Why was this show such a career killer? The only people that did anything after was Frank Sobotka as the sheriff in True Blood and Daniels playing the exact same role in Bosch.

I watched it for the first time a few years ago. It was great but I agree overrated, I wouldn't say "best of all time" like so many people do but a fantastic show.
I was looking at a book on The Wire at a bookstore and one of the guys working there walked up to me and said
