Kaguya would have been cool if they introduced the concept way earlier, the way she was introduced it felt like an afterthought
She's also a much easier opponent than Madara was. Sure she had supremely hax abilities but she lacked intelligence in several regards (intel on her opponents that Madara had accumulated with his fights with them, experience in battle, mental fortitude (that scene where she gets distracted by the male harem just)).
Yeah the exposition dump near the end to explain that all ninja abilities comes from some alien coming to their planet to kill the life their but her human hybrid sons stop her and it turns out she's the been the REAL villain the whole time. Felt like a whole arcs worth of plot crammed into 3 episodes. It literally pauses in the finale just to tell you all this stuff otherwise you'd be confused when the alien lady appears.
Something tells me they had no idea how to end the series in a grand finale, so they simply went full moron

Kakazu was Akatsuki's banker and Itachi was one of their most valuable members due to his skills and background so both of them were too important to be killing one another. The set up they had was probably the best way to do it.
I found his defeat boring. No fear in him when he's left as an exploded body left in a pit forever since he's immortal, but rather sounds more annoyed. The lack of emotion in Shikamaru also takes away from it as well. Buddy had his leader killed by this guy while getting off to it and he just talks to him blandly and boring to him before walking away from his exploded body. He should have been more vicious to show what his intellect can bring about against his enemies. I would taken his severed head by to the Hidden Leaf to be endlessly tortured by killing one of their top ninjas. No, it was edging that way for a while and people who think it came out of nowhere didn't really get the buddhist/occult themes that were leading up to it and had been built for a while which is understandable, but they're incredibly common themes in Japanese anime, shonen in particular.
The war itself was just pretty fricking stupid. All round stupid. Stupid on a logical and a narrative level. The moment Kabuto bust out nostakes no jitsu it was just one long slog until Madara took over, and even then.
And now you know why people thought Asura's Wrath stole its concepts from it.
Really if you watch anime like this you should familiarise yourself with the concepts alongside Jungian psychology because those crazy nips are absolutely obsessed with it. Personally I enjoy the themes and am happy to see Boruto lean fully into the gnostic side of them rather than the Jap oriented ones.
