Why isn't Grey Hulk utilized more? Green Hulk is very shallow in comparison and can't really contribute much to stories but getting angry and smashing things while being morose and lonely. Joe Fixit is like a greedy street smart Mr. Hyde to Bruce's Jekyll personality, and can do a lot of banter with other characters.

Yes, it proved that just his personality was enough to play a good part in the story. He didn't even need to be in Hulk form to contribute to the plot

TL;DR Banner's DID went super sideways thanks to the influence of Gamma Satan. Joe Fixit in particular popped out when Bruce got hit with a bunch of UV Rays (Hulk was weak to solar energy at the time), so he basically ended up manifesting while in Banner's form and became stuck like that for the majority of Immortal Hulk because everything about the Hulk was thrown out of whack. He re-manifests later as a pseudo-Red Hulk, but that's an even more complicated story that's best left to being read than explained.

Peter David and other writers have done everything you can with the character, nowadays writers are rehashing ideas, hulk stopped being good in 2007. But I like Mcguiness hulk because of the art.
