I will never understand the dislike of Arcane on here. It's a fantastic show.

      Anonymous

I wanna watch it at some point but it's fairly easy to understand the hate; Twitter they/thems like it and it's targeted at them, kind of like Steven Universe, another good show with politics Cinemaphile is understandably weary of

        Anonymous

The only "political" thing in Arcane is amount of strong female characters

          Anonymous

Yea and some class struggle stuff, but that's it

            Anonymous

I actually didn't mind the struggle stuff here. Arcane did a good job of showcasing how both sides have both good and bad people. Most series just mark "rich people = evil" and call it a day. Here, we see how different conditions shaped both the societies and their inhabitants. Even Scumbags like Silco and some council members have motivations that one can see the logic to.

        Uhh, no.
It's more targeted at China, since, y'know, it's funded by China.

Aren't the strong female characters gay? Or was that something the fans made up?

Only one of them, who's the sister of the main-ish character.

Some of the character designs resemble that of the tumblr crowd but the designs precede the existist of these type of people because they're based on the colorful game characters. But unlike SU, it isnt a show made by a tumblr users for tumblr users, it's just a good show. Anon, dont let a vocal and shit community stop you from enjoying a show.

Except unlike SU, Arcane is actually good to people who aren't manchildren or womanchildren.

And class struggle is used as part of the plot and not some homosexual lecture

Arcane was one of the hottest shows on this board when it was airing anon. Now that the show's in the middle of a long hiatus people are just dunking on the shippers since they're some of the loudest voices right now. As soon as season 2 happens this board is gonna be all over it again.

Contrarians that hate popular things on principle and lesbian bait will do it. Also LoL kinda sucks on it's own despite Arcane being good.

I don't really have a frame of reference to judge it since I just played it once and never touched it again.

If anything Arcane is the ultimate piece of LoL media, unlike songs which get shat out during competitive seasons or those 3 comics which everyone already forgot about, this is a really well made piece of audiovisual media that forces everything depicted in it to be forever canon, so if you dislike Riot turning characters gay (outside China) and retconing the lore every other month you might be happy with this, then again it requires you to care about League lore which is hard nowadays since you got animeish shit being injected into it constantly as the only lore you'll get.

It was a really good show, but popular things inevitably become popular to complain about.

      >teenage neon dyke haircuts from Cinemaphile remind me of mother's home made avatar
If you abuse that scene any harder, someone might ask if you watched the film.

When people are loud, spammy and underage, no-one likes them.
Arcane fans were the same as minion suit wearers but then enabled the shippers to think their opinions mattered.
Why do you think banned show was banned?
Case in point, underage users like

Yeah, people tend to want to talk about it when something mindblowing comes out and blows everything else in its medium out of the fricking water. I understand that contrarian schizos like to ruin things and should be slaughtered like animals.

OTGW I'll grant you. The love and detail in that show really shines through. Cinemaphile really overstates Primal, though. Not dissing it, it's Genndy being Genndy and that's fun, honest, and fairly high quality. But GOAT? It's just a hyperviolent pulp caveman freak-of-the-week show. Not exactly something that has universal appeal. You could sit a film snob down and as long as they're not so far up their own ass they dismiss it sight unseen you could get them to appreciate all the things going on in Arcane. For anyone who Primal isn't their jam, you would never convince them otherwise.

      >You could sit a film snob down and as long as they're not so far up their own ass they dismiss it sight unseen you could get them to appreciate all the things going on in Arcane.
Film snobs would be watching films, not Netflix serials, and they'd likely not praise Arcane because it's not only popular but run of the mill and Cinemaphile invading their safe space, yet again.

Most cartoon shows fall under the lol so random "comedy" category because it's the cheaper and safer move. while narrative driven series like ATLA are extremely rare(because networks dont like shows that they cant air on repeat on random like TTG) and were so lightning in a bottle fluke that even the creators failed to recapture what they made the first time.

LoL actually has a lot of good settings, it's more that Piltover and Zaun are the most accessible to people who aren't used to League and probably the most interesting in a short description, it's basically a industrial society that is segregated between classes, which on itself is much better than "it's basically Rome" or "it's basically Egypt" or "it's a fricking really tall mountain", hence why I believe they will make a show on Bilgewater if given the chance, or Ionia since weebs eat that shit up.
