>Most of Cinemaphile's content isn't aimed at the demographic that use this board though
In the case of those other DTVA shows, it's some combo of anons wanting to fug the girls, self-insert as the girls, or ship the girls. Lunella's design and personality are too offputting for that
If I’m BEIN honest, I tried giving Moongirl a few tries and my main problem with it is the characters and the dialogue. Sometimes it’s just non-stop talking and exposition, like words just keep flowin out of characters’ mouths and it isn’t very engaging. Lunella is always giving long-winded explanations about her inventions and plans cuz that’s part of her character, or she’s talking on Devil’s behalf cuz he can’t frickin speak. Meanwhile the other girl will be rattling off her own things about fashion or influencer shit, Lunella’s family all feel like one character who just go down a line and say one bit of dialogue each whenever they’re in a scene, side characters also all speak really fast to match the pace of the show… This combined with the 22 minute runtime really starts makin me bored halfway thru most episodes. Idon’t want to write off this show entirely as a “style over substance” situation because it did have a few good moments, but by the end of basically every episode my brain is just like “Aight, that looked pretty but I din’t remember shit.”
>IF YOU DON'T WATCH OUR SHOW IT MIGHT BE CANCELLED!
Sounds like it's not a good show and deserves to be cancelled, especially if no one is watching and needs to be told to watch just to keep it from getting shitcanned.
>if corpos don't want it that must mean it's actually good and we have to support it
You are demonstrating corpo paypig brainrot and you think it's a virtue.
If we don't support more dtva shows Disney will simply stop greenlighting action tween shows altogether and focus on preeschool shit since that prints money for very little investment.
Disney will simply do whatever it wants regardless of what you support.
No one's watching, so they might cancel it. They aren't watching because the show isn't good and isn't interesting. Crying that more people should watch just to keep it from getting canceled doesn't solve the problem of the show being awful garbage.

Sorry you'll have to find another cartoon e-girl to jack off to, bud. It's a real tragedy that no one wants to watch this terrible cartoon just to bolster your lacking sense of self-worth.
If we don't support more dtva shows Disney will simply stop greenlighting action tween shows altogether and focus on preeschool shit since that prints money for very little investment.
>aahhhh noooo think of the mediocre shows getting cancelled back to back
lol
lmao even
Isn't this just how it works when you have 3-4 shows that started around the same time? They all end around the same time? Kind of like how Star Vs, Amphibia, Milo Murphey, Ducktales, etc all ended around the same area too?
This is more an issue of Disney greenlighting several shows at one time and ending them all at the same time. Then making another wave of shows all at once.
I liked it a lot, but the release is terrible. You dump a bunch of episodes at once and then there’s months of nothing. No point of weekly uploads since they release in Disney+ every episode that’s airing that month at the start of it.
Molly Mcgee also had a horrible release, but at least for most of the episodes you did have to wait for weekly releases. Not for Moon Girl.
Disney likes fricking over their newer shows so they can have an excuse to pumping out more live-action content. Even when they do throw a bone to the animation department, the season comes and goes so fast that people and potentional fans didn’t even know it aired till waaaayyy later.
It killed Moon Girl and Molly imho
They have been doing that since Phineas and Ferb in 2012ish. Air 4 episodes, then nothing for 3-4 months, then 5 more episodes, then hiatus again for another 3 months. P&F fourth season was stretched out over three years because of that.
I wouldn't be surprised if they go after Moon Girl, they'll go after Hailey, Kiff and possibly Primos since that shitstain is garbage before it even airs.
Dude the Marvel angle didn't work to get it good numbers and I think they were the first to go under 100k viewers.
Its getting more episodes than last season but this is it.
Moon Girl's OST alone mogs anything Mid-ley is on it! has
I don't watch cartoons for ebonics hiphop shit
Hailey at least the characters arent constantly spazzing out on screen and occasionally a joke is even funny
just goes to show you how ignorant this board is, know nothing about anything except cartoons (which they barely already know about) and whatever /misc/ rubs off on them
1. It’s on tv and I don’t think anybody really watches tv in general
It can also be due to irregular time slots, it’s a beautifully drawn show, but the dialogue could use heavy amounts of tweaking.
I only really heard one “woke” line from one episode were a robot said it was non binary but it’s a robot so I’m not sure why they bothered to put that in. again, cute show. But they put it on tv and not on D+ where the real money relies now
I liked it a lot, but the release is terrible. You dump a bunch of episodes at once and then there’s months of nothing. No point of weekly uploads since they release in Disney+ every episode that’s airing that month at the start of it.

Sure, but it's particularity bad with Moon Girl. They hyped the hell out of the show with a bunch of advertising and even physical merchandise in the works which is something almost no other show got. Then after all that they dump the show out on Disney + over the course of one month and don't bother with the show again for a whole year? Not until the next season is just about to come out? Just a weird plan all around.
That’s Disney for ya. With them having Marvel, they’ll probably throw everything original into the gutter. Their recent movies only have advertisements weeks before it releases, bland as hell, and honestly forgettable, same with their shows. I wouldn’t put it past them if their just making content to dump on Disney+ to keep subscribers somewhat happy
I mean sure, but also take into account that Moon Girl is a Marvel animated show. It should have been something that combined both fields and something they could have milked for a long while. But they just threw it out there. This show got a worse deal than any of their other animated shows. Every other show had it's releases spread out and more evenly balanced. Given time to build an audience and grow naturally. This one they just throw out and expect everyone to blow through and forget until the next year? Just sounds like lunacy of an impressive degree.
There is? I thought they were doing a two episode a week release schedule? Did they mention somewhere that Disney + was going to be getting dumps first?
Oh wow, that's a disappointment. Man I hope this isn't going to be like last season.

Was it? The way I remembered it they dumped five episodes on Disney plus and then pieces those same five episodes as weekly releases on Disney Channel.
if your show is good people will watch it and word of mouth will spread and people will watch it and form their own opinions. i don't know why this is such a hard concept for people to comprehend. nobody is watching this because the target audience is nonexistent and its just not very good either.
Current generation of film makers and tv producers have this culture of never ever saying a single negative thing abut anyone's work at all ever. So it's a massive circle of yes men congratulating each other throughout every level of production. So they lose their shit when audiences say their work is bland or bad.
They either assume it's all politically motivated, or targeted trolling. But they reach for any excuse before ever coming to the conclusion they made a dud.
Some of that does come from working in the industry and having more experience seeing how the bad decisions get made and how people can work hard and do their best and what they've been tasked with doing, despite knowing it's not going to turn out remotely good... But also mostly not wanting to burn any bridges or step on any toes, because you can end up spitting in the eye of the person who might get to decide if you get hired onto that next project when you need a job, and they'd rather be employed than fix any of the problems they know exist within the shitty industry they insist on propping up.
It's mostly due to animation jobs are temporary gigs, so everyone is non their best behavior and always thinking of their next job at all times. They want to be sure everyone loves them and will want to hire them in 3 months. No one wants to badmouth shit because anyone in the room might be the next gig supervisor. And after a decade of it, it turned into a common culture.
>if your show is good people will watch it and word of mouth will spread and people will watch it and form their own opinions

Pretty sure that show would not have gained a second season if it did not have twitter attracting ship bait in it. The show meandered throughout the first season and could not decide if it was a school drama, Sorcerer's apprentice, or wacky ghoul puns kiddy horror.
Nothing to say about Pantheon or Scavengers Reign. Almost like you realized those disprove your point and you don’t want to admit it.
Monkie Kid and Rise are great you gay

This is generally why through history most adults aged out of animation and went on to watch adult shows that included hot women in them
The show only exists because Lawrence Fishburne loved the Moon Boy and DD comics growing up and after discovering it had a reboot he convinced Disney to greenlight a show. He voices Beyonder and has been promoting the show, but sadly only boomers care about him so the show didn't gain much traction from his efforts.
I like Lawrence I tried giving this a watch, couldn't make it to S2. Since this *is* a superhero show based in NY why even call her? There's 23 Supes that just defend NY, not even including Sorcerer Supreme. Spooderman, Punisher, DD, Spoodermans buddies like Black Cat, Iron Fist and others.. Like at that point some meme charecter isn't needed.
I just don't understand this.
Instead of spending so much money to market a show why not have a girl that looks and sounds like Lunella cosplay as her on tiktok and X?
Literally any stupid trend just in costumne and have a marketing guy edit the videos and get the ok before posting?
They did that for S1, there was a Lunella performer on Disneyland when the show first premiered.
Disney always markets well their shows for the premiere and first episodes. It's after the first 5 air that they leave it to swim with the sharks.
That was a Disneyland for probably like a week and it just never feels right when its just an adult in a suit
Hire an actual teenager and you could probably get away with total costs being like 100k for her and 100k for the marketing/assets guy per year, they will have marketing throughout the life of the show
The marketing/asset guy can even work on other shows so that Disney gets their money's worth
I think the future is irl and age appropriate versions of their characters acting like the cartoons
They'd have to find someone naturally entertaining which could be tough. But I'm sure they could have found someone. A Casey maybe even since she'd fit the role well.
>show has been on hiatus for a year
>wtf why is nobody talking about this show?!
sniff
People are discussing if this or that don't or do deserve to get canned. Like homie I simply just want more of Casey's soles
Same reason people sleep on Kiff and the hamster one, but even harder cause it's woke
>Marvel
>No advertising
>On hiatus
You tell me
Both of those shows are slop tier
It's extremely bland/mid outside of the music video fight sequences.
Because people here can't move past /misc/ brainrot
Black lives don't matter to black people.
Nobody cares because the "Marvel" brand isn't associated with quality
Moongirl is fine tho
There is a general level of mistrust now for things with the MCU label on it after the last few movies.
most people here are white adult men and this is targeted at black little girls.
2nd season is next month
Show is cute and fun.
Most of Cinemaphile's content isn't aimed at the demographic that use this board though.

Yeah.
I feel like it would work better as a wacky Phineas and Ferb kind of show, and not as much a Marvel U series taking place in a superhero world.
The concept is there, but it's kind of a pointless superhero series.
Who the hell even reads the comic, there's hardly genuine fans of the series.
That can go for like 90% of Marvels supers outside of the Avengers and Spider-Man
