Why was it enjoyable to see a superhero flipping burgers, dropping out of college and struggling to make a living?

I dunno who that is.
This, I don't keep up with whats releasing anymore.
buffy the vampire slayer season 6
Her fricking Spike was the most unrealistic thing of the entire show.
no that's what women are like
Hooking up with their biggest simps?
She never hooked up with Xander. Anyway Spike must have been created in a lab, his “bad boy” and “sweet vulnerable woobie” levels are off the charts.
He comes off like a tryhard homosexual
yeah but it actually works for him
You're a gay c**t or a hole
He pretty much is. He is a demon spawned into the memories of a poetry writing mommas boy. He is such a simp that the demon can't even override it.
Which also leads to the demons success as it isn't chaotically self destructive and focused on suffering of others. It kills slayers because it respects them and finds the challenge fun instead of simple sadism. Spike is kinda trustworthy in an evil henchman way.
i remember liking this fantasy series written in the early 90s by a right-leaning chick who had her two male leads (a warrior-priest and a dark wizard) reject other women and adventured together as platonic pals. there was a "woman moment" with someone who was clearly her own self-insert only for her to get written out at the end, not sure what to make of that. was pretty based and kind of gay.
sounds cool, what was it?
I remember there being a cucky fantasy series written by a man. Rothfuss or something.
The MC simps for this girl while she is on the wiener carousel for the entire series.
>The MC simps for this girl while she is on the wiener carousel for the entire series.
We need to teach more men to get rid of their oneitis and recognize that there are plenty of fish in the sea.
not really, she resented being brought back to life just to work in a fast food restaurant, forced to look after a little sister that wasn't hers and started rebelling
I'm pretty sure she came back without a soul and hew was the only one that could understand. honestly I liked her with Him more Angel.
The two of them was Honestly Sarah's Idea but Joss was mad the studio told him he had to keep spike alive so sabotaged it with the rape.
Yeah, but they kept implying Buffy was never interested in Spike no matter what he did for her, kind of like Snape/Lilly Potter thing. I guess Joss wanted to sabotage every chance of it becoming a great pairing.
It was moronic as was making spike a main character.
>I'm pretty sure she came back without a soul
I thought the problem was that she was in heaven before and they pulled her back to shitty Earth.
yeah they say it loud and clear in the musical episode
which is on tv right now
You don't get women.
Of course
the question is. Why does Spike?
Dude was a fricking creep and she was never into him.
you have autism
You're only a creep if you're ugly or very moronic.
Nerds say the same shit about Anakin Skywalker yet plenty of women still love him.
should have ended at season 5
3*
3, FTFY
It wasn’t. The post high school seasons were a mistake. The principal should’ve killed them (permanently) at the end of senior year then another high school girl should’ve been called. The show just doesn’t work after high school.
It COULD have worked after high school, but they didn't bother putting the effort into establishing the college as its own place on the same level of detail and familiarity as the Sunnydale High and then they failed plotwise as well, the Initiative arc in S4 and characters like Riley and Tara being some of the most boring elements of the whole show
"High school show goes to college" never works. It was a galaxy brain move to just have her drop out in the end like most people do.
Joss wrote this episode to humiliate her because by this time the two were fighting. You can hear him b***hing about it in the behind the scenes of firefly that he can't get rid of her because the show is named after her character.
The whole thing blew up to because Joss had never directed or been a showrunner before buffy but Sarah had been working on sets since she was a toddler and helped him in the early seasons and took on a lot of producer responsibilities and helped him. WB wouldn't give her a producer credit and Joss is narcissistic and fought with her because he couldn't stand the power dynamic where he needed her. In addition to the on set philandering she was pissed she was managing directors and doing shit that made her 14 hour days even longer because he fricked off to Firefly and Angel and she was stuck managing geust directors and fricking catering and he couldn't give her credit or respect.
I hate joss Whedon so much it’s unreal
why? he got to bang a bunch of cute girls and made a shitload of money for everyone.
Joss never got with any of them. He's Reddit incarnate and got shut down by all of them. He doesn't have the guts to be like big Harv.
He did but mostly with those low tier waitress actresses that showed up for one episode and eliza dushku.
I like the contrast of the hero saviour of humanity being stuck in a dead end job. It's also tragic in a way that she had to sacrifice her future to protect people.
It was moronic that Giles or the watchers didn't fund the slayer
buffy was a b***h to them, she wanted to be a strong independent slayer who don't need no watchers.
They did, until she told them to stuff it around s3-4. It was kinda unrealistic they didn't keep doing it anyway out of pragmatism, but that's british people for you.
Yeah it's kinda dumb, they only really exist to make sure she can do her job. Also pretty dumb they only sent one dude to help her out.
How did they fund her anyway, did they buy her new outfits for every episode
Buffy was so cute in that outfit. Wife material.
kissable lips
>quits after a week
too bad they trashed the buffy becomes a part time escort script
>getting fricked like a hooker by a vampire in the alley
hot as hell if you ask me
it wasn't. the upn seasons of buffy suuuucked
to me only the last season is unwatchable garbage. seasons 4 to 6 still have their very good moments
It wasn't.
what was it like watching season 5 when it came out
it just ends and buffy dies
did people quit watching
She died by jumping into some magical energy portal thing connected to a hell dimension, so I kind of assumed at the time that her soul was trapped in hell or something and they could get her back somehow. I wasn't super far off from what happened.
at the time, it was supposed to be the last episode. Then it renewed for another season
The internet fandom and just entertainment news shows were big enough that people knew about the UPN renewal.
Kino as frick plotline that peters out by the end and goes nowhere. She she should have killed herself again and season 6 being the actual final season.
Joss genuinely believes it is impossible for happiness to last. It's why all his romantic pairings end in tragedy. He is a miserable cynic.
Why didn't Buffy work construction with Xander or at the Magic Shop with Anya? I assume they were both doing that in season 6 I kind of forget.
>Why didn't Buffy work construction with Xander or at the Magic Shop with Anya?
She tries both. Fights demons at the construction site and gets fired and gets stuck in a time loop at the magic box.
Holy frick I forgot that happened. I haven't watched that since it aired. Thanks.
fair play to her, or the makeup department, but she's in her mid 20's and looks like a teen there
It wasn't.
I love Buffy and Angel threads.
Faith best girl
I could have saved her.
Better? No Relatable? Yes
season 7 was great
the biggest issue with season 7 is that it focuses 100% on the big bad villain of the season and drops the episodic format
it's so bad i regret watching it at all
way too much plot that isn't interesting on rewatch, xander and willow disappear even more than in s6.
