Why should I support the writers strike?

Just trying to start a conversation. I currently lean towards not supporting them but I wanted to hear other people's opinions

I'm just thinking about the ethical reasoning behind supporting/not supporting the movement. It appears to be a fairly popular issue. Not saying I'm gonna go on strike or anything just thinking. This is a discussion board after all.

wasnt a thing until the past 30 years when whites let all the hipsanics take the manual labor jobs and then had to make excuses for shit "oh they want these jobs cause theyre lazy! and sleep ina wheelbarrow!" uhhuh ok.

    1) You have no obligation to support them.
    2) The support isn't reciprocal.
    3) People asking for support are no different than beggars.

      >) People asking for support are no different than beggars.
people asking for a fair share of the profits are beggars
      moron braindead wagie bull shit

Both sides are against your interests, they both regard you as an enemy and should be treated in kind. The only difference is that one of them (the studios) is a bit more openly israeli and cynical, but at the end of the day both their endgames mean fundamentally the same thing for you.

tl;dr don’t support either side, support it going on as long as possible to maximize the suffering of both groups.

      >the side fighting for decent wages goes against your interest
      bull shit classist bull shit

What is a fair share of the profit? It's not just the writers that take part in the creation of movies. There are many other workers.

Motherfricker how does scriptwrites getting paid more affect 99% of society? They chose to go into a socially useless profession and get mad when their oay reflects that.

I generally agree with this. I haven't been to a movie theater in over 2 years. I unsubscribed from Netflix like a year ago. I don't find anything from Hollywood generally interesting. Why should I support the workers (or executives) of an industry if the product from said industry sucks?

The studios might actually be the winners in this situation because halting production of new content, that nobody actually watches by the way, might actually be what makes streaming services actually profitable.

I feel like I mostly desire a new generation of writers to be given an opportunity and the majority in the business currently to be culled only the best surviving, yes perhaps the producers and higher ups are partially responsible for the low quality writing but that won't be fixed by supporting these current writers, if you kill them off though and they have to get other jobs new writers will have a renaissance

I hope this whole thing plays out forever. Ideally Hollywood will be forgotten and we will be forced to performing our own folk stories and returning to the traditions of local theater for our culture.
