enemies so they are slower or just poison over time and have him banter about being in the game so long but being looked down on cause he isn’t a schizo.
Killer Moth and Ratcatcher died in AK off screen.
I mean Ratcatcher has the out of most popular version literally being a legacy character to the previous one and Killer Moth can always have a sequence, serious or goofy, explaining how reports of his death were greatly exaggerated. Deadpool is irreverent and funny though. With the context of multiple universes and timelines, it's fine for him to do that. This game is played straight and the Batman death scene felt "real" with no entertainment value, it just satisfies curiosity and shocks.
The actual miniseries in which Deadpool killed literally everything - from other heroes to famous people from classic literature to Marvel writers in the real world - was pretty much forgotten immediately. That was also back when Marvel was doing a massive push for Deadpool. Casuals wouldn't have noticed and more dedicated readers probably just felt too exhausted to care. So it could be no one really gives a shit, again, since this would be a film that comes on the heels of one billion superslop blockbusters.

Why would Bruce even shack up with the rest of the League after Arkham Knight? The point of the ending was that Batman as a hero was growing too predictable after nearly a decade of his career in universe, and criminals just weren’t afraid of him as much as they used to be. This, combined with his public unmasking, led Bruce to fake his death, and go back to his roots of being a myth criminals truly feared. Joining the Justice League defeats the purpose of that. I’d expect Bruce and Alfred to be hiding out in some cave or sewer.

The gameplay for this one looks like shit, but I'd probably consider buying a silly Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe game where you have to work out strategies for killing the various heroes and villains, with each target having a map like a Hitman level. Have it be somewhat like a Megaman game where you get gadgets and power-ups from killing them, so you plan out your kill order to make future kills possible or easier, while having to stay below the radar so you don't get caught too early and lose all your gadgets when you're sent into a revolving-door prison.
