But it solves the problem of showing what happens when you DISRESPECT people, fools.

But seriously, no-one read this piece of shit before the campaign was done and told him to do a proper rewrite? This is the biggest issue with these artist-larping "counter-culture" morons. They're all lazy and intellectually dishonest midwits.

I don't know, have you ever seen anyone, anywhere, ever talk about it without immediately talking about "wokeness" and how by default this is good due to a lack of it? When it started being shipped out, the majority of the praise came from it being packaged competently. That should tell you enough.

What’s the story so far? Is it entertaining?

Avery Silman is thrust back into a world he left behind, after hanging up his suit many years ago, seemingly for good. Now he must decide if taking up the mantle of Isom once again is his best course of action . . .In Isom #1, Avery’s sister Altona contacts him to investigate the disappearance of a young woman, who was last seen in the company of former friend Darren Fontaino. But Darren has changed since he and Avery hung out back in their youth. Instead of the friend he knew, Darren has become a cold-blooded shot-caller, and one of the most feared men in the city. Little did he know that his visit with Darren would result in one of the longest days of Avery’s life!Around these parts, special beings are known as “Excepts.” Unfortunately for Avery, he has the misfortune of encountering some of them. Alphacore and Yaira each added their own complications to Avery’s longest day, while the living tank known as Santwan has reappeared to provide even more hardship to his life. What are the consequences of Avery’s choices in Part 1? Who, if anyone, will come to his aid? Grab Isom #2: Ill-Advised Part 2 today, and find out for yourself!Let’s be great.

It felt weirdly wordy for some reason, and I get the sense that these concept lived in his head too long but he didn't bother to bring the readers along. We don't have the same investment about his dilemma because we had no idea what isom was. None if the happening sound particularly interesting, just annoying and interspersed with indecipherable jargon.

In 2017, I fricked Eric July on the train tracks behind the CSCD in Denton. Man, his ass could grip. Real tight, super bushy (have you seen his shoulders??), and a sphincter you could only dream of. I had fun at first. But he was so weirdly macho about it. He kept saying things like "thats right b***h, am I gonna make you nut?" and "fricking gay I bet you can't wait to bust in my fat hairy man ass hahaha homosexual". I just ignored him and kept railing. He continued unironically calling me his b***h and a gay as he had several hands free prostate orgasms spilling seminal fluids onto the train tracks, getting more angry and dominant after each one. "Yea i bet you like dudes. You look like a pussy" he'd say "I cant even feel your limpdick b***h." I just kept clapping, wondering wtf is up with him. After about 20 minutes of railing Eric's boypussy, drenched in sweat and his cream, I finally got a nut off despite his constant berating and degrading comments. He immediately hopped off, laid flat on his back and bent his legs over his head so the cum dripped out of his butthole directly into his mouth. "The frick you looking at? You like this gay boy?" He kept saying. After he got every last drop. He cackled like a rooster and punched me in the face as hard as he could. He nearly broke his hand, but I was fine. "Fricking gay" he said as he limped off into the sunset, shaking his wrist. That was the first and last time I fricked Eric July on the train tracks behind the CSCD in Denton.

I know of no such creator.
I know of Ethan Van Sciver, the flash-in-the-pan artist from a few decades ago who had an ornate and overly detailed, weird, spindly style.
I know that he's never done a memorable comic that wasn't written by Grant Morrison or Geoff Johns.
I know he's a pathological liar with a sociopathic personality.
I know he also has a griftTuBe channel where he bilks marks out of money in exchange for taking three years to put out a comic.
I know he's insanely jealous of NPC Eric July having like quadrupled up on CryberFraud's success.

Fricking THIS. The fact that Eric showed no transparency throughout the entire crowdfunding campaign (to the point where he refused to call it a crowdfunder... until he wanted even more money) should have rung alarm bells in even the most slow-witted person. The fact that he did it all on his own website, instead of just letting Kickstarter or indiegogo do all the boring admin work, should have been the biggest indicator that this was going to be an embarrassment.

Yes Eric, it sucks that those sites charge admin fees, but 1) they're not a charity and 2) they take care of the awkward shit, like moving huge sums of money around without Paypal wondering what the hell is going on. All you did was release the piss filter over a stock photo, then b***hed for 10 minutes in some break room, and you were SURPRISED when people assumed the book didn't even exist?

                Anonymous

I remember the shills saying that Eric's website had the potential to become a serious competitor to kickstarter and indiegogo... of course, that was before the numerous delays that came as a result of Eric not knowing what the frick he was doing.

                Anonymous

I know a few people who've run successful KS campaigns, and Eric did pretty much everything you're not meant to do; he didn't plan ahead for potential delays, whenever he announced a delay it was always "shit's delayed, deal w/ it" and he ALWAYS got pissy online with anyone asking for more details. And yes, you're allowed to be frustrated with delays to your project, and it sucks that people don't always understand that, but you don't vent your frustrations on your customers.

Of course, casualgate shills are the beaten spouses of the comic book world, so they'll always come back to the butthole who blames everyone else for his mistakes.

If they really want to try and grow the brand they need to release it digitally already. I'm not dropping 35+ an issue. I read #1 and didn't feel it would have been worth the cash so even if they're idea sounds cool I'm not going to support something just for the sake of supporting it because hypothetically it could be good one day. The product, as it is now, is not worth the price of entry. There have been webcomics and fan fictions with more compelling starts that are free.

What bothers me is that the book FRICKING SUCKS.

Actually I take that back. It doesn’t even suck enough to make fun of. It’s just a bland, boring comic. It reads like someone wrote a comic after watching one superhero movie and thought “hey I could do that.”

July can make all the money he wants, but the industry isn’t going to change if all he can do is shit out one mediocre comic per year.

Like almost every year, Pat Mills' wife posted on the facebook page that it is absolutely positively definitely coming this year. Apparently Ledroit started working on it in September 2022

        >Greetings, Fang-Fans!
        >Another year has passed and many of you are wondering what has happened to the sixth and final volume of your favourite vampire epic?
        >Well, rest assured that Requiem Vampire Knight Vol.6 has not been abandoned but massively delayed.
        >The good news is that legendary comic writer/creator Pat Mills, has confirmed that superstar artist Olivier Ledroit started on Tome 12, the second half of this volume, in September 2022. Now, it usually takes him a year to complete a book. In addition, Pat has informed me that a further final tome has been added – Tome 13 – so we will have to wait until this is completed and release it in Vol.6 to complete the series.

  52. 10 months ago
    Anonymous

Honestly after issue one Eric has proven he has no right to be writing comics and should stick to the lamest sort of music ever.

Isom is a list of things he's seen more competent writers do but doesn't understand why they do it, his villain is the villain because he might be doing something evil, he meets up with another hero and she just drops him why? He retired from being a hero but instead of it being some sort of dark thing from his past it's because he just didn't care for being a super hero, okay so the moment he gets bored of looking for this girl he's going to given up on it and work on a farm.

Why the frick a farm anyway is Eric like all morons who thinks working on a ranch is more honest wore and not back breaking labor, again something I'm sure he'd give up on at the first moment he got tired of it.

The worst thing about Isom however has to bo Eric ego however, see I could buy wanting to do better than DC or Marvel but the funny thing is something like that awful America comic is better yes it has terrible dialogue, bad art and all around is stupid but at least I get the feeling the author tried there, here it's just Eric writing what he thinks comics should be but in the blandest way possible.

He's like Stan Lee in a fashion being a hype man but the thing is that Lee had ideas that people liked, Eric is Lee with our the talent, he's just a conman with no original ideas, just a cult who hate money.

      Best take so far.

It really is this amateur work, where he's knowledgeable enough of the beats to hit in a classic superhero story, but forgets why they should exist or for what purpose.

I remember writing terrible short stories as a kid that mimicked superhero cartoons that I watched, and it'd all just kinda become this slop of moments that have no justification of happening besides that I wanted them to happen.

        Anonymous

Thanks, though I should have spell checked it first.

Mind you I need to go on about the villain who's just not evil, we don't see him or his cronies do anything other than beat up a man who keeps harassing them, If this was Kingpin we'd see him ice someone or get someone else to kill someone,

And don't get me started about his whiney b***hing about the Legacy heroes or the Multiverse, Yes we've had some bad ones, but the truth is that he say that this universe have limits from the start, There can be no story of new hero starting up, from the scratch wanting to honor the legacy of someone and ultimately choosing to be both a mixture of that hero and themselves.

Or a Multiverse story where Isom goes to a dimension where he stuck with being a hero, and the world is a better place because of it, no moments of vulnerability where he questions "Did I make the right choice," or moments of realization where he accepts his decision to quit and tries to make the world better.

I think the thing that makes me Hate July more than any other hack is that he gives off this stench of arrogance, this feeling of "Old comics Good" but doesn't understand why they were good.

Marvel today solicited a 216 page TPB for $30. And you’ll be able to get it for cheaper from Amazon or your LCS.

    This is just absurd pricing.

        Well it’s not, obviously.
But even if it was, their argument is that “it’s not a single issue it’s a TPB!” That may be true, but it’s a small and expensive TPB.

The Korean War broke out in 1950, John Rambo was born on July 6th 1947.
This idiot is making a comic about an inordinstrlu tall 3 year old going to fricking war

I'm not a Rambo aficionado, is that date mentioned in any of the movies?

And if it was a baby in a war, that legitimately sounds hilarious.

Are you expecting any sensible from a guy who had issues with Native Americans having domesticated dogs?

Do you expect these hacks to be good enough to read wikipedia pages? He's too dumb to "understand" superhero movies why do you think he can wrap his head around such pedestrian concepts as time or continuity.

What's Spawn up to now? I read it once from #1-#200 or so but gave up when the new guy took over the mantle.

I would enjoy reading good venom and moon knight stories. I wouldn't enjoy picking one up and seeing a lecture about toxic masculinity or some other stupid shit, I learned about that from Deadpool.

Man, the shills really are slowing down, aren't they? The last Griftaverse thread barely made 300+ posts, and most of those were us non-shills pointing out how mediocre Isom #1 was. Come to think of it, the last shill thread was about a week ago...

tbf, Chadran is an actual Hindu name that means "shining" in Sanskrit... although it's more often a) spelt "Chandran" and b) used as a surname instead of a given name.

      Chadran sounds fast and cool.

      No it doesn't, Eric.

He's put out TWO mediocre ass comics over a year apart. How is that solving anything? And does every comic besides Isom have wokeness and trans people in them? A lot of y'all have really convinced yourselves you're "owning the libs and eliminating woke" by supporting these untalented grifters selling you overpriced shitty comic books.
