Because beyond the first two they weren’t very good adaptations. This series will probably be a shot for shot adaptation of the books with Rowling having full creative control.

That simply isn’t the case. The adaptation of the Half Blood Prince is perhaps the most egregious. 4 5 and 6 cut out all the good stuff in exchange for shitty teenage romance. Deathly Hallows was adapted better because they had two movies. They also made Ron into a whiny third wheel.

If it’s more book accurate then I don’t think so. The most book accurate movies are one and two, and even though multiple parts Ron has is given to Hermione instead—such as explaining the slur ‘Mudblood’ and saving them from that sinking pit in Philosopher’s stone—he came off better. But even in Chamber of Secrets he becomes the goofy comic relief... Yeah I dunno. It’s bizarre with Ron because he used to be everyone’s favourite character before the movies came out and now only book readers can see how hard done by he is.
That's a big IF. Maybe their take on being "book accurate" means just not butchering Goblet of Fire by showing Barty Jr. in the first 5 minutes and shoehorning Peeves. But as far as who shafts who in terms of the dialouge might be, anything goes.

The proper critique is that while the movies cut good shit and added dumb shit, the books also have massive problems. Several of them glaring issues and stupid shit that should be changed. People, fairly, shit on the GoF adaptation. But then they go on and say the book should be adapted strictly instead, which is also moronic. A good adaptation of GoF would involve massive changes because the book makes no god damned sense.

A prerequisite to Fantastic Beasts was that she had control there too and because there is actually source material now it will be really hard to mess up the show. Moreover, since Hermione will most likely be african all the blacks and assorted ethnics will support the show so any attempted botcott will fail even more.

Honestly? I do have to disagree with you there. I think it’s one of the few pieces of media which doesn’t which is why a lot of people develop an almost symbiotic relationship with it. The characters are well actualised.

Go rewatch the last few Harry Potter movies, they don't hold up well. Once the actors had to start being flirty with each other and showing affection, you could see that they really don't have good chemistry. The Deathly Hollows movie is a fricking bore, the half blood prince is a bore. I never read the books past prisoner of Azkaban so all I can say is that the movies have no character development and Ron and Harry become worse actors the older they get, probably because Randcliff admitted he hated his life as he got older but was committed to filming these movies and he drank alcohol to cope with it all.
Hollywood has no new ideas and they don't care to think of any. They realized that the safest moneymakers are the legacy IPs. They will just keep beating a dead nostalgia horse forever.
