While I generally don't draw things I know nothing about, I try not to judge others that does it, because I do a lot of stuff that I only have surface level understand of just for fun.

Most fanart nowadays seem to be drawn by insipid morons drawn by the algorithm. I may be exaggerating. There is certainly a trend of artists attempting to become the next baalbuddy or Shadman by drawing meme or extremelly pornographic content. It feels dishonest, if not stuffed with irony.

I definitely agree on that. I've seen my fair share of guys drawing obscene shit for the sake of being offensive, right down to the art style, but it is what it is. The internet will always be filled with impressionable people that these people are pandering to.

Twitter is a fantastic place for artists in that its feed, follow, and retweet mechanics make it relatively easy for artists to network and get/provide exposure for one another at literally no cost than a button click or two. Even so, you're not entitled to the interest of your prospective artist, and the first thing anyone should learn if you're gonna do that is that your audience does not care how proud YOU are of something, or how much work you put into it. These concepts have no value to them, and getting mad over it won't change that.
