For people living in modernized societies, in general, the past was a more primal time, in terms of attitudes and expected behavior.

Blue Lagoon had tasteful and wholesome nudity.

It was part of the women's liberation movement to not persecute people over their natural anatomy. If everyone is naked, everyone just gets used to being naked and doesn't make a big deal out of it. Since then, popular trends have moved towards being thought police that burn at the unwelcome gaze of others.

sex stopped selling once limitless free porn happened

the entertainment industry thought maybe they could somehow turn women into the new primary consumers of entertainment by trying not to offend any of them

      sex still sells

but add a few scenes that belong in a dime store romance novel? that'll sell to broads

Nudity hasn't always been seen as inherently sexual. This is why people say Americans are too sexed up. Even if they have less sex than other countries, they see one boob and become animals. Somewhere like Spain is a good example. Chicks just walk around topless on or near the beach and nobody bats an eye. Do that in America and there's either police, perverts or both.

nudity became sexual once clothing became mostly necessary.

        Anonymous

It's mostly necessary everywhere and not inherently sexual everywhere. That's why I pointed to Spain. You're not walking into a restaurant, ordering tapas and whipping out your breasts to play volleyball, but everyone's also so used to seeing it that they just don't really care. It's more UK Christian/Catholic prude values than anything. A Catholic Spaniard wouldn't blink an eye.

even if nudity is sexual from a primal standpoint, if people act like "yeah that's just being human, boobs are out sometimes" it will not feel the same as other behavior reserved for the bedroom in private with a lover

Tell me amerigoblin, do you think that was always the case in Spain? This was imported from the US through degenerate, decadent people.

You're so uneducated it's mind-blowing. If you're a Euro I feel bad for your countrymen for having to deal with such an astronomical moron. Up until the end of the 19th century in the MAJORITY of Europe, skinny dipping was fine and normal. King Edward VIII helped to designate the first legal nude beach, but on the island of Rab, in fricking Croatia. Did they bring that back to the UK-dominated Europe that was already stifled by UK Christians? Nope. Of course not. They were totally fine doing it elsewhere, though. It wasn't until UK morons were finally seen as the morons they are that places like San Tropez and Mykonos and shit started popping up. America > UK, full stop. You ruined it.

          >King Edward VIII
Like I said, decadent degenerates. Funny how this degenerate king got influenced by an American, like I had previously stated.

Janet Jackson at the superbowl. It wasn't even the actual performance that generated the blowback, it was the fact that they kept showing clips of it on the news the next day.

The lack of nudity is finally ending. The "body positivity" is finally fizzling out as well, so male nudity/fat chicks will give way to more BEAUTIFUL women doing nude scenes because plain/ugly people don't sell, their presence is self-destructive because ugliness doesn't want to be "represented" onscreen.

There's one thing to take away from all of this: Euros ruined it themselves and shipped that gross Christian shame off to America. Now America suffers because of the poor decisions of Euros that let literal morons from the UK ruin everything. So all we have to do is change it. Easy. More nude beaches. Less anti-nudity laws. No shirt? Service. Wear shoes though, that shit's nasty.

No, Amerilards are religious like the 17th-19th century UK Christians they came from. These are the same puritans that literally didn't bathe because it was seen as immodest. This isn't uniquely American, this literally came from western European Christians. Eastern Europe had zero qualms. Even roaches and Greeks bathed.
