Why was Colette from Ratatouille such a jerk?

I don't get it. If she's so great a chef, why does she constantly get angry? Isn't bad temperament a sign of poor character and poor judgement? Was Colette simply a hypocrite? And don't give me that "she's a woman" bullshit, either. There are plenty of world-class female chefs.

I'm tired of zoomers "not getting" things.

I'm tired of morons expecting us to be their life coaches and explain basic character archetypes and tropes to them.

I'm tired of these zoomzoom homosexuals thinking it's our responsibility to make the movie "good" for them. Like somehow it's our fault they didn't enjoy it. They had a bad time and someone needs to pay, so they crap out a weak thread on Cinemaphile demanding people defend it.

just work in any kitchen or even watch a single real or fictional chef show and you'll see. that's how chefs are. Why are they always mad? I'll tell you: because it's a job which absolutely doesn't matter but if anybody acknowledged that, they would stop showing up. So the chefs have to make up the pressure themselves.

Oh I'm sure you can do a much better job. Don't burn yourself on your hot pocket

Most jobs don't matter. What a weird justification. They're mad because it doesn't pay enough and you have to move fast all the frickin time.

Linguini was some janny who just started the previous day and started cooking on his own with no permission from anyone. Colette then gets assigned to tard wrangle him on top of her normal kitchen duties.
I can see how that would make someone pissy.

Women who work full-time careers in any job are going to be massive c**ts to you no matter what. They lost their femininity and gentle nature years before you even joined the work force. I've literally witnessed some of my own girls in my family become complete jerks like Colette here. It's not even a alpha woman type of behaviour, its them desperately trying to hold their position for a worthless career.

Notice how in the movie when she falls in love with Luguini, she becomes a much more likeable woman? Interesting little redpill.

Her job was in jeopardy already due to Geausteu’s already tentative reputation and she was given further responsibilities and burdens when Linguini started pulling his shit. She was under an immense amount of pressure while also being conflicted with the feelings she was developing for him. Anyone starts to get edgy when their job is in jeopardy, if you throw in romantic feelings, a high pressure job as a chef and emotional investment/passion I can see why she’d freak out.
