Because he’s not a good actor and Scorsese is no longer a good director.

A man throwing away his comfy life with a cute rich tradwife who loves him, out of sheer violent greed and misplaced loyalty? Impossible, unheard of.
Movie would have been vastly buoyed by the inclusion of at least 1 caped man with a knowing smile, flying around and making a one-liner gags to camera every time the plot hit a serious beat. It’s a pity Scorsese has no idea about the human experience

The world isn’t a binary between capeshit or Scorsese. The movie was objectively bad. The characters were motivated by the script and nothing that would make sense in a compelling dramatic story.

its the worlds shittiest episode of Forensic Files, except forensic files doesnt even disrespect murder victims with learning disabilities being murdered for insurance/inheritance the way scorsese treats the injuns as sub-brick -1 INT/1LK npcs who just wait around to get murdered, and its got the infuriating ending of forensic file episodes of people wrongfully convicted with some homosexual from the DA going "no, see the system works! we totally didnt frick this guy over," except in this shitty movie its the opposite a brow beating "white man bad" speech, which no, scorsese you coke sniffing homosexual, I didnt have shit do with this, im not the greedy israelite or two timing hicks from that shithole one horse oil town, 'hurr durr people like me might be a part of the problem'
THEN WHY'D YOU EVEN MAKE THIS GODAWFUL PIECE OF SHIT MOVIE THATS 3 HOURS LONG WITH NO ENDING YOU DENSE WOP gayOOT moron?
jesus, if I ever meet scorsese IRL im slapping the shit out of him

Marvelchads continue to buckbreak the minds of Scorsesecucks just by simply existing. Sad! Many such cases

I worked out the murderers so quickly. Shitty whodunnit, imo. Have no idea why there's so much hype around it.

It wasn't supposed to be a whodunnit. The point of the film is how insane it was that they got away with it for so long despite being so reckless.

The film is based on a true story and that is a photo of the real Ernest and Molly Burkhart.

He just was. That's the disturbing part. There are really people like this who just do evil and are incapable of resisting it. They're hopeless. Call them "soulless" if you like. The death penalty was a thing for a reason.

Apparently his some of his descendants forgave him.
      >Margie’s great-uncle Bryan Burkhart, in nearby Cleveland, Okla. Margie was a teenager when her father brought Ernest to the house in Gray Horse and introduced them. She was struck by how harmless Ernest — a man who had helped destroy entire families, including her own — appeared. He was slight, with fluffy white hair and bright blue eyes.
      >“He looked real shy,” she said, adding, “He looked just like a grandfather. You would see him on the street and you would have no idea what he had done.”
      >Even so, she now grants Ernest a measure of forgiveness, believing he was easily manipulated by the domineering Hale, who was like a surrogate father to him.
