Maybe in Amazing Fantasy, but the dude starts out lean in ASM#1 and just gets bigger as the series goes on. Pic related’s from ASM#1.
Why do modern execs hate him? was it because he was in a happy relationship while the execs went through bitter separations and divorces because they are shit people who will eventually drive everyone who could possibly love them away, and the only way they can appeal to women is through their money
…no. It’s because some time in the mid 90s editorial realized that Peter had pretty well completely grown up and there wasn’t much more to do that wouldn’t age him out of the role of spider-man (like give him a kid). So they did the Clone Saga in an attempt to have their cake and eat it too, letting the Peter who had grown up and marry Mary Jane go off into the sunset while having another Peter be back to the swinging bachelor he was in the 60s and 70s and easier to deal with. This of course didn’t really work and we’ve been dealing with the fallout of backing down from that decision ever since.
80s-90s era wife Mary Jane was the best. She had the best clothes, the best hair, and a fun personality. There’s a solid 10-20 years of MJ kino which is sadly forgotten. I want to become a drawgay one day so I can draw hot Mary Jane because modern mj is trash. Bland, ugly, plain, I hate modern mj so much it’s unreal. To me MJ is a character so beautiful and fun to be around she mogs black cat, but modern day mj and Peter are written as ugly and bland and unappealing as possible.
Who has the time to draw when you have to work a job, manage money for food. rent and taxes. Not an amateur like me no sir. How ling do I need to draw to become even slightly competent. someone once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
Lol if you have time to whine on Cinemaphile you have time to draw. Shut up homosexual.

Bitch, drawing constantly does nothing to fix hand coordination. Drawing even a simple clean line is too much of a hassle because you can't go too slow, or too fast.

Are you concern trolling, or do you want answers? Because (1) muscle memory to improve coordination is a part of practice, and (2) sketching lets you get away with multiple lines/strokes before you commit to a piece, and this idea translates to digital easily.

Seems that way. He's reminding me of that homosexual that used to go in the drawgay threads and whine that he "physically couldn't" learn to draw.

I'm just being realistic, drawing is not for everyone and not everybody has the time or the coordination to stop the hands from shaking to commit to making artpieces. That doesn't mean people who can and want to make drawings should stop, it means that "art advice" like "keep practicing bro" and "just pick up a pencil bro" is useless and downright misleading advice

I'm going to say this once in case you aren't trolling. If you aren't, you can ask for specifics. If you are, though, then frick off.
Traditional sketching has a lot of leenway with linework if you know your pencil darkness. A lot of artists will take a lighter pencil, make lines they know they're not going to use and just experiment with, then trace over the lines they want to commit to later with a darker lead afterwards and erase the prototyping lines. This isn't expensive either, a pack of pencils can run you around $7 at your local craft store.
Digital is similar, except you need to know how to work layers/colors, and you have line stabilizers if you're in certain drawing apps.

Okay motherfricker let's review your so called "advice" >Traditional sketching has a lot of leenway with linework if you know your pencil darkness. A lot of artists will take a lighter pencil, make lines they know they're not going to use and just experiment with, then trace over the lines they want to commit to later with a darker lead afterwards and erase the prototyping lines.
You can't erase the protyping lines with smearing the darker pencil lines dumbass, I've actually tried it, and even then pencils of various shades are expensive as frick. Also making a clean line isn't as easy as picking the right prototype line you want to draw over because the hand will lose control if you go too fast, or too slow. obviously this is not a problem that can be easily fixed and with people with motor conditions, it can be downright impossible
>This isn't expensive either, a pack of pencils can run you around $7 at your local craft store.
None of my "local craft stores" carry pencils that cheap, and these pencils will obviously have to keep being replaced, adding to the cost
>Digital is similar, except you need to know how to work layers/colors, and you have line stabilizers if you're in certain drawing apps.
So you're saying a person needs to spend YEARS, to learn drawing and then spend EVEN MORE YEARS to learn the interface of a digital system to draw, not accounting for systems becoming outdated and digital art equipment being hilariously expensive, some people do not have the time or the money to engage with this hobby and it isn't easy. A person can always try to become an artist and maybe even succeed. But you need to stop pretending that art is a simple and easy process

...Yes, that's why you prototype with a lighter pencil. I use 4H, but some people can use an HB for that level and just adjust their scanner.
>because the hand will lose control if you go too fast, or too slow
So... don't? Practice will help you strike that balance.
>None of my "local craft stores" carry pencils that cheap
You don't live near a Michael's/Hobby Lobby/Jo Ann's at least?
>and these pencils will obviously have to keep being replaced
Not really. I have a 4H that's getting worn, and that's about 3 years strong.
>EVEN MORE YEARS to learn the interface of a digital system
Months, actually. And by months (plural) I mean 2.
>But you need to stop pretending that art is a simple and easy process
I don't recall doing so, just reminding you that you should shut up and start, since if you're shitposting on Cinemaphile then you can continue doing it.
wait a minute...why didn't peter spoke like a typical new yorker?
I just noticed how he always spoke in a rather neutral english than what a new yorker would typically sound.
Because no one writing at Marvel spoke that way, and a lot of New Yorkers don't either, especially these days. The stereotypical accents tend to come from smaller ethnic or immigrant communities.
I blame movies and cartoons for insisting that Peter always has to be some dorky teenage outcast. That was never really the case for more than like half a dozen issues. He grew up very fast.
Such was the fashion
It was the 90s
If by “Chad” you mean “rapist.” Because that’s what’s happening here. It is NOT ok.
you're right, he should have her sign a contract of consent every time he wants to make a move
why's the table and couch blocking the entrance lul
Why is the flowerpot eyeing his ass?
Why wouldn’t he be?

That fricking hairline.
Women get with angry men all the time. Just be confident and good-looking which Peter is.
>more charismatic
Ha!
>and less angry
Women like angry men.
Because the execs at Marvel didn't hate him then like the present day ones do
Why do modern execs hate him? was it because he was in a happy relationship while the execs went through bitter separations and divorces because they are shit people who will eventually drive everyone who could possibly love them away, and the only way they can appeal to women is through their money
Because their OCs aren't as popular as Peter.
That's literally why Joe Q hated the marriage. Can't speak for the others. Middle age manchildren probably plays a role.

there was plenty they could do they just took the easiest laziest route
He hadn't sold his wife and daughter to satan yet

Don't blame the character for the bad writing of the writer.

A modern version of Romita MJ would be the standard InstaThot obsessed with selfies and Snapchat. 80-90s MJ is an entirely different character.
>I want to become a drawgay one day
Nothing is stopping you but yourself, brother. Pick up the pencil.
Drawing is a skill that takes years to hone, you can't "just" pick up a pencil and draw, especially if you're drawing the subtle features of a woman
It's like that saying, the best time to plant a tree is 10 years ago, the second best time is today.
You just need to work at it, like any other skill. Very few people are any good at anything the first time they try.
Who has the time to draw when you have to work a job, manage money for food. rent and taxes. Not an amateur like me no sir.
