I watched the movie when I was like 20 or so and didn't know the show existed except for some colouring books I saw as a kid but I didn't know WTF was all of it about until I discovered the movie.
THERE'S MORE STAR COMMAND, BUZZ LIGHTYEAR AND INFINITY AND BEYOND IN ONE EPISODE OF BLOSC THAN IN YOUR ENTIRE FLOP.

That's the Toy Dipshit, and while yes the movie is its own continuity, it still sucked ass as a movie in general. You can reimagine Buzz in an au potraying him as the character the toy is based off of as seen by the original animated series doing just that and have it work.

The little mermaid, lion king, aladdin, tarzan, and more all had shows on disney, these shows were much better than the sequels to these movies (the ones with 2 in them made in the same time period, not the live action remakes/reboots and so on)
My question is why were the shows better than those movies?
That question is a mess mostly because you would have to analyze who made those series and movies...
